The Scoop on JOB2 Start Date for 2013 - Fusion Hybrid Titanium and Energi

Recommended Posts

Thanks, y'all. Figured it might be someone like that as well. Ah well - such is life. Dealership says they will "hot ship" it once it is unloaded from the train I hope it boards soon.

It is nice to see Jeff's spreadsheet filling in!

Hopefully I won't be too far behind you fellas.

I check Ford build and price and see if mine has a VIN yet. It would show up under the dealers inventory when it does. Nothing yet, OK Week #2 has come and gone. 10 more to go.

My car doesn't show up in the Ford inventory tool (tried extended search too) or dealer's website - and it's 2.5 hours away! Don't rely on that, unless you know for sure your dealer will post it.

Any idea how far from the dealership the train usually drops the car off? What's the longest distance the dealer can hot ship from? How is hot shipping different than regular shipping?

CSX says my car was delivered to Elkhart, IN, which is 2.5 hours away. I wonder if it'll go on another train or the dealer will pick it up from there ???

Nope - no idea. Wish I were more help.

My dealer said the drop off for the train is Jacksonville which is ~2.5 hours away as well. Think in my case it is going to travel via semi-transport truck from there.

I didn't ask them the difference between "hot" or regular shipping. Perhaps I will the next time I call them - end of the week next week.

OK, "hot ship" means the dealers asks that the car be delivered ASAP. Mine was hot shipped and was delivered to the dealer about 8 hours after it was taken off the trail. The distance from rail yards is different all over. There is no set distance. The distance for my car was about 14 miles and I was there when it arrived as the dealer called me to come on down as it was on its way. I was there when they serviced the car for delivery. I had a long laundry list of things to look for and there were no issues with the car.

Can somebody put up their list of things to check upon delivery? I have a couple things but would like to hear what others are looking for?

Here is what rprobst, who just picked up his car posted. I have not heard of the battery issue.

"I had a checklist, assembled from comments on this forum, and went through it carefully. Fit & finish is perfect; no misaligned panels, no problem with the dash-to-door or A-pillar alignment, no headliner problems, no door seal gaps, plastic part not missing from the camera at the rearview mirror, no paint mars on the roof, nothing I can see wrong. Top quality.

The moonroof buttons are physical, not capacitive. The pedals do not have aluminum trim. No surprises there.

The 12V battery WAS the wrong size. I am so glad I knew to check this, from posts here and in the C-Max forum. The factory had put in a BXT-99R-390. I pointed this out to the sales guy, who brought in the service manager, who had not heard about the issue. I said I wanted a BXT-96R-500 or -590. After a few minutes (while they researched this?), they said they would put one in and had even found one in Parts. I go back today to swap 12Vs."

Here's the thread about the Hybrids dead 12V battery:
http://fordfusionhybridforum.com/topic/5885-dead-12-volt-battery-2013-fusion-hybrid/

It turns out that the manual lists the same battery as the Gas models, which is incorrect. The Hybrid comes with the correct battery and unless it's dead, there's no reason to replace it.

Actually that is not the case. My battery started going into battery saver mode about 1 week after I bought it. I didn't think that much about it until I was not able to run anything in accessory mode. Then it kept going into battery saver mode every time I turned the car off and the radio was on. The dealer did a load test and the battery was dropping to about 11v. When the car was turned on everything ran fine. Te dealer said my wife's commute, just over 8 miles a day, and the weekend running around we were doing was not enough to keep the 12v charged up.

Now, there is something wrong with that scenario as we have never had a problem with the gas 2010 Fusion we own. The dealer's solution was to put a trickle charge on the 12v battery. The problem is the ICE needs to run to charge the 12v battery and that is contrary to why we bought a hybrid.

This is not one of Ford's better ideas. I haven't heard from anyone who has a 2010 - 2011 or 2012 FFH and has had this issue.

I know of someone who took earlier delivery of their 2013 FFH and is now on their third 12v battery.

Hi again.

I got all of the links to the various web sites to track ordrs an such and the number to use when you have your ETTX number. I have asked for that number from my dealership and they have yet to give it too me. Since I have a VIN, a Sticker, and a ETA date of April 10, do you think I could get the ETTX rail number from Ford Customer Service? My dealership has been really great and don't want to be come a pest so they dont call me for a couple days after my car gets there, lol. They also says it has a rush order on it, anybody have any luck with Rush orders?

Thanks for any info in advance! I would post on the Blue Oval Forum but cant think of 10 meaningful posts yet, maybe an in depth discussion on why Ruby Red paint is so hard to keep in stock, or how about a back and forth exchange of why MPG is lower for people with heavy feet. Enquiring minds want to know!!

Did I also mention that I cant wait for my car to get here!!

You can try to get your ETTX from @FordService and also ask your dealer to pull your Vehicle Visibility Report history and get the ETTX from the first line where the status changed to "In Transit". Some dealers will even email the report to you. Good luck, and enjoy tracking your rail car and receiving your new vehicle.

My car completed it's rail journey! The rail car reached its destination and has been "constructively placed" according to CSX. I won't say where the car is now because someone might steal it - acdii cough cough - !

Just curious, is the window sticker website updated nightly or throughout the day? I have a scheduled to day of 4-8-13, but no sticker yet. Today I checked like 8 times throughout the day. Do I save time and only check once in the morning? :)

LOL, IF I dont sell this car before the other one is built and delivered I will have the dealer swap out the wheels. I do like these wheels a lot more than the standard ones.

I asked my dealer how much it would cost to upgrade to those wheels and it'll be $1,280 (+tax I'm assuming) :drop:

So it looks like the Incentives for my area increased to $1,500 from the standard $500, but it doesn't say if that includes Hybrid's. Anybody else been able to clarify if this is true?

On another note, it looks as if my build week has been set for April 22nd but the order banks open for the 2014 April 15th. When do the order sheets get released so we can see if there are any differences in the 2014? I was hoping that maybe they'll add City Assist as a feature that could be added! That would make it worth waiting, at least for me.

Did you select Fusion Hybrid as the trim and still see $1,500? In my zip it's $1,500 for the Gas & Energi, but $500 on the Hybrid. What zip shows this on ford.com/incentives?

What in the world is City Assist?

I think he's referring to Ford Active City Stop -

Why didn't we get the option of Active City Stop :headscratch:
