milleron Report post Posted March 23, 2013 Both of the other HyTi's sold by my dealer are being built this week. Mine, with a lower VIN than one of the others, has no information on Etis other than it's a 2.0L Gas/Elec to be built at Hermosillo. If I understand it correctly, production of my car is being delayed because they ran out of paint!?!? WTF?? Is it 2013 or 1908?I'm starting to think that the Muse of the Auto Nuts just doesn't want me have a Fusion Hybrid. I waited 6 months on my Hybrid SE without EVER getting a VIN or a build date. I've now waitied 3 months since ordering my Hybrid Titanium, and still can't even get a build date.Might there be some (dare I say it?) mismanagement at FoMoCo? 1 Toz reacted to this
murphy Report post Posted March 24, 2013 Most manufacturing these days is done by "just in time parts ordering".They don't have warehouses full of parts anymore. It appears that the manufacturer of Ruby Red paint dropped the ball.Retail orders for cars with Ruby Red paint will be scheduled starting the week of April 1.Window stickers usually, but not always, are generated 7 days before the build date.Start checking for your window sticker on Monday. murphy Report post Posted March 24, 2013 how can you tell form the window sitcker of when your car will be builtThere is a date embedded in the window sticker at the bottom (not the one in the border). That is the date the window sticker was created.Usually, but not always, the build date will be 7 days later.Commodity holds, like the current one for Ruby Red paint, can delay the build. dlramon Report post Posted March 26, 2013 Found my window sticker today (http://fordlabels.webview.biz/webviewhybrid/WindowSticker.aspx?vin=3FA6P0RUXDR290688) so it looks like I'm on-track for vehicle build week of 4/1/13. I think this next question may have been asked before but just in case it hasn't - can someone decode the following build date found on the etis web site: 30.11.0002? The date will be in the DD/MM/YYYY format.
dlramon Report post Posted March 26, 2013 (edited) I know this is going to appear suspicious but I received notification from my dealer that my car has been built and that he has received the invoice. I questioned him twice to be sure he was certatin that the car was actually built and he confirmed it both times. From what we know from info on this site, the Etis site should provide an update tomorrow with a build date indicating 3/26/13 if build actually occurred today. According to the dealer, my car's shipment date awaits quality control inspection and sufficient cars built to ship by rail car. Given my car is actually built, they built it a week earlier than it was scheduled to be built - amazing things can happen I suppose. If all of this turns out to be true, I surely won't complain! I don't know that just because the invoice is generated that the car has been built, from what I understand that may just mean that the order has been sent to the plant for production. See post #873 on the thread below for more info on this. http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums/index.php?/topic/52490-progress-on-orders-for-fusion-energi-and-hybrid-titanium/page-

If the daily update has occurred, no update would strongly imply that my car was not built yesterday after all. Below is a copy of the build date info I found on the Etis site: Primary Features Build Date: 30.11.0002Vehicle Line: Transit Connect 2002-Engine: 2.0 4V DOHC PFI Gas/ElectricTransmission: ECVT Auto Trans Power Split This is just another case supporting the fact that Ford's information system is disjointed. Ford Marketing, Sales and Manufacturing are not communicating facts clearly in a way that can be easily understood. Toz Report post Posted March 27, 2013 Well, progress and setbacks. I have seen over on Blue Oval that at least two people with Ruby Red HyTi's with build dates of 1april got pushed back to 15 april. I still do not have a build date or VIN yet but I saw that my order priority got moved from a 10 to a 2 this week, so hopfully that will help.

wazzul Report post Posted March 27, 2013 I'm sure getting tired of watching these forums and checking every avenue I have available to me for an update, just to get the same old "Unscheduled Clean." I was no big deal when they weren't building HyTi's but now that I'm seeing them being built and starting to show up on the Dealer pages I get more and more tired of hearing crickets on my car. I know there's a Commodity hold on Ruby Red paint, I know there was a delay for cars with the sun roof and I know we'll be better off not trying to change things on the fly.I guess what I'm trying to say is, when do I bail on the 2013 and just wait a few additional months to get a 2014 instead? I'm sure there won't be any real changes besides the model year, but since I'll be buying the car and holding it for awhile I could probably help the resale down the road if I started early in the model year versus late in a model year. Besides, maybe they'll add head/ rear in park assist or stop and go assist to the feature sets?

Yea, it's even more frustrating because people that put their order in March already have build dates and VIN's. Bummer of a time to dig red. TerrorTodd Report post Posted March 27, 2013 Hard to have sympathy...I ordered back in November 2012 and my car finally got built on March 22nd! So you ordered in Feb - that would be equivalent if you had to wait until June - waiting until April 15th or even the end of April for a build date is cake. Enjoy that you probably will not have to wait the 4-5 months many of us have. 3 Toz, jeff_h and neod192 reacted to this
