Randy Report post Posted July 30, 2010 I've had my FFH since November and have been very happy. Unfortunately, now that it's gotten hot here in the south I've noticed my black interior has become spottled. Has anyone seen any discoloration on their dash? It looks like it's happening all across the dash. The dealership took pictures and sent them off to Ford. No word on what they might do.
lolder Report post Posted July 30, 2010 Most of them do this. Clean it with a damp cloth as the Owners Gide suggests. It will return, however.

I'm looking at buying the 2011 FFH in white with the charcoal interior. Do you mean to tell me that within a year there will be spots? How is this normal? Do you guys have pics of what the spots look like? Also now is this with all colors or just the charcoal interior? sorry for all the questions is just I am in South Florida (We have lots and lots of sun) and I would no like to spend this kind of money and see spots. rfruth Report post Posted August 2, 2010 I have the light stone cloth interior - no problems here, (do all FFH's have the same dash) ?

It looks like it's happening all across the dash. The dealership took pictures and sent them off to Ford. No word on what they might do. I may have experienced the same thing in mine. Lt. Stone interior. I first noticed it after a trip to a trusted "hand" car wash. I thought that some window cleaner might have oversprayed on the dash when they did the front window. It was a fairly warm day. I did wipe down the dash with a damp cloth but ultimately, I used some Meguiars Quick interior detailer and the spots seem to be gone. I also use a sunshade so the sun isn't hitting the dash for long periods of time when at work. If it comes back I'll try to post a pic. I'd be interested in what they come up with for you. Thanks
Grey Report post Posted August 2, 2010 My spots came from overspray of glass cleaner. Wish I had told them that I would detail it when it came in. Meguiars got rid of most of the spots.

Randy Report post Posted August 8, 2010 Just heard back from the dealership. Ford is replacing the dash under the terms of the warranty. While part of me is glad, I'm worried about replacing a factory-installed dashboard at the dealership... especially if other posters had the problem resolved with Meguiars. Should I ask them to try cleaning it first with one of their own products? Or maybe they've gone ahead and approved the replacement because they've received similar complaints from that production line? The new dash is supposed to be here later this week. I;d let them replace it. We had our headliner replaced in our 2005 Escape because the factory install job kept falling down. They used a local company that specializes in it. Perfect job. You wouldn't know it was not done at the factory. After over 5 years still looks great with no problems. Dan
Troy Vosseller Report post Posted January 18, 2011 I have this same problem. It started before ever washing or wiping down the dash. It's awful and should not be that way in a new car. I brought it to the dealer and they said "that just happens because of the curvature of the rubber material" - give me a break! I am going to demand a replacement through the warranty next time around. Anyone else get this repaired via warranty?
