Removing paint from a car ding

Some a**hat who can't open their door correctly put a small little dent in my car, its not to bad but there is a touch of white paint in the center of the dent. Anyone have suggestions to removing this? I went to the autostore and 1 guy recommend something that looked like turpentine (though I'm scared to use that) 1 other guy recommended WD-40 and a wet cloth. Anyone have a working solution they used before I make it any worse?

Bug and tar remover might work, but the best thing would be a clay bar.

3m rubbing compound is what i use. it works great. It might catch a bit of a haze but if you wax it after applying the compound it will come back to a nice finish.

Agree. An excellent product, as are most of the 3M products. Any haze can be removed with polishing compound.
