  1. I sincerely doubt it. It's not a simple case of swapping out switches. You would need a driver's door module from a 2011 and who knows if that can be retrofitted to a 2010 or if it would even be compatible the earlier car's system. I'm not saying it's impossible, but you should be aware that these types of functions are not controlled merely by switches.
  2. There was no factory installed remote start for 2007 Fusions. If you have a Ford-branded remote start, it was most likely dealer-installed. 10 minutes run time is normal. I believe it can be changed to 15 minutes. If you do in fact have a Ford RMST, [/url] the manual for the 2007 version. If you have an aftermarket kit, you'll have to find out what brand it is and see if you can get a manual for it.
  3. Not so. I've run an oiled filter on 2 Lincoln LSes for thousands of miles and had no MAF problems. The problems arise when owners over-oil the filters. It's not a case of if a little is good, more must be better.
  4. No, you're certainly not the only one experiencing this. See this thread. I have the issue with my MKZ as well but it seems to come and go, which leads me to believe that it's related to what's on the glass. I haven't tried changing the blades yet.
  5. No. It's not a simple matter of just swapping out the CC panel. The electronics are not there. Also, there have been extensive discussions here WRT getting an outside temp. gauge to work in non-EATC-equipped cars. Do a search under "outside temperature."
  6. You're welcome. The index in the the Ford OMs is infuriating. I just happened to remember it b/c the process is so much more complicated than it was in my previous Lincoln LSes and I'd had to look it up. I don't know why they had to make this so complicated. In the LS you just had to hold the adjustment button down and pull the head restraint up and out. It took 2 seconds and and it was much easier to clean the inside of rear window or fold down the rear seat when they could be easily removed on the fly.

Agreed. Don't fall into the trap of blindly replacing parts without using the troubleshooting tree and knowing what exactly triggered the DTC. Are you an an auto tech?
  8. Brake squeal is a very common complaint and it cuts across all price ranges of cars. See my post here For the record, I haven't heard a peep from my MKZ's brakes. 15,600 miles.
  9. The wiring that runs up through the steering column can be affected by a bad clock spring. This includes the cruise control as well as the turn signals and horn. It can also trigger an airbag warning light.
  10. I keep mine at 37. It's a little difficult to tell if these RS-As are wearing unevenly because they looked worn out on the edges when they came from the factory  No undue center wear, though.
  11. It might go away after some driving. I emphasize "might." Also, now that it's gotten pretty cold I notice that these Goodyear RS-As tend to flat-spot. I have a vibration at those speeds also, but it goes away once they warm up.
  12. FWIW, the first Ford Escape hybrid taxicabs used in San Francisco were retired after traveling over 300K trouble-free miles with no major issues and still using the original batteries. Link Also, don't forget that battery manufacturing capacity is/was limited. This could affect sales volume, although hybrid sales in the U.S are not exactly breaking any records right now.
