Ranger_Rick Report post Posted May 14, 2010 There might be a dead ant in the sensor. Give it a spritz with the hose.
bren5666 Report post Posted May 14, 2010 My 2010 does the same thing about once a week. The dealer doesn't know what's going on.

Steve Others have reported a problem with screeching as soon as you put it into reverse. You say it gets steady "when you get closer to an object". That happens to me all the time, because it is supposed to. Does it happen all the time or just when you get close? According to the manual: As you move closer to the obstacle, the rate of the tone increases. Whenthe obstacle is less than 10 inches(25.0 cm) away, the tone will soundcontinuously :shift:

Which is not normal at all and means a sensor is either blocked or defective.

Has not done it for last couple days. Lke folks said maybe it is a bad sensor.
