  1. Not sure if it was a recall or not, but I read some 1st gen Fusions had problems with the subframe under the engine cracking, and making noises like that.
  2. RTV or silicon. Just make sure it's very clean where you apply it, and make sure you get the interior totally dry before you seal it back up.
  3. I thought the song save feature was only in Sirius, so HD wouldn't have anything to do with it?
  4. I'll be watching, as I've wondered the same thing myself. :headscratch:
  5. When I tried Rain-X, it was great at first, then it just became trouble. Maybe if you keep applying it religously...
  6. I tried the 'text' button with RDS, and found it cycles through a few different display modes, so it does do something there. Dabige is probably on to something there. I never had to do that to mine.
  7. If it's just that the threads are too long, it's easy to cut it to the right length with the right tools.
  8. As far as the RDS, I have never had to use the 'text' button to get RDS info on an FM station. I always thought it was just for Sirius, since it makes the Sirius display cycle between the station name and the artist/song info. I'll give it a try on an FM station today if I remember. You're aware that not all FM stations broadcast RDS info, right?
  9. First, if it sounds too good to be true..... Second, if it were really this easy and safe to get 4-7 MPG and up to 60 HP increase, you think the car car mfgr's, who were biting and scratching at every bit of MPG and HP to claim top dog in the battle of the best sedan, would miss something this easy? If you're going to get this, don't forget to get the Tornado Fuel Saver, which will also give "7-15%" better MPG, as well as better HP, torque, etc. Don't forget the Hydroxygen Generator, which can give a (GASP!!!) 60% mileage increase!!!!! So if that hydrogen generator really worked, don't you think our Fusions would already have them and be getting what, (My I4 hwy mpg is rated 33 I think) 52.8MPG!!!!! Without all that hybrid crap! Of course, maybe the great oil company conspiracy with George W have been suppressing this technology, and these people are risking life & limb to sell them. Sorry to present it this way. I just really hate to see people get robbed by modern snake oil salesmen... BTW, someone here will know and hopefully explain the trickery behind the $68 Gforce resistor which just tricks your O2 sensor, I believe.
  10. That's funny, my car seems to drag and struggle in the morning, on the way to work. Then in the afternoon, on the way home, it's like a rocket!
  11. I haven't thought of other things for Sync to do. What kind of customizations and additions were you thinking of? The only thing that comes to mind now, would be having it work with my Garmin GPS. I guess for stuff like that, not only Ford, but all the other electronics mfgr's would have to agree on a common communications software.
  12. I don't think they're shown in the link you provided. They were just the cheapest ones. Maybe the cheap Anco. I'll check next time I'm there, as I bought them at the store, not over the web. Sorry. I really liked Bosch Microedge for my Grand Cherokee, but I never catch them when they're in stock. The worst ones I tried were the Rain-X Latitudes. The special structure which is supposed to keep contact left blank streaks from day one! Both blades.
  13. While frustrating for the reasons you mention, I believe these design changes were mostly for aerodynamics and weight savings in the name of MPG and the increased performance we expect nowadays. Not to mention, maybe safer due to the change in mentality from lots of metal between you and everything else, to crumple zones. And I'm sure money could have a lot to do with it, too!
  14. I tried a couple of name brands, which did the same thing or worse, then tried the no-name wiper blades at O'rielly Auto, and they're the best. No skipping or anything.

Here's how a guy did it in the 'gurgling' thread: Funnel method It's post #1010. But I doubt it would be the case, or you'd hear the gurgling. I had my water pump replaced under warranty and had the gurgling noise on the ride home, then picking up my son from school, but it was gone the next day. There's no missing it.
