Wiper Jitters

I have heard from previous posts about the passenger wiper blade jitters during operation, but I have not heard if there has been a fix. I have a 2010 fusion sel and when it rains I have to turn the radio up to keep myself from stopping and pulling off the entire wiper arm. I do plan on taking the car in tomorrow for the new strap (no - start) problem. I just wanted to know if my best option is to buy better blades?

Hi dmeta. :D As with most new vehicle problems, your best option would be to point out the problem to the Service Department while you have the car there. The diagnosis/repair would be covered under the 3 year/36,000 miles Bumper to Bumper Warranty. And even if the issue was due to "worn wiper blades", the blades themselves are covered for the first 12 months. And if the Dealer replaces the wiper blades and the problem still occurs, then they will know there is a deeper cause and need to correct it.

I solved the "jitter" problem by cleaning the blades with rubbing alcohol and carefully bending the wiper arms slightly towards the windshield. My guess is that's all the service department will do.

So far is you tech work for getting rid of the jitters.

The chatter came back so I switched out the blades with Bosch Micro Edge. No more chattering.
