fordfever Report post Posted October 3, 2009 Does the ambient lighting that appears under the seats an option that needs to be purchased seperately? Or is it included with the FFH? I believe the lighting in the cupholders are included. Also, can they be left on while the car is in drive mode? I like the fact that we can change the color when we please. Thanks

jeff_h Report post Posted October 3, 2009 They are included in the FFH but they are not under the seat in the front---they shine onto the floor. They stay on while driving. I would describe them as outlining the cup holders (which I've found very handy) and also one light in each of the "foot area" for each seating position. You can change the color settings while parked or while driving, pushing the button will scroll through 6 different colors or setting #7 is lights off. fordfever Report post Posted October 4, 2009 I think they look really cool and helps when it is dark out. Will match perfectly with any paint or interior I select.

Just realize that there is an enormous amount of blue coming from the dash and console stack (NAV) --- when using the blue tones on the ambient lighting it tend to enhance what is already there. The pink just makes my daughter happy. :hysterical2:

I prefer the dark blue setting, but it's on pink after my daughter drives the car!
rflanner Report post Posted February 2, 2010 I just went to pay for our 2010 Fusion SE and was very surprised to learn that the dealer wanted to charge us 3 hours labor to put these on! As far as I'm concerned, it shows the price of $270 (minus our z-plan discount) when I ordered it and says NOTHING about there being a labor cost, so that should be it! Has anyone else had this experience of the dealer A) telling us they had to install it, not the factory; B) Getting charged 3 hours ($180) for it?? Hi rflanner. :D It is hard to answer definitively without being able to see the MSRP sticker and/or Purchase Order for your car. If ambient lighting was included on your MSRP (Window) sticker, then it was part of the Z-Plan price you paid for the car and was not added by the Dealer. However, if the Ambient Lighting was listed as some sort of Dealer added accessory, the yes, there could/may be a labor charge for the installation. I am not sure that Ambient Lighting is available from the factory on the SE. It is standard on the SEL but for the SE is only listed as an "available accessory" (not as an "option") on the Build and Price site. There is a difference between "available accessory" and option. That would lead me to believe it is a "Dealer added accessory". You need to determine what you ordered and how it is listed/described on your Window Sticker and Purchase Order. Let us know. Good luck. :beerchug: Edited February 2, 2010 by bbf2530
Herdmaster73 Report post Posted February 2, 2010 The real questions is .... Did you ask for the lighting to be installed by your dealer", you should always rmember these rules.... 1 - If it is on the window sticker then the dealer is not due anymore money becasue you have already paid for them when you ordered the car. 2 - If the dealer put them on without yo requesting them, it's the dealer's problem, not yors nd the dealer can either take them off or leav them installed without any charges to you. 3 - If you requested them and the factory did not install them, then you have to pay fo them. Howie411 Report post Posted February 2, 2010 I wish the ambient light colors adjusted the gauge lights too. Its nice that one of the ambient light colors is the light blue (cyan) but it always seems odd to use a different ambient color when all the dash lights are still cyan.
