Howie411 Report post Posted January 25, 2010 While new to this forum, I've had my FFH since May 09 and simply love it. I too, like most who have commented here, was looking for an extended warranty. My dealer offered me a ridiculous price ($1800 for $100 deductible 72month) and my credit union offered an after market company that we used for our 05 Escape who just is terrible. So i went looking. I contacted Ford directly and got their price, then I found: http://www.fordwarrantys.com/ Decent price. I contacted them and we chatted a bit, seems they are the EW Depot of the interent and can offer up excellent prices because they deal in volume and are not greedy. When I verified from Ford that any dealer can sell them, I bought one. Ended up with a 100.000mile/84 month $50 deductible for $1295. The best deal I could find. Did you order the premium care? Which one covers the NAV system and such? Below is the info I found, I was sorta looking at the $850 for 72/60,000 option with a $50 delectable. Figured I didn't need to be "nickeled and dimed". We've had the Ford EW on our 1995 Explorer and never had an issue with a claim. I always use the dealer. They cost more but do it right and if not, I can go to Ford and complain. Plus the difference between the $0 deductible and the $100 deductible was substantial, the $50 deductible was the sweet spot. Herdmaster73 Report post Posted January 30, 2010 The most dumb thing I ever did was purchase one of thses extend car warranty programs. If you are buying for the coverage for 72,000 miles for $1,000, you are reallly paying that $1,000 for another 36,000 miles for teh bumper to bumper coverage and youstill have to pay the firdst $50. It NOT WORTH THE MONEY. Put the $1,000 in the bank and draw for it if you have the porblem which you most likely will never need to. Most of the porblems show up during the first three (3) years and after that it's a vehicle reall porblem unless you are very hard on the vehicle
