devon Report post Posted October 13, 2019 Thats too bad about the battery meter. Another thing I like on my 18 is the MyView option on the left screen I set it up with the RPM tach and temperture gauge, was wondering if that got taken away from the 20 as well. another thing I like about the 18 is it was the last fusion you could get heated cloth seats. Cobra348 Report post Posted October 14, 2019 (edited) MyView is still around ... I have Trip 1 and water temp, but primary left screen is Empower. Right screen I have Fuel History typically. Heated cloth seats? Is that what they called ActiveX? Are those the cloth ones? In my '15, the '17 and the current I've had leather. Cobra348 Report post Posted October 22, 2019 (edited) And yet another couple items strike - fitment and Sync. Fitment: In the rear where the vertical part of the deck hits the faschia, look to the left and right sides. Is that part of the deck somewhat flush with the edge of the fender line? It should be. It was in my '15 and '17 models. In the one I have now, the right side is easily 1/4" short of the fender edge, yet the left side is where it should be. Looking at trunk alignment in general, I see no issues - gaps are even down the sides. So it appears the right rear fender unit is a bit too long or mounted a bit rearward of where it should be. Sync: When listening to radio - particularly Sirius (but it happens on AM and FM too), changing the station presets with the steering wheel control sometimes skips 2 or more stations in one hit of the switch. Today I had it on Sirius 1, preset 2, hit the control and it jumped to preset #5. Hit the back switch and it jumped to preset #6. And when I say "hit the switch" I do not mean a hard press/hold, but enough to trigger the switch and that's it. MP3 source does not have this "feature" happening. TBH, with all the things "wrong" between prior FFH models and this one I have deep regret that I ever bought this car. I would NOT recommend it for purchase to anyone. So if you are looking I say to you "move along ... nothing worth it here" <walks off in disgust> Edited October 22, 2019 by Cobra348
tbone Report post Posted October 22, 2019 Interesting stuff, thanks for continuing to update. I hate to say it since I love my FFH, but I'll probably be looking in Toyota's direction for my next vehicle/hybrid.

devon Report post Posted October 23, 2019 I think the escape hybrid looks promising and the explorer hybrid looks nice but yeah no more hybrid cars thats too bad, maybe they should just lengthen the mustang add 2 more doors and add a hybrid powertrain option that would be nice. Also looking at a 19/20 if you get the SONY stereo it still has a CD. Another thing about your stereo I found out the 19/20 ups have Sync v3.3 that has more powerful hardware then the sync 3.0 setup my fusion has. 2018 fusions cannot use the sync 3.3 software so you did get a good upgrade in that department. '20 SEL - as I have - is only Premium audio system (11 speakers). There is no other audio choice. BUT, the Titanium has the Sony system. What I have been told is what I wrote above - all Ford models in the 2020 model lineup do not have CD in them any more.

Ford's documentation clearly states the 2020 Fusion Titanium includes a CD player.

I geared my response to the CAR I HAVE, not something else. I also noted FFH Titanium has the Sony system but IMO unless I see that that system does have a CD, it doesn't exist. And when I walk thru the showroom and see vehicles in midline trim and no CD it ain't just the dealer saying it.

If you walked through the showroom and didn't see any cars in red, would you believe the dealer if he told you Ford doesn't make red cars anymore? While it is true that Ford is phasing out CD players - because they are expensive and people don't use them anymore - they aren't completely gone yet. Cobra348 Report post Posted October 24, 2019 I just checked FFH Titanium data on Ford.com ... the Sony unit in that trimline DOES have a CD player.
dogo88 Report post Posted October 30, 2019 Todays report ... and I think it'll be the last one unless I find something really whacky or different. Thanks for reading all this stuff! Compct spare mountingIf you purchased compact spare parts as noted here or via a salvage yard, you need to know this section. The inverted U bracket that the box assembly locates on is larger than the '17 (and perhaps other years). So, if you've installed a compact spare and get a '20, plan on perhaps enlarging the hole in the box assembly about 1/8" all around. You'll need a hot knife or grinding wheel due to the hardness of the plastic part. Depending on how much time you want to spend, a serrated blade will also work but will most likely be slow going. EDIT IN: Also there's a screw that will interfere. See my "If I remove this ..." thread. ... Question on which compact spare you put in the '20. My '19 has 18" tires and most of the Ebay sites with compact spares list 16" tires with a few listing 17". Any appreciable difference other than space in the trunk that I should be concerned about? Cobra348 Report post Posted October 30, 2019 Use this thread as a guide, but read the following before doing any decision-making! In the thread - invoice part# is the dealer part# to order, and you need to get the tire tread from TireRack or somewhere. This is for a new 16" donut spare. Using dealer parts and TireRack tread will cost in the neighborhood of $500 plus tax. A less expensive method is go to a salvage yard and get the spare and ALL parts (mounting box, jack, wrench) from a 2013+ gas Fusion. If your FFH has 17" rims, usage of this size compact spare is fine for any wheel. If your car has 18" rims the compact spare is recommended to be used on the rear because mounting it in front will mess with steering geometry - at least. To my knowledge there is no 17" compact spare for Fusions. As noted in this thread, the mounting hole in the jack mounting box needs to be enlarged - AND - there is that screw that needs to be removed. Energi has a different wheel offset and this may not work with that vehicle.
murphy Report post Posted October 30, 2019 A 16" rim will not clear the brake calipers on an Energi. The brakes are bigger, presumably because of the bigger battery.

Cobra348 Report post Posted November 7, 2019 I think I've doped out why the perimeter sensors are gone except for the rear. Park Assist is no longer a feature in the car and it used these sensors in its operation. But in the typical engineering fashion, they disabled items that have another desired function than to park the car. <sigh>
