  1. Could be a wheel bearing, I know on my 2011 it does the same thing but when I take a hard left turn the hum goes away, as soon as the weight shifts back to center the hum comes back. so maybe try some aggressive cornering and see if the sound changes.
  2. Replaced Thermostat finally, put in the good ole specialty green Motorcraft coolant. was a pain to burp the system but finally did and gave the car a good drive.
  3. Figured I would start with my TLDR story. back in 2018 bought a fusion hybrid brand new, loved the car. In 2020 I helped my girlfriend get a used 2012 fusion hybrid it had 191,000 but I knew they were tough and didn't worry too much about it. Fast forward to 2021 I got a new job in a different town and sold my house so I was living between places and having my car parked at my friends, his stupid dogs bit right into the rear quarter panels into the metal and all I was devastated. I think they were trying to get a rat or something I had it fixed but it wasn't the same overspray filler and all. I traded the car in and got a check and just relied on a older car. Finally in October of 2022 I put in for a new order for a maverick xl hybrid but of course it hasn't been built yet, and being tired of waiting I found a good deal on a 2011 Fusion hybrid so I bought it. Had ford do the 22g04 battery update and both airbags, car is doing good but needs the thermostat replaced which I plan on doing soon as it doesn't even get to middle of the temp guage, has 156,000 miles and the girlfriends 2012 has 216,000 now. I don't worry about the reliability since they both got the bullet proof Aisin HD-20 transmission. We both love our fusion hybrids, I miss the 18 and the better fuel mileage It got compaired to the 2011, the 2011 does seem zippier with that 2.5 liter engine. I guess the point of the story is I really do miss the 2018 but my 2011 isn't so bad and I look forward to maverick if and when it comes.
  4. doesn't look too bad but probably small chance we get it here.
  5. On my 2018 the warranty shows 8 year 100,000 mile on unique hybrid components and this should include the HF35 transmission, I think the 14 has the same warranty. I know of a few here who were close to 100k and got it replaced for free after the 5years/60k hopefully someone else will chime in on that. But with it being a 14 you would still only get 1 more year of warranty, I personally would try and find a 2017 up car, unless the 2014 is super cheap.
  6. As far as the decontent issues the 19/20 ford simplified the packages where you have to move up to a SEL to get heated seats, where they could be optioned on the 17/18 cars. I also know someone here was saying how ford took out some of the underhood weatherstriping on the 19/20s. That said the 19/20 models have the co-pilot 360 standard on the the SE and up so adaptive cruise would be nice and also these seems to be no reliability problems on the 19/20 where I think one person had to have his ECVT replaced his 18. If I had to do it all over again at this point I would get a certified pre owned from Ford to get the good warranty and get titanium or platinum like the poster above, that interior is drop dead gorgeous!
  7. Hello, my girlfriend just got a 2012 Fusion hybrid and the passenger low beam is out, I changed the bulb and unfortunately it did not fix the problem and it looks like someone already tried it. I also checked fuse number 8 inside the car as its susposed to control the right low beam. Anything I can try to fix?
  8. I want to throw this in here I own a 2018 and it just hit 12k miles I don't drive as much as I should and was getting some light brown sludge build up on the oil cap so I switched to a good quality synthetic (Pennzoil Platinum 0w20)and give it at least a 10 mile drive a week to burn all that stuff off and haven't seen anymore brown sludge on the oil cap.
  9. I think my car might be different, I have a eco button near the ebrake switch that I keep engaged most of the time and you can feel the difference in regenerative braking its most aggressive and acceleration is slower. When my cruise control is engaged it seems to keep the speed constant, I was always hoping someone from this site would see my car on I-5 is a Silver 2018 Fusion and I always set the cruise at 55 so that way I don't have to fight other motorists or truckers, I get flipped off alot but to me its worth the mileage since 55mph is the minimum legal speed in California I don't see a problem with it. On IN N OUT I do prefer the thinner burgers but agree its overrated I don't go all the time as its a 30 minute drive for me just to the restaurant.
  10. Yes the 2020 escape does have a hybrid option I think a member here bought one, It does have the bigger 2.5 Atkinson cycle engine and the battery is now liquid cooled so lets hope that doesn't cause any reliability problems. I also like how the second row seat can be moved forward or back which is a neat feature in small SUV. https://www.ford.com/suvs-crossovers/escape/models/escape-se-sport-hybrid/ Funny thing about you mentioning the covid pickup options I can't stand to see my mileage go down on the display so I will turn off the A/C and go through the drive thru on all battery power and just suffer being hot lol. I don't know if you have a IN N OUT burger over there but in California it can take over 30 minutes or more to get your food everyone loves that place.
  11. The end of July 2020 was the last month that the fusion would be made at the Ford Hermosillo Plant, now the Bronco Sport will be made there to replace it. I think the Fusion had a good run but it mirrors the Taurus story, ford had a great product didn't update it enough to keep up with the competition and in the end lowered the amount of options and started de-contenting the Fusion something they did with the Taurus in the 99 model year. It is a shame since not everyone wants a SUV and even the Bronco Sport that replaces it in the plant doesn't have a hybrid option. This is odd as the Escape does and they are based off the same platform and have the same ecoboost engines. Farewell Fusion i'll be driving mine for the forseeable future and want to thank the workers at Hermosillo for building a solid quality built automobile.
  12. I thought the rear dome light itself has a button, I might be wrong, but if that doesn't work on the light itself I guess the dealer will have to fix it for you.
  13. Looking good! kind of a coincidence I live in california and was washing my silver fusion today after changing the oil, the sun hitting the car reflected and was so bright I had to look away. Ingot silver really looks great on these cars. side note I use a leaf blower to help dry my car, really helps get the water out of the sideview mirrors and the water trapped in the lug nut holes on the wheels.
  14. Yeah I love that hatchback and the wagon would be sweet also.
  15. I just want to say I live in a town where the dumbest white people all own Jeeps and huge Dodge Rams that drive like douche bags and think they have the right away over everyone one else. I pulled out in my Fusion onto a normal 4 lane road with a Dodge Ram pulling out onto the same road with a trailer on the other side, he gunned it first but the hybrid was quick to respond and I was slowly pulling away from him up to about 60 till he gave up. I probably wouldn't have beat him if he didn't have a trailer but his trailer was empty, I usually don't race but I have had enough from all these lowest common denominator Fiat Chrysler piles of shit that roam the roads of my town.
