Eddie Sessum Report post Posted November 27, 2015 Is the ford sync team still on this site? I have an issue after the update that I would think to be a MAJOR bug that should be fixed. Basicly when my phone is connected bluetooth even if I have FM radio on any sounds my phone would make (Besides calls) are muted. Its telling my phone that bluetooth audio is active when it isnt. Any ideas?

Iwejun Report post Posted November 30, 2015 So I do the update yesterday everything goes fine, except when I go back to the download page to let whoever know that I updated it just goes to a page telling me what is on the update. I don't know if they got the word or not that I have updated, come on the owner pages could be done better IMO.
Luron Report post Posted December 2, 2015 Update: The latest 3.8 allows Siri to become active with a long 3 second push of the voice button. The iPhone doesn't have to be plugged in, it uses Bluetooth. I use texting all the time, and use text to voice to listen, it allows me to respond to text immediately. Push the voice button for 3 seconds until you hear the beep. I'll say, Siri send a text message to, whomever, Siri asks what do you want to say, dictate it then pause. Siri will repeat what you just said to confirm, then will ask to send, say yes, then Siri will say, sending. A great time saver while on the road.I am able to text by pushing voice button and holding for 3 seconds through Siri. However, I cannot text through MFT screen with preset messages setup by Ford. It keeps saying somthing like sending text failed. When somebody texts me while I am driving it does not alert me. Sync also mutes all notifications on my iPhone (emails, texts, etc.) when it is connected to my phone. I have 2016 FFH and updated software (11/2015). Other than that my iPhone 6 works well with Sync when making or receiving phone calls.Does anyone know how to make it work or experience the same issue? Hi lwejun, If you still have the file on your USB, you can use this link to report the update: https://owner.ford.com/tools/account/how-tos/keep-your-sync-up-to-date/report-software-version.html?step=prepare-sa#/prepare If not, run a Vehicle Health Report and it'll send the version number to your account. Hey Luron, iPhones cannot send texts via MFT; you have to use Siri in order to send them. To get notifications, be sure you have that setting turned on in your phone. Here are the instructions: https://owner.ford.com/how-tos/sync-technology/myford-touch/phone-setup/how-to-allow-sync-to-receive-text-messages-from-your-iphone.html?sync=my-ford-touch Let me know how it goes! I am pretty sure I have the most updated software since I just did the update in Nov 2015.
Goody Report post Posted December 3, 2015 Ford issued the official announcement today on the 3.8 update for all MyFord Touch vehicles back to 2011. However when I check the site I'm told that my 2013 Fusion Hybrid is up to date with 3.6.2. Anybody have a clue why this is?
GrySql Report post Posted December 3, 2015 Ford issued the official announcement today on the 3.8 update for all MyFord Touch vehicles back to 2011. However when I check the site I'm told that my 2013 Fusion Hybrid is up to date with 3.6.2. Anybody have a clue why this is? That is not unusual, the Ford Owner's website often displays incorrect Sync updates. Mine was always wrong.
smr2112 Report post Posted December 3, 2015 (edited) I have a 2013 Fusion Hybrid and I was able to update the software to 3.8. OK, and I have a 2013 Fusion Hybrid and it says my version (v3.6.2) is the latest and greatest...so what gives? Is Ford staggering the availability of this or is there some break in the model year where new version does ordoes not work? OK and GrySql says that Ford site is often wrong, so is there some way to safely override this and try toinstall from somewhere else? Ford of course says not to install from an untrusted source. Goody Report post Posted December 3, 2015 The Ford Sync website might be wrong often, but if it says MyFord Touch Sync is up to date, and it isn't, where do I go to get the update to download?
murphy Report post Posted December 3, 2015 The Ford Sync website might be wrong often, but if it says MyFord Touch Sync is up to date, and it isn't, where do I go to get the update to download? The 14th post in this thread has a link to download the 3.8 update. It's not on a Ford server. I installed it in my 2013 Energi and it works. I also updated my Sync account so the website knows that my car is now at 3.8. md13ffhguy Report post Posted December 4, 2015 The site also said that my '13 was current with 3.6.2. Since I have a '14 as well, I downloaded the update for that car and applied it to the '13. I was, however, able to upload the file back to the site and it now shows my '13 is up-to-date. Btw, I compared the zip file I downloaded, and the contents were identical in name and file size to those that were previously linked on this site. I haven't yet bothered to update the '14, because the update added virtually nothing of use to my '13.
Former Expedition owner Report post Posted December 6, 2015 (edited) After reading the article in Friday's USA Today that Ford will be upgrading MFT in all vehicles back to 2011 with Siri Eyes Free, I came here to this forum to find out what everyone's experience was. The Ford Owner's site said I was up to date with v3.6.2 on my 2013 HyTi. After reading IraF's post with the downloadable file, I prepared my memory stick and successfully upgraded Sync to v3.8. I now am able to use Siri Eyes Free. Thank you. Edited December 6, 2015 by Former Expedition owner
mcarvin Report post Posted December 8, 2015 Hey tr7driver, I believe the issue being discussed on the other forum is a known concern that only affects the 2015 C-MAXs; dealers do have a fix for it. :) For everyone: Should you have an issue with running a Vehicle Health Report, please make sure there's nothing plugged into the OBD II port, and try removing and re-adding your phone number from your Owner.Ford.com account. If those two steps don't correct the situation, please PM me with the error message and your VIN. Also, I'm still collecting VINs for those of you that do not see version 3.8 on your account, so send them over. Thank you to everyone that has already sent yours. Rebecca Hi Rebecca - seems like the issue with not showing the 3.8 update for '13 Fusion Hybrid owners hasn't been resolved yet. Are you still taking VINs via DM? 1 FordIVTteam reacted to this
FordIVTteam Report post Posted December 9, 2015 Hi mcarvin, Yes, I'm still taking VINs. We've changed the process a little, so please also include your approximate mileage and best contact phone number. Rebecca 1 mcarvin reacted to this
hytibill Report post Posted December 9, 2015 Thanks for the link, Ira! I upgraded with your upload, and it works perfectly. Now i'm on Version 3.8. I don't know about the Siri upgrade, but things are much, much snappier across the board.
hybridbear Report post Posted December 10, 2015 I haven't yet bothered to update the '14, because the update added virtually nothing of use to my '13.I'd say that 3.8 made things worse in some ways. For example, with 3.6.2 when a text message was received while the car was moving you could only listen to the message, not view it on the MFT screen. But, you could press the "view" button. This would bring up a screen that would say that the feature was disabled because the vehicle is in motion, but when the car would stop the text message would appear. This was very useful to me. If I got a text message and I knew I would be stopping soon, I'd press that view button & then I could see the text on the MFT screen once I stopped. With 3.8 you cannot press the view button unless you're stopped. We definitely will not be updating to 3.8 on the Fusion Energi & I wish there was a way to go back to 3.6.2 in our Focus Electric. Timewellspent Report post Posted December 10, 2015 I'm trying to figure out if updating to 3.8 killed my precondtioning and remote start options. Car doesn't heat up and all options greyed out for remote start.
airbusguy Report post Posted December 11, 2015 For all those that want the 3.8 update but cannot get it from the owners website.I called Ford In Vehicle Technology today. Canadian number 1-800-565-3673 (Select #1 for English, #2 for French, and then select 3 > 1) . They are aware of the owner.com screwup (confidence inspiring) and you have 2 choices. Wait til they manually add it to each owners website - no time frame or get the dealer to do it FREE for up to 12 months after the release date, Oct2015. Inspite of their tie in with Android Auto, no word on when they will do the same thing for Android phones "OK Google" -same as Siri- for those of us from the darkside.Their explanation of the updates on 3.8 are basically what has been floating around. Improved connectivity, auto reconnection with paired devices, improved bluetooth capabilities, faster execution of commands, Siri eyes free and the one we all have been demanding, navigation in China - if you spend the money on a Chinese map! 1 GrySql reacted to this
hybridbear Report post Posted December 12, 2015 I'm trying to figure out if updating to 3.8 killed my precondtioning and remote start options. Car doesn't heat up and all options greyed out for remote start.I doubt it. Did the dealer do any updates when this happened? That's what broke it for us. There's a thread on this forum where I wrote about it. Someone else had started it & I added my experience. I believe the title says something about "remote start greyed out". I have not had success now searching for it on my iPhone to give you the link, sorry.
