  1. Magic! It uses your phone to connect to a database and--ok, magic makes it easier to explain. Here's a link with video goodness; http://i.gizmodo.com/5127019/hands-on-ford...turn-directions
  2. Mine locks up as well---I cuss at it a couple of times and reset. Ah hell, I'm just looking for the score to the Lions game---pretty sure that they are losing no matter what.
  3. Not travel link---travel link is for the Nav system. It is an update to Sync---here's a link for more info; http://www.fordvehicles.com/innovation/syn...#page=Feature16
  4. Just realize that there is an enormous amount of blue coming from the dash and console stack (NAV) --- when using the blue tones on the ambient lighting it tend to enhance what is already there. The pink just makes my daughter happy. :hysterical2:
  5. They are included in the FFH but they are not under the seat in the front---they shine onto the floor. They stay on while driving.
  6. Yes, they do have the hook hole. The WT DigitalFit mats are thinner and more of a liner. The Toyota mats were comparable to the heavier all-weather mat that WeatherTech makes and the Ford branded mats.
  7. You can load and view photos---organize would be a stretch. Loading them is a bit tricky. It's in the Sync manual, but a few are max 32 pics, <1.5MB each, file naming restrictions, finalize the CD, etc. You can edit the photos once they are in, which is nice. You can zoom, crop, etc., to fit the screen. It will randomize, but the hybrid logo tended to be more random than other photos, so I turned that function off. Want to make your significant other happy? Put their photo on there. Want to sleep on the couch? Put a random photo of some beautiful person.
  8. I just received my DigitalFit liners this past week---first time that I've ever used WeatherTech. I was a little worried because '2010' was not on the box---just had 2006-2009 Fusion---but they went in nicely. Great fit and coverage compared to most other mats! I just wish they offered logos---even a plain 'Ford' logo would be better than the big WT ad.
  9. My FFH has Michelin Energy MXV4 S8. I'll be curious to hear how the FFH does in snow. I just moved from the midwest and I can imagine that the motor/engine transition could cause some havoc on very slick roads.
  10. Mine works great! How it works, I'm not sure. Must be magic. :hysterical2:
  11. Here is another online option---the lowest that I had looked at; http://www.myfordwarranty.com/ No endorsement is given but I did use their quotes when the dealer offered the exact same warranty. The dealer was MUCH higher but when I told them that I could get the same thing online for a much lower price (and a hearty chuckle at his proposed price), they asked the price and matched it.
  12. Found this on Autoblog for those interested in voting for the FFH or one of the other substandard models :hysterical2: ; http://internetcarandtruckoftheyear.com/Ca...iFinalists.html Click the "Vote Here" near the top right.
  13. I find it interesting and a bit tiring that there are so many on here to tell other folks what they should like and how to spend their money. We are all Fusion fans---most of you actually own one---and in that sense we have something in common. If you choose a different ride, nav, radio service, ok---it's your money and it's your choice. I may not make the same choice and that is still ok in the free world----last time I checked. Once someone here pays my bills, then you can make my choices. Opinions are awesome----attacks are ridiculous.
  14. The data is loaded on a hard drive and updates are issued on DVDs. The DVDs upload the updates to the hard drive---hopefully they will upload the Grace Note database updates as well.
  15. You can get Oprah here---- http://www.sirius.com/packages/best She's on the "Best" of XM which can be had with Sirius service for an additional charge (of course). Oprah?
  16. Yes, FFH has it---checked. There is also some sort of sensor in front of the cabin air filter door---I didn't go any further. While looking into the owner's manual, I did notice that it states "The air filter is designed to last the life of the vehicle." But it doesn't say whether it is referring to the engine or cabin air filter. I'm assuming it means engine air filter because there is nothing in the maintenance schedule about inspecting, changing, etc. It does refer to changing the cabin air filter, as required. An engine air filter that lasts the life of the vehicle?! Interesting. :do what:
  17. Engage. Killed the leaves too---I prefer the history graph with a 20 minute period (2 minutes per bar)
  18. Just curious if you used several folders or one on the DVD. I've been using the mp3s on DVD under one folder with no issues as of yet. I was wondering if maybe more folders caused a lag time or maybe I just don't notice the song transition time (which is highly likely). I'm really bad with listening to mp3s---tend to switch the songs before they end.
  19. I've never been a fan of power seats---too many options for my butt and back. It took me a few longer trips to find out what was good for me. The lumbar support was on when I bought mine and while it is supposed to help, it caused back pain. I dialed it out and it was much better. The good thing is that I can adjust the seats in all sorts of positions---the bad thing is that I can adjust the seat in all sorts of positions. I think I have it now. Traveled 1300 miles over the weekend and no problems---at least until my wife readjusts it for her. As bbf2530 said, I had driven Rangers for the past 16-17 years and my tush was a bit accustomed to that---cloth, no bolsters, 2 adjustments, etc. But I could tell that I would like the ride of the FFH. You certainly wouldn't want to buy a vehicle that you weren't comfortable in. There have been lots of vehicles where I liked the styling, engine, features, etc., but after driving, I wouldn't spend my money on the car/truck. Hopefully you will find one that is right for you!!
  20. Ummm---then buy the Garmin. Sounds like you are sold. No need to try to convince people how to spend their money. I had a Garmin---not that specific model---it was good but it was far from accurate or perfect. I cussed that thing on more than one occasion. I prefer the integration of the Ford system and it was worth the extra money---to me. I'm sure that I will cuss it as well someday. You prefer AWD? I wouldn't spend my money on it---that's me. It's all just preferences and luckily there are lots of options available to satisfy those preferences.
  21. I too was thinking about having the wheels chromed. I like the design---not bad, but we have the big chrome grille and painted wheels---just seems odd. If you find out the place or at least the process, please let us know.
  22. I received the Ford response today---- James, Thank you for your email. Unfortunately there isn't any information because we haven't received an official announcement concerning this. We have speculated that the Gracenote database update will be packaged with the map DVD update. At this time there isn't a map DVD update for the 2009-2010 vehicles. We should get additional information on the Gracenote situation when the map DVD update is release from Navteq. Once again there isn't an official release date for the map DVD update either, we are speculating a release by end of the year 2009. Sincerely, Robert Ford Motor Company SYNC Support Center --------- Ya gotta love 'speculation'---so maybe it will be with the nav update or maybe not.
  23. The updates won't be from Gracenote----their reply Hi Jim, Thank you for writing. Although Gracenote has been delivering solutions in the automotive market since 2001, each car company has a slightly different strategy for distributing database updates to their customers. Gracenote has licensing agreements with automobile makers such as Ford allowing Ford to use Gracenote technology in its automobiles. The way that Ford goes about updating and providing those updates to customers is entirely up to Ford. Gracenote does not individually update automobiles, devices, or applications. It is up to the developer of such automobiles, devices, and applications to provide updates or a means to update the application they have develooped. Since each developer creates their own way to provide these updates the best way to get further information is through the dealership from which you purchased your vehicle. The following link also includes ways to contact Ford: http://www.ford.com/owner-services/custome...rt/contact-ford I apologize that I could not be of service to you at this time. If you have any other questions regarding Gracenote technology please do not hesitate to contact me directly at the email address below. Best Regards, Ryan Charette Support Department | Gracenote Inc. | rcharette@gracenote.com --------- No response from Ford yet.
  24. I noticed that too! I figured it was to reduce drag. There is a good video at Jay's Garage that shows a lot of the little things that went into eeking out every little bit of better MPG (i.e. the wheels, the fog light housings, etc.) If you haven't seen it, here's the link; http://www.jaylenosgarage.com/video/video_...tml?vid=1095834
