  1. Looking around the corner for the next best thing causes a stiff neck but doesn't get you a new car.
  2. From a guy with two hearing aids and glasses, I found your reply very funny as did my family members.
  3. I want to post real gas mileage data that I have collected on our MMH since taking delivery in September of 09. I have tracked every tank of gas on an I-Phone app. It is 5.2 miles to work all of which is in-town driving. I would guess that about 40% of our miles are on the highway. The app also graphs the gas usage and I have found that the graph matches the temperature with low mileage equal to low temperature. Our long term mileage is 31.98. Yes, I have many runs with 40, 50, 60 and even 70mpg but for every good run there are more 20 to 30mpg runs. We could not be happier with our MMH. We may be replacing our Camry so I have been checking out the MKZH on the Lincoln site. Sorry to see Mercury die. We dislike the FF nose so it has to be a Lincoln. We aren’t sure we can handle the extra $$ for the Lincoln. Those that are claiming such high mileage, their cars must always be warmed up, they must live in Florida but don’t need an AC, and no matter where they go it is downhill. If they are truly driving they way they describe I am glad I am not following them. 4. I haven’t been contacted by phone in over two weeks by the people at Sirius and since my free subscription was about to expire I called them. I called both the phone number that has been posted in the previous discussions and the number listed in the Sirius renewal notice. In both cases I was informed that the lowest they would go on Sirius Everything was $12.95 and $5.95 for Travel Link. I will miss them but $18.90 is way too much to pay.
  5. I took mine in today for reprograming. I did loose my long term gas mileage and it did reset my dash display to a differet setting.have been keeping my milage on the IPhone GasBuddy app so I still have great records on my mileage.
  6. Maybe Ford will trade you out for a LTD with a 8-track. It would ride like the cars you use to own and no more computer problems.
  7. I took mine in last Friday for an oil change and tire rotation. They never said a word to me about the letter I received today from Ford. Got to love it. The only dealer in sixty miles offers great service again.
  8. This is how many of the cars are built today. There is discussion on this subject under the window tinting topic.
  9. I see another debate on tax law coming.
  10. I have about 2,700 miles on my MMH. The trip to work is about 5-miles and takes about 15-minutes. With the temperature at about 60 degrees or above I was just starting to get about 34 to 42 mile/gal on a cold start in the morning. For the last two weeks the temperature has been between 17 and 34 degrees. I have averaged anywhere from 17 to 26 miles/gal since the cold temperatures started. At 17 degrees the Milan does not go into EV except at stop lights. It just doesn’t warm-up enough. If I can drive it long enough in the cold weather to get the gauge up to the halfway mark, my trip mileage goes up to the 36 plus mark. The problem is that the car cools down really fast when it is in EV. It drops out of EV in stop and go traffic. Love the car but hate cold weather.
  11. Wish I had a camera on front air scoop to keep me from dragging it on curbs and car stops when parking. Push a button and see the area just in front of the car like you do when you back-up. It seems that are curbs and car stops are about a ¼ inch higher than the bottom of the front air scoop. It is like fingernails on a chalkboard. I guess you would need a wiper for bugs and road kill. :hysterical:
  12. The reason I chose our MMH was that it didn’t look or feel like a Hybrid. When I pull up beside a Prius I find it difficult to keep from sticking my tongue out and saying Na--Na Na—Na—Na –I’m driving a real car.
  13. I’ve had a MMH for about two months. Every time I drive at night I have at least one if not multiple cars flash their lights at me. My wife told me not to follower her at night anymore because she has to move here side view mirror so it doesn’t shine in her eyes. I see no need to put an even brighter headlight in the car. I haven’t had a need to try the fog lights but will probably have to as winter hits.
  14. it's the same for our MMH. We have to reset it when she rides with me. It stays on until I drive by myself. Then next time she gets in we have to reset it to dual.
  15. Sunday afternoon, after 2:00, I took my wife to Sonic for a half price drink. We placed those famous Sonic cups in our well designed MMH cup holders located on the center console. I put the car into reverse and started backing up while watching the large back-up screen in the dash. It was at that moment that I noticed my wife pick-up my drink cup with my IPhone sticking half in and half out and while the cup was leaking Diet Coke everywhere. It seems that when I put the Milan in reverse I pushed the IPhone through the side of the Sonic cup. My second mistake was to then pull the phone out of the cup. You cannot imagine how fast Coke can exit through 2 1/2” X ½” hole. My third mistake was trying to throw the leaking cup out the Milan’s window before I had rolled it all the way down. I was able to get the car cleaned up without much trouble but my IPhone no longer works. I called Apple and told them that I had pushed my IPhone through the side of full Sonic drink cup when I put my MMH into reverse. The Customer Service Representative very nicely informed me that “There Is No App For That.” I had insurance on the IPhone but there isn’t coverage for stupidity. I’ve got an appointment with the Apple Store in KC tomorrow to buy a reconditioned IPhone. I no longer drink and drive.
  16. I hadn't noticed a problem before your question was raised so I checked today. The tinting on our MMH was under the rubber and you cannot see the edge of the tinting material.
  17. I also got mine from also confirm your ESP purchase. I did that after I purchased ESP. My warrant is purchased at http://www.ford-warranty-online.com/ which is owned by Michael Potts. He called and talked to me himself. My dealer would no match the price. He said he had to feed his kids, like Mr. Pott's doesn't.
  18. By the time I get my seatbelt on the the startup screens have finished. You guys must be fast.
  19. Mine started doing it at 800 miles. It will sometimes ask twice in the same day. The report always shows that everything is ok. Will see what others have to say.
  20. I'm betting that you have 100 miles on it before you stop to eat tomorrow night. You will also think about sleeping in it. Your fun is just beginning.
  21. I feel your pain and wish you the best but WOW what a car!
  22. We had our windows tinted today on our MMH. When I first talked to them about doing the windows I expressed lots of concern over the dots on the back window. They were not worried. They said they did have a few problems with that type of window until they found a technique that worked. They went on to explain that they install the tint to fit and then pull the tint down to the bottom of the dots. They use a hair dryer to dry the dots then carefully reapply the tinting while squegeeing the tinting over the dots. I was told that they have to be extremely careful because there is no taking it off again without damaging the tint. If they get a wrinkle they have to cut a new piece and start over. I picked up our Milan and it was perfect. It Looks GREAT. The areas around the dots have the same appearance as the area in the center of the window. Now I have to remember not to roll the windows down for 3-days. I’ll be the one to screw it up.
  23. AMAZING, 16-weeks and 2-days and our Atlantis Green MMH 300A package with navigation was delivered today (Friday). We received a phone call from FCC Thursday morning while on vacation in Colorado. The FCC said “Your MMH is to arrive at your dealer at any moment.” We immediately left for HOME. Arriving late we drove by the dealer’s lot but didn’t see our car. By 11:30 a.m. Friday we hadn’t received a call from the dealer so I drove by and parked in back of their lot. I walked by each of the service bays but didn’t see our Milan. In the very back of the shop, separate from the rest of the service area, are garage doors with small windows. I walked up looked behind door number one and there was a new Atlantis Green MMH. I called my wife and told her that the car was in the dealer’s lot. Why hadn’t been called to schedule delivery? I drove out of the lot and headed to the Ford lot where our salesman works. Yes, that’s correct. The dealer in our town has the Ford dealership in one location and the Lincoln-Mercury dealership several blocks away in a different location. I started out looking for a FFH not knowing that there was such a thing as a MMH. When we were told of the MMH we found that we liked it much better. The sales personnel can sell from both locations so the Ford salesman sold us our Mercury. I had only traveled three blocks when I got a call from the sales manager for the Mercury dealership. He asked if I had just left his location. I said yes. He then informed me that our car was in and I could come by and pick it up at any time. It was detailed and ready to go. It just amazed me that after he saw me leaving his location that I receive a call to inform me our car that had been ordered more than 16 weeks ago is ready to go. Why didn’t I get a call from him the day it was delivered or a call prior to me seeing the car in his building and he seeing me leaving his lot? When we picked up the MMH I asked for a discount on an ESP. The business manager came out to see me and gave me a price of more than $1,600. I had already checked out several ESP’s on the internet. The business manager actual said that he knows that the ESP is $200 cheaper on the internet but the extra $200 is his profit so he can feed his kids. Moving on, our salesman did a great job of showing this old guy all the electronics. The problem is this old guy can’t remember what he had for breakfast let alone how to “Call Home.” I read the manuals twice before we took delivery but tonight I started my third time and I am sure tomorrow will bring my forth time. We put on about seventy miles today. My seventy-five year old father drove a few of those miles. It was worth the price we paid just watching him drive his first” Hybrid.” He looked and acted like a teenager. His smile couldn’t have been any bigger. It may have been a lousy experience but what a “GREAT CAR.”
  24. Our MMH 300A has navigation. They will not say anything about our order except to blame Ford for the delay. They have only received one MM since our order was placed. Their lot is empty because of C4C.
