  1. This probably belongs in a "things I would like to see in new models" thread, but since we are talking about cooling, I sure wish Ford would have put an "auto windows down" feature in their remote. My 2003 Accord had this and I used it all the time in warmer months. I could hold down the unlock button and all the windows would go down. I could do this as I approached the car, and have it cooled down by the time I got in. It's probably the one biggest feature I miss the most. Other than that, I love my FFH!
  2. I have to agree. The company is an abomination. As XM (XM online) they screwed me and many others with a bait and switch when they changed to a "premium" online service. The response I got from their "customer service" was arrogant and rude. Just Google it if you have the stomach. The Sirius service I have as a trial with my new FFH provides horrible sound quality. Sure, if you are listening to talking heads and not music, it may not bother you. But I like music, and I hate poor sound quality. Especially in the wonderfully quiet confines of my FFH. So for me it is a no-brainer. Hook up the iPod, fill the hard drive with CDs, and I am good to go. See ya Sirius/XM. PS... I love my FFH!
  3. Anybody else find the volume of the turn signal on the FFH to be too loud/annoying? I assume that the annoyance factor is enhanced because of the wonderfully quiet car, but I find myself turning off the signal all the time. I don't suppose there is any kind of volume setting for this (other than the radio volume to drown it out :-), is there?
  4. Well, in my case at least, it is pretty clear the problem was due to the RainX. The wipers are functioning just fine now. Guess I will check out the invisible glass product. Thanks for all the input.
  5. Thanks for all the input. Any ideas on how to remove the Rain-X?
  6. Anybody with a FFH (or 2010 Fusion) having issue with the wipers bouncing, and not gliding smoothly in rain? I checked the blades and they seem pliable, although they seem to bend better in one direction than the other. The bounce is much more intense in one direction, and got pretty violent in the last big rain storm. I did put Rain-X on the windows right after I got the car home. I wonder if it is doing something? I have always used Rain-X as it seemed to help things on my old Accord. Only had the car for a few days, but love it so far!
  7. Update 7/31/09 Picked up my FFH tonight. So, exactly 9 weeks from order to delivery in NC. I know what I will be doing this weekend!
  8. I got an update on my FFH ordered on May 30. I now have a VIN. According to the dealer, it's history shows ''PRODUCED" as of yesterday, July 17. Sent to plant July 10, to the 'trim line' July 16. Current status is "Awaiting Shipment", still in Hermosillo... a revised Estimated arrival date is August 3. So, look like 9 weeks from order to delivery (to NC).
  9. Ordered FFH with 502A package on May 30. On June 17 was told production date was scheduled for July 14. Yesterday was told delivery should be no later than Aug 1. Still no VIN. Maybe tomorrow?
  10. I read an article written June 1 on SmartMoney that explained the stimulus bill has made it possible for folks affected by the AMT to claim the hybrid tax credit in 2009. I also found this quote: In the past, though, taxpayers who were subject to the alternative minimum tax were ineligible for the hybrid tax credit. In addition, some taxpayers who were close to the threshold for the AMT saw the amount of their credit reduced. However, a clause in the stimulus bill allows taxpayers who are subject to the AMT to claim the credit, starting this year, says Amy McAnarney, executive director of H&R Block's Tax Institute. The credit, which is scheduled to expire at the end of 2010, can't exceed your tax liability, she says. I hope this is true as I just ordered a Fusion Hybrid and I fear I will be trapped by the AMT again this year.
  11. I just placed an order for a Fusion Hybrid with the 502A package (loaded with everything but remote start) for $29,782.23 under the Ford Partners X-Plan. Taxes (3% in NC) and title ($74) were additional. I was surprised the dealer accepted X-Plan pricing, but because it was an order, and didn't come out of their allocation, they were fine with it. I was told that orders made before June 9 would be given build priority over dealer allocations.
