  1. Hybrid unique components are covered 10years/150k in California. I think others states are 8 years/100k if I remember right? For any case, extended warranties do not extend them.
  2. Got it at the same place...smr2112 referred me to them. 7yr/100k for $1205 ($50 deductible). Some say it's a waste of money, I don't mind it because it's transferrable and adds value if I want to sell the car later (maybe for a newer Fusion). There is a surcharge if you wait 1 or 2 years into your standard warranty. Dealer offered me the same plan for $2450. What a scam!
  3. Mark, I'm assuming that the engine is cold each time you begin the 2.5 mile commute. If so, the engine needs to warm up (more or less when the temperature icon turns green if you are using Empower dash setting) and therefore less efficient. Yes, MPG gets better after 1500-2000 miles but it will not improve greatly on those short commutes.
  4. I'm pretty sure each function is designed to have separate volume levels. If you use the voice navigation, the volume is controllable when the navigator is speaking - and the level is held there until you change it again. I thought the phone volume will be kept at the last level you had it at, but I don't spend enough time driving and talking to notice either way. I definitely would want separate volumes for different functions.
  5. You must be in California (Orange County?)...I paid same rate for mine plus increase in license fees.
  6. Seeing that no one was uploading Med Lt. Stone interior for Westcoaster I took some of mine, but GreenGene beat me to it...anyway it's up on the below link. Most are quick, bad shots, but there are some clear ones there also. http://s768.photobucket.com/albums/xx328/2010FFH/
  7. Hey no offense, but how come you only find the negative review the "honest" one? I personally have not noticed this. Compared to my 1996 Toyota 4Runner, this rides much smoother but I will try to pay more attention to how it feels going over potholes, etc.
  8. Thanks! I'm unsure what % darkness it is. I selected medium (I think they had light, medium, dark and limousine). Here's the product: http://www.madico.com/WindowFilms/Auto_Products.asp Are you going to get ceramic film? It's quite a bit more than metallic film but much higher heat/UV rejection (better for your interior and body exposure to UV rays if you spend a lot of time driving)
  9. I don't have this problem at all. Maybe try a different brand phone. It could be phone problem. If not, take it to the dealer to have it looked at.
  10. Yeah, the tint didn't adhere to black dots as well as I want it. I'm living with it since the tint guy told me ahead of time that it is difficult to make it look perfect (told me to bring it back in one week, which I did, but did not adhere well still). I'm hoping with time it will all even out. In retrospect, I should have asked to not have the tint on the top black dots.
  11. Here's my Platinum White Tri Coat/502A http://s768.photobucket.com/albums/xx328/2010FFH/ I added medium ceramic tint for all side and rear windows.
  12. That's the way I understand it...although I learned something new about "refundable tax credit." Thanks! I pay too much in federal taxes so I'm sure I'll get my full $3400 back :)
  13. I agreed on a price with the dealer before putting a deposit down. Did you not do that?
  14. Sorry about your experience, but if you are able to separate the dealer's customer service part with vehicle experience (once you have it), I guarantee you will forget about the former! Just don't use those guys to do any future maintenance, etc.
  15. Spoke too soon...Page 298 of Owner's guide says Motorcraft SAE 5W-20 Premium Synthetic Blend Motor Oil (US) or Motorcraft SAE 5W20 Super Premium Motor Oil (Canada). Page 297 says Oil filter is Motorcraft FL-2017-B. If you take it to the dealer to do the change, they should be using these.
  16. I don't believe synthetic is necessary for this vehicle, but that's just me. rlawson, if you're taking it to the dealer, they shouldn't screw it up since they're supposedly certified to perform maintenance on hybrids.
  17. Ford says the date for your DORA is the one you use for claiming credits. I ordered mine in 3/30 and I'm sticking with their claim when it comes to tax time!
  18. Simple guess: you and your car and full tank of gas ~4,000lbs. With about 100lbs less, you have 2.5% less weight. My guess, 2% (+/- .5%) difference.
  19. Never thought I'd buy a Ford...my other vehicle is a 1996 Toyota 4Runner Limited (186k miles and still running strong)
  20. I didn't know that the front bracket had to be drilled into the front fender when I ordered it. Eight weeks later I got the car and found the front bracket in the trunk and nothing drilled. Boy I was lucky!
  21. Tint your vehicle and you'll experience less AC demand during your drive. One of the bigger selling points for ceramic tints is less UV and heat which means less AC demand, UV damage to your interior, and less UV exposure to car occupants.
  22. What sucks is that it didn't reset my permanent odometer :)...or trip A/B odometer either. Just averages and the dash setting.
  23. Something weird happened to my dash yesterday. I filled up and drove home, then made a couple of small trips and done for the night. I woke up this morning and started my drive and found that the dash went from Empower to Enlighten and all my short term averages are gone. No one else at home to mess with my car, which is in a garage all night. Anyone else experience this? Seems like it reset itself to some kind of default setting.
  24. Westcoaster, before you throw a fit (you may be right about your guess of C4C sale on your order) check out this website for cost of doing what you are thinking (buying in CA) vs. acquiring this vehicle from your state and bringing it to CA. Looks like you will pay somewhere around 3k in tax and license in CA OR about $1k for registration into the state (of course you should get a pro-rated refund from your current state). CA sales tax can vary from city to city or county to county. The highest sales tax is 10%. Most are about 8-9% (come sooner and help bail our state out of deficit) :). Also the VLF has just increased in May. For this vehicle, probably about ~$200 higher this year than last. https://mv.dmv.ca.gov/FeeCalculatorWeb/index.jsp
  25. They must have driven like me...I stink in this game. I guess I'm lead-footed as I get only about 36MPG :(
