Sold! Someone picked them up and refused to take them for nothing! I did well.

I posted this on the Energi forum but there has been no interest so far. I just swapped my winter tire/wheels from my Fusion Energi. 17 inch wheels including TPMS, lug nuts and training tool (for TPMS on some early cars). Fits 2013 to 2016 Fusions and probably newer ones as well. Originally from Tire Rack. The tires are Michelin X-ice3 with 17,000 miles. I am returning this lease car soon and can't use them on the replacement. I am in Henderson NC and don't want the bother of packing and shipping. To my NC friends, these are great in the mountains and allow the use of true summer tires.

When is a hybrid component not a hybrid component?
PJFW8 replied to rpreuss's topic in Lounge - Fusion Hybrid Talk
Not sure, but I've had to escalate with customer services and Ford executive services a couple of times. Frustrating but ultimately successful. Since Ford began allowing customer service to use this and other forums things have greatly improved. My point is you sometimes need to push. The dealer is not always willing to go to bat for you especially with cars they prefer not to sell or service like the CMax and Fusion hybrid/Energi. -

Except that customers have had trouble having transmissions replaced under the hybrid as opposed to the drivetrain warranty. -

Take them to court and no judge will disagree with you! The warranty may require mediation (haven't looked recently) but that is even easier. Don't be shy! "Unique hybrid component" has a plain meaning and this is unique to a hybrid system. I hear Ford also claims that the transmission is also not unique. Non-sense. I was a lawyer for 36 years and did the last 11 as a circuit court judge. This would be fun. You CAN do this yourself. -

Same here! Finally works well. -
I intend to install the 2011 blind spot mirror glass when the parts are available. Swapped the mirror glass on my '08 Edge with the '09 blind spot mirror. Excellent and easy! Probably will not reconnect the blis light. I like the blis idea, but in practice it is not reliable. If I get an '11 Edge I will avoid this option!

Not to worry. This is a common problem. My car is nearly one year old. It doesn't like urban area medians. My friends with '10 Fusions report the same behavior. There are also similar reports on this forum. This is a glitch which is not an indicator of things to come. Hopefully Ford will have a "fix" soon. It is annoying!
-
Exactly! I had it done. When the car came back it was in a different mode. I think the brake feel is slightly better.

My fan checed out ok. (If it's not my car, the truck ahead of me has a problem.) If this happens again I'll follow-up with a post!

Thanks ! Blower is working but I'll check today if all speeds work. The smell is consistent with a burned resistor!
-
Blower seems ok. I'll check again. The smell occured about 15 minutes after starting. Lasted just a few minutes.
-
Last Sunday I had a similar smell in my FFH: an acrid burnt electric smell. It went away and everything seems ok. Blower fan is normal. This is spooky!

I have front annd rear mats for my FFH. They fit well! Said '09 on the shipping slip.

Has anyone checked the practicality of adapting the Milan LED tail lights?

My key is fine, although the unlock button is finicky and range is shorter than the factory key. Two thoughts: 2010 European C-max has a flip key. I wonder if it is compatible? Could a blank US blade be modified to fit in the flip key we are using?
-
Great post! My key cutter had no problem, but this clearly removes the only practical concern with this key. Nothing like a photo!
-
Mine works either way. My dealer cut mine for free. He had no problem with the key, although it is not an exact blade match.
-
If you like the folding key (I really do) this is a great value. $49 plus shipping is less than 25% of dealer cost for folding keys (VW, Audi BMW, for example). The seller provides excellent customer service. What I really want is keyless ignition!

Good report. My FFH is at 5500 miles...37.5 average. It would be higher but for the many short cold engine trips I do. Easy to get mid to upper 40's otherwise. The big surprise is how much I like the car. It replaced an '06 Mercedes C280 4matic. I don't miss it! My previous favorite car was an Acura TSX. Ford certainly hit a home run! s

Upgrading internal storage of the head unit
PJFW8 replied to hyfus10's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
It's a 40GB drive. 10GB is reserved for our use. But why risk unintended consequences? You can buy a portable 500GB drive, load it up and "plug-in" to the usb port. Sync will control it. An upgrade to the internal drive may lack software support! -
Can't see how it would be different than any other remote.
-
I agree that it is a good compromise. But it is a compromise! I've owned an Acura TSX which was good on the highway, not so good in town. What surprised me about the Fusion is how good it rides. Much more of a driver's car than a Camry or Accord. It is better than my "06 Mercedes Benz C280 4matic ...similar as to ride and handling but much quieter. It is a real pleasure to drive. That being said, my neighbor's 2009 Buick is quiet and rides beautifully, even in town on lousy roads. If I never had to turn a corner or buy gas it would be great. If ride and comfort are #1 concerns an MKS or 2010 Buick LaCrosse is the way to go. For me, I'd still get the FFH.

Traded my Lexus RX400h on an Edge. Miss the HID's and auto wipers, but love the sync and better nav on the Ford. The Ford is much better on the road, also. Liked it enough that I traded my '06 MB C280 4matic on an FFH. No regrets (except for the HID's etc. I am spoiled). Never thought I'd buy a Ford!

Thanks for the post Oman. Great review. I've had my FFH since mid April. It is much better than I expected. Mileage is fine. The real surprise is how much I enjoy driving the Fusion.
