Stick with the Michelins. They're great tires. I'm on my second set on my 2013 Hybrid SE, and my lifetime mpg is 48. I regularly get 50+ mpg on trips around Denver.

Many thanks. At 84, I don't imagine I'll live long enough to see my FFH reach 100,000 miles.?

Taking my 2013 FFH in for its 60,000-mile oil change soon and the dealer says Ford calls for a transmission flush at 60,000 miles. I don't see anything in the owner's manual about this. Is it really needed? Car's transmission was replaced under warranty at 5,000 miles and the vehicle has been trouble-free ever since. Thanks in advance.

2016 Fusion Hybrid transmission broken again

Doesn't the replacement have some sort of warranty? -
2019 hybrid SE, CV joints rattling at 75-80k miles?

My 2013 FFH SE is as tight as the day I drove it off the dealer's lot 8 1/2 years ago. -
Yep. We've used them for years and have never had anything but top-notch service and good prices.

FWIW, the Tire Pressure Sensor Fault warning light came on in my 2013 FFH SE. I took it to the local dealership, which checked it out and said the left rear sensor was not working. They quoted me $180 to replace it. I declined. I stopped by Discount Tire on the way home and they told me they'd replace it for $70. I made an appointment for the next day and had it replaced for $75, including tax.

Ford Fusion Hybrid 2018 - long distance?
ceilidhdog replied to fordfusionAL123's topic in General Discussion
My experience with my 2015 FFH is the opposite, meaning it's needed no repairs at all. I second this. We love our 2013 FFH SE. It's been extremely reliable, and is averaging 47.7 mpg with 42k on the clock. We've taken it on several trips from Colorado to Iowa and to Oregon. I'd not hesitate to drive it anywhere.- 12 replies

Since the site went down and came back up, where's the "New Content" tab? I can't find it anywhere. Thanks in advance.

I live in Denver, and my 2013 FFH SE does not have an engine block heater. I've never had any problems, although the car is garaged at night. It rarely goes below zero here. Depending on how long you plan to stay in Denver, I'd not worry about a heater. Just my humble opinion.

The same thing happened to me last week on my 2013 FFH SE. When I turned the car on, the touch screen was dark. Then SYNC and "updating" appeared. After a minute or so, the touch screen came on and everything was normal. I have a new 12v battery, so that isn't the issue. I just assumed SYNC was updating itself, as the message said.

Thinking about purchasing a Ford Fusion Hybrid
ceilidhdog replied to SteamRollerOVD's topic in General Discussion
There's no reason you can't average in the mid-40s. I do it in Colorado, where the heater is on most of the winter and the AC is on most of the summer. I doubt that you'll get as high MPG as you did with the Prius. But the Fusion is stylish, very nice to look at. There's a reason that some of us refer to a Prius as an "appliance": it looks very much like a toaster on wheels. -
Yes. This worked exactly as you described. I had searched with the left button on the steering wheel, but couldn't find anything about the VHR. Once I used the gear button, everything was there. Thanks so much!

So, Ford has stopped the Vehicle Health Report. But my 2013 FFH SE apparently didn't get the message. For the past month or so, every couple of days an alert pops up on the screen asking if I want to run a VHR. If I say OK, it goes through the motions and then tells me the report can't be delivered now and to try again later. It's more an annoyance than anything else, but does anyone have an idea how to stop these alerts from popping up? Thanks in advance.

New Configuration feature of FORScan 2.3 for Windows
ceilidhdog replied to Automate's topic in Maintenance & Do It Yourself
If you want to have the DRL turned on in your 2013 FFH, ask your dealer. I did, and they originally charged me $80. But then I explained that it was a safety feature and that other dealers had done it free of charge (according to this forum), and he eliminated the charge. -
Good for you! We just signed up to have solar panels installed on our home in Denver. We're in the permit-approval stage right now, and the panels should be installed next month. We're very anxious to see how they work. In anticipation, my son and I took out our old natural gas water heater and replaced it with an electric heater.

Most Efficent FFH Highway/Internet Speeds

The first 300 miles was a gradual drop of a couple thousand feet. The last 300, from the middle of Nebraska into Iowa, was pretty much flat. ;) -

Recently went on a 600-mile trip from Denver to Iowa in our 2013 FFH SE. The first 300 miles on I-76 and I-80 the cruise was set at 71 mph and the car showed 49mpg. The second 300 miles, following my brother-in-law at 75-80 mph, the car got 39 mpg. -

Finally decided to try it... and made it! I'm especially happy because the driving was done at Denver's mile-high altitude... with occasional AC. Love this car!

If you have an independent mechanic you trust, ask the dealer to let him give the car a thorough inspection. We just bought a 2010 Escape Hybrid with 150k miles on the clock. It's a great vehicle, and it rides and drives like new. FYI, they're using Escape Hybrids as taxicabs in New York City, and many have 300k+ miles and are still going strong. Good luck with your purchase. I think you'll really like the FFH.

Thanks so much! Very much appreciated.

Okay, folks, I'm at a loss. I'd like to post a photo to the forum. So, I clicked on the "Site Feedback and Help" link, then went to the "How to Use This Site" link. Up popped Robertlane's instructions. But, when I clicked on any of the links, this message appeared, "an error occurred while processing this directive". Okay, so I then clicked on the "Contact Us" link. I sent a message explaining my problem, and then I waited... and waited. That was more than a week ago, and so far... nothing. Can anyone provide instructions for posting a photo? I'm guessing it's pretty simple, but easy-to-understand directions would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
