  1. Right, and I'm sure you consent to it somehow, if that's the case.
  2. I don't know for sure, but there's never been anything to indicate your location (collected for this purpose) ever leaves your car.
  3. BINGO! Too simplistic. I get the generalization, but to pin specific numbers to it is misleading. You can't generalize like that and apply it to drivers in Maine, Florida, Nevada, Michigan, mountains, cities, etc... So many variables in play with these cars, which btw, are awesome. ;)
  4. Your constant recommendation to increase tire pressure is not a cure-all, and probably somewhat irresponsible. Some drivers will not understand the effects this could have... unintended consequences and all that. Yeah, Michelin rep, blah, blah, blah.
  5. Do you use remote start? The gas burned in that mode doesn't show up in your dash mpg. My 2012 had remote start and I noticed the effect when I used it in winter.
  6. No. It does seem to operate the same way when using cruise control, though. Unlike with the older setting, I guess the idea is that it also provides a benefit when not using cruise control. At this point, I can only assume it does. I'll have to do some experimenting.
  7. That's what it was in my previous 2013 and my wife's 2014, a setting for cruise control. In my 2018, it's different. There's an actual button on the center console to engage/disengage Eco mode. When engaged, it seems to lower the threshold for regenerative braking, which can make the car seem sluggish at times. That doesn't really bother me, as I bought this car for economy, not performance. It'll still go when I push harder on the accelerator pedal. I've left Eco mode engaged, with seemingly good results.
  8. I use it 100% of the time. There are too many other variables over the course of any tank to attribute a 1 mpg difference to just one factor, but I may try turning it off for my next tank, just for kicks.
  9. I haven't found significant odometer variances in any of the 3 cars I've owned. On the other hand, the dash numbers in my 18 are currently about 4.9% higher than my Fuelly numbers.
  10. You know that posting numbers here without any context is kinda meaningless, right? Dash #? Lifetime? Recent avg? Manual calc? Last tank? Last 5 tanks? One person's 37 is another person's 40.
  11. Oh, that's what I thought at 80k! 95k too! Not so much at 100k... Still, there was no Toyota in my future, either.
  12. The first warning sign I noticed when the battery died in my 2013, was when the doors wouldn't unlock when the remote was pressed... That was 28 months in (car has since been replaced). My wife's 2014 is still on the OEM battery, with 100k+ miles. Maybe she's on borrowed time.
  13. Think Camry and Accord will go away? Will Mercedes and BMW stop selling sedans? I doubt it.
  14. I'm not cheering or particularly upset about it. Really, I'm just a bit baffled. It's odd to think that when we're next in the market for vehicles, Ford may not be offering anything we'd be interested in buying. Or, maybe our interests will change...? Btw, I read that Ford had confirmed final production for Focus, Fiesta, and Taurus, but left the door open for Fusion... so, you never know.
  15. Also, regarding sedans, I prefer driving a car over an SUV, especially over my long commute or longer trips. I also like having room for passengers. You can't put adults in the back of a Mustang.
  16. I agree with the sentiment here. I've owned 5 sedans over the past 25 or so years. I have a truck, but it's for when I need a truck. No interest in driving that thing on a daily commute. @Cobra348, I agree with reducing trim lines, but in my mind Platinum and Titanium are both more than what I need. Nicely equipped SE level cars suit my needs and my wallet just fine.
  17. Your thread title doesn't indicate that you have an audio system question. A few have done that, but it's not common. Yeah, you might have to search some other forums for that.
  18. I have Android Auto, rather than Apple, but when I get a call, it does take over the screen, but I just touch the map button and the navigation display returns. Apple Carplay doesn't do that?
  19. Agreed. It was so generic as to be totally useless to me for my 2013 and 2014 vehicles. Told me nothing I didn't already know.
  20. I had a 13, now an 18, and my wife has a 14. There are subtle differences in how each has felt to me. On the other hand, my wife probably wouldn't notice any differences. Although I believe the mechanics are essentially the same among them, I do believe there are some software differences between them that affect the transition between ICE and EV operation. The 18 also has an Eco button, which affects how often regen kicks in. I like it engaged, but I can see where others might hate it.
  21. I'll start a new thread soon to discuss my initial impressions of the 18. I only have 300 miles, so still getting used to it. Thanks for asking!
  22. It's 2018... it only hold bitcoins. ;)
  23. Some people have an experience like mine and say, Never again. I try to be a realist.
