    The driving techniques may not be illegal in Germany but they are in Georgia and most other US states. Links to both applicable Georgia motor vehicle statutes for "coasting in neutral" and "diving to closely" were provided in earlier posts (no one said grill covers were illegal). If you have ever driven on I-75 in south Florida then you would see why "driving to closely" is illegal in most states. The carnage and deaths that occur on that interstate resulting from driving too closely when combined with high speed is devastating. And more importantly, innocent people that are not driving in that reckless manner get sucked into that mayhem. Innocent people die.

    I think that is likely the sound also. I hear it in the garage after the car is parked but it runs for a lot longer than 10 seconds on mine. It might be up to half an hour. Note that on mine that buzz seems to be coming from the rear of the car as opposed to under the hood.

    I agree that insults are uncalled for. I apologize if I crossed the line in that regard. But I disagree with you when PT advocates illegal activity and pressures forum members to embrace that behavior. That goes much further over the line, in my opinion, and should not happen on this forum. His training videos in post #1 in this thread promote illegal driving techniques. They are illegal for a very good reason - they are dangerous to other motorists on U.S. roads.

    I didn't understand the purpose either until I heard that explanation a while back. Once I understood that it seemed to make a lot of sense to me. Now my wife and I have contests to see who can leave the battery in the most depleted state after arriving home.

You are right about one thing in regards to the old days, this thread would not have generated animosity because it would have been deleted. Get yourself some help.

    Back in the days when this forum had very active moderators (thinking of GrySql) this thread would have been shutdown and deleted. Threads advocating and pressuring members to participate in dangerous and illegal activity has no place on this forum. I'm kind of surprised anyone would be bold enough to post videos of themselves demonstrating dangerous and illegal driving techniques. Sure makes him an easy target for Georgia highway patrol and a slam dunk for prosecution. PT, would you be okay with having your videos forwarded to the Georgia highway patrol?

    I'm on my second set of Michelin Energy Savers. Replaced the first set around 47,000 miles because of Minnesota winter driving conditions (need healthy tread). Typically inflate 2-3 pounds above door sticker because day vs night temperatures vary a lot in Minnesota. In Florida (warm and flat) trip computer is consistently between 50-55 per tank with mixed driving. A lot of parkway driving where speed limit is 45 MPH. MPG would be less at highway speeds. And no, I will not endanger myself or my wife by inflating to 50 PSI.

    Agreed. This thread (and many others) are full of his dangerous nonsense, lack of ethics, inability to distinguish right from wrong and the promotion of illegal driving activities. I'm confident any new members will quickly see this. The last post (#237) is just more of the same. You will find an abundance of similar nonsense from him all over this forum.

    Or just give the gas pedal a little extra push if traffic warrants. I frequently do that if I have impatient traffic behind me. If no traffic behind me, I let the car do what it wants.

    That article seems to indicate that 250,000 miles can be achieved by some of the top performers. Likely not typical for the average car without significant repairs. As "Jack106" stated his repair will cost more than the car is worth. Numerous repairs of a less catastrophic nature can also quickly add up and exceed the value of the car. I typically average about 12,000 miles/year on a car. If I get 8-10 years without major repairs I am very happy and will be a repeat buyer from that manufacturer. But that's just me. Besides, after 8-10 years I get the itch for something new anyway. But, my 2015 FFH may be an exception - at almost five years and a little over 60,000 miles it is hands down the best and most satisfying car I have ever owned. But, when I get close to the end of the 8/100,000 hybrid warranty I might get itchy again.

    Interesting point and makes me wonder - what is a reasonable expectation for the longevity of the transmission and ICE on modern cars? I'm old enough to remember when it was exceptional service for a car to last 100,000 miles. Our expectations appear to far exceed that now. So, how many miles is a reasonable expectation for a modern car?

    It was far more than just a TSB. It was a Customer Satisfaction Program that covered repairs on 2013/2014 C-Max and FFH transmissions regardless of mileage. It would be ridiculous for any auto manufacturer to issue a blanket recall on a transmission issue that affects less than one percent of the transmissions, does not involve a safety issue and where the transmission has very good or excellent reliability ratings from Consumer Reports. Those CR reliability ratings means the transmission has proven to be much more reliable than average. And Ford did publicize it via this Customer Satisfaction Program and encouraged its dealers to contact affected customers. Get over it.

    I rotate my tires at every around 5000-6000 miles (each oil change). I'm guessing the more frequently they are removed and put back on the faster they fail.

    Yes, I had to replace mine also. These lug nuts are a two piece affair and many of us have had to replace them. Quick Lane had to chisel some of mine off around 55,000 miles. They replaced them with single piece lug nuts and I don't expect further problems. Can't remember how much they cost but it was not that big of a deal. This lug nut issue is not a Ford only issue. GM and other manufactures have used the same crappy lug nuts. Other than normal/routine maintenance this lug nut issue is the only problem I've had with my 2015 FFH.

    The battery pack for the 2020 Escape hybrid is described as being about the size of a briefcase with a capacity of 1.1 kWh. The FFH has a battery capacity of 1.4 kWh. I wonder why the engineers gave it a smaller capacity? Anyone have ideas on that?

    This CR article (https://www.consumerreports.org/suvs/2020-ford-escape-preview/) says that the hybrid versions can tow up to 1500 pounds. That is different than our FFHs which are not rated at all for towing. Maybe that is part of the reason? Another article I saw speculated that the hybrids's EPA combined MPG rating would be 40 MPG. It that is achieved, then it would be only one less that the FFH. It looks a lot like a larger Focus hatch back. I'm looking forward to looking at one next fall.

    The water cooling is interesting. I suspect it may have become a necessity for passenger comfort since the batteries are packaged underneath the rear seat.

    Consumer Reports has reliability data for the C-Max which is the exact same transmission as in the FFH.     It looks promising. When it is time to replace my FFH I will take a serious look at it. By that time they should have all the initial bugs worked out.

    From my understanding they are not dropping the Mustang. Have not heard anything about keeping the FFH/FFE but I hope it is true.

    Does a FFH without "My Ford Touch" have beeping buttons? I don't think they do, but if I'm wrong, then I just learned another thing about my FFH from this forum.
