  1. I guy in my neighborhood has a FFH the same color as mine, but it's just a basic SE model. Mine is loaded and looks better anyway... :)
  2. I had an issue the dealer corrected. My sync stopped working so I used the out of my touch reset software and procedure. It worked for about 5 minutes then I could not hear my phone when I made a call. Did the reset again using out of touch. Right after the reboot, the right steering wheel button started work in reverse. The voice command button was now mute, the up/down/left/right arrows were reverse, the Ok button did not work. I did one more reset using the master reset on the MFT. After reboot, none of the right side buttons worked! The dealer troubleshot it using pinpoint testing and replaced the Steering Column Module, Ford P/N DG9Z*3F791*CA. It works fine now. It was probably a coincidence. But it was really weird..
  3. Got my car back today with the update installed. I total forgot to ask about it, but saw it on the service ticket. It goes back in regular service tomorrow. So we'll see what difference it makes.

My wife's trip to work is flat. No change in elevation. She usually has a lead foot. But when driving the hybrid it's all about getting the best mileage. But with that short of a trip she uses the Focus most of the time.
  5. I wanted to give the clay bar detailing a shot to see how well it works before I did it to the new Fusion. I picked up a Meguiar's kit and experimented on the 2009 Focus. It was easy and did not take very long. I was amazed that the stuff that came off the paint. I finished it with Meguiar's ultimate wax. The car looks great. So next weekend it will be the Fusion's turn. I week after that, the F-150. It will be interesting to see what comes off the F-150's paint since its a 2006. It took more effort to wax it then to do the clay bar. My vehicles get washed and waxed about every 60 to 90 days. I have too many vehicles and would spend most of my time detailing things. So that time frame works good for me. But the clay bar thing once a year on each may be a good idea. Who knows, I may even do the motorcycles.

May be but I had no regen miles. Looks like I need to have the wife drive the car to work and back again and take a shot of the display. It's a mile and a half round trip. She says can do it all the way in EV mode.

I bet no one can beat the mileage I got on my last trip.... :shift: :happy feet:
  8. When my car is in on Monday I'm gonna see if they have it available. If so, I'm gonna twist an arm or 2 to see if they'll install it.
  9. Same for me! I have an appointment on Monday for them to look at a scuff on the passenger door panel. I guess I'll ask about this. Does anyone know if the software has been released?

I moved my Fusion 30 feet the other day and had a MPG of 999.9! Anyway, here's my stats from the trip home today. I had about the same results going in, but forgot to talk a picture. Pardon the picture. The trip was with the A/C on, max speed 60, with some stop and go. I'm also managing to nail the brake regen at 99 to 100% on most stops. I use the eco cruise most of the time as traffic permits.
  11. My elevation change is a grand total of 3 feet from home to work. Downhill. And of course it's up hill all the way home.

Well its good to know the shift that built it did a good job. And I'm sure someone that touched it had the weekend or part of the weekend off!

Did my first trip to work and back today. With just 240 miles on the clock, I got 48.5 going to work and 43.8 coming back. Going in, traffic was light, as usual. The return trip was in the rain with stop and go traffic. I'm happy at this point. And in the areas were I could get to 65, the car did not go into EV mode over 62. I think I also got a good one. The 6/28/2013 production date was a Friday and it looks like they did a great job while looking forward to the weekend.

Tomorrow will be my first drive to work with it. I'll try and remember to check the EV threshold when I hit the stretch of road where I can get up to 65 MPH.

I had 2 small chips, they were about the size of 2 pencil points each, on the front bumper and a small scratch, about 2 inches long, on the roof. They buffed out the roof area and touched up the chips. There was also some buffing compound left on the paint of the interior side of the doors. They cleaned all those areas up. The body tag with all the trans and tire info was missing. The dealer ordered a new one. The detailing crew tossed out the tag with the door keypad info, they may have also tossed out the body tag. I'm overall happy with the way it was delivered. After the disaster of the first one we were going to buy, the dealer went over it with a fine tooth comb as soon as it came off the truck. I got a call from the sales manager with the issues they found. They want me not to have any surprises when we came to pick it up. A couple of the other that came off the same truck had large chips missing and some big scratches. I think most of that happened after they were loaded for transport.

Did a 32 mile trip today and had an average of 50.9 mpg. My speed ranged from 35 to 65 mph. Not too bad considering the car only has 179 miles on it. I'm looking forward to getting broken in. Aquineas, our cars where ordered and built on the same day, but mine was delivered a week later then yours. It also seems we are both getting good mileage right from the start.
  17. Well I double checked and I did not see any you tube videos for changing it. But more than likely its the same setup. Give it a look and let us know. I would but my Fusion came with free maintenance for 36 months. Looks like the dealer will be doing at least my first filter change.
  18. I notice LadyDi is from Florida. Being that we here in the snowbird/tourist infested state of Florida tend to run our A/C for a good part of the year, it's possible to get mold growth on the evap coil. What I do with all my vehicles is, when I'm a 1/2 mile or so from my destination, I turn off the A/C, make sure recirc is off (get outside air into the car) and run the fan on high. This helps warm the coil and blow moisture off it. Sometimes I'll also turn up the temperature so the coil warms up faster. This way it dries quicker. No moisture on the coil, no mold growth. Our oldest vehicle's A/C, a 2000 Sunfire that our Fusion is replacing, has no mold smell. This technique works. As for mold that has already started, you really need to access the coil and clean it with a commercial A/C coil cleaner that is water based and no rinse. That will kill the mold. The sequence to get the auto climate control to shutdown the A/C in the Fusion is easy enough. We picked up our Fusion yesterday, and had the procedure to shutdown the A/C figured out in just a few minutes. Changing the cabin filter is easy enough. Only takes about 10 minutes. Do a search on You Tube. There are plenty of videos on it.
  19. Being CCW permit holder, I carry everywhere I can. Djm, you know what it's like here in Florida. We get all the drivers from other states that bring their bad habits with them when they move here or visit. We call the one that move here Floridiots. I've had the pleasure of having one gentleman, from a northern state, decide I was driving too slow (the speed limit) for him on a 2 lane road. After driving in the trunk of my car for a bit, he finally got chance to pass. He passed me and slammed on his brakes, causing me to do the same. After stopping, he got out of he car and started towards us. I had my wife call 911. While she was calling, he started to bang on the hood of the car, continuing to walk towards the driver side door yelling and screaming. I could not backup because another car had stopped behind us. He's now at the driver's side door pulling on the door handle trying to get in the car. The door was locked, thank god, he then hit the window hard enough to crack it. I never thought I would have to ever draw my CW, but I had no choice. I started to draw and I guess the guy realized what I was doing because his eyes got real big and he ran back to his car. He then drove off at high speed. My wife stayed on the phone with the sheriffs department and gave them the car description and what this guy looked like. We started to follow him and just as we pulled away 3 sheriff's cruisers came flying past us. The 911 operator had asked us to stay on the phone with him, just a few minutes later he told us the sheriffs stop him up the road a few miles asked if we would stop to talk with them. We stopped told them what happened so they arrested the guy. The guy plead out, paid for the damage to our car, gave us an apology, paid his fine, did his community service and went back up north. Why bother getting that pissed off? The guy could have just passed us and got to where he was going. Instead, he got to meet the local sheriffs and not make it to where he was headed. Road rage, it's just not worth it.
  20. My 4 wheel vehicles don't get names. My motorcycles do. The names are female, male and gender neutral.
  21. Corncobs, thanks for your input. I don't want to hijack this thread, so I'll try to make it short. My aploigizes the Mods. This forum just like many others when it comes to self styled experts on a subject. Anyone can wing it and pass on info that is meaningless and inaccurate. Ordering a couple of cars and being around awhile does not give someone "status". If that was the case my malamute would have status as a dog food expert because she eats it every day and has been around for 7 years. The point is this. I posted an update and ended up getting a input that was given without reading posts or comprehending the info in those posts by someone with no ability to access the build tracking system. It would appear, even though he has no access to the system, he knows more about how to operate and interrupt it then the person providing me updates. Jeff_h, my name is not Francis. And there is nothing to lighten up about there Charlie. Your input was taken as information from someone has no idea of the current status of any vehicle in the build process..
  22. Jeff_h, it would appear you do not read previous posts. I say that because all the info you ask for was provided previously in this thread. I think you keep missing it, but it is NOT a sales guy checking the status, but the person that does their ordering. She is the person providing the info. While your input is appreciated, unless you can provide me with a definative status, I will put more stock in the info she is providing me then what you are pushing, So, are you a ford employee that can provide me with a status? Or are you just guessing at what it should be. Pardon the attitude but I'm more than little tried of people that do not have access to the ford's internal information telling me the info I'm getting from the person that has access to ford's system is not correct. So, provide me with a status or please keep what you "think" it should be, or who you think is more accurate, or what your opinion may be, to yourself.
  23. Got the VIN last month. Sticker available on the 20th of this month, with a date of 6/19. As previously mentioned, the dealer says it has been invoiced and is in the plant being built. Original build week 6/24. I asked what in-plant means and was told it is being built and being built early. I asked about her about the date on the sticker vs. it being built 7 days later and was told that is normally correct. But according to the status she was seeing, it was actually on the line in the build process. Where on the line she could not tell.
