  1. I once had to bring my Mustang GT to a repair shop for a water leak into the main electronics module. They water tested it and left it outside to dry. The only way to remove the incredible amount of water drop damage was to clay bar the finish. It took a lot of time, but afterwards the car looked great. I remember being shocked at how hard the acid rain residue was to remove, but the clay worked.

    Nobody likes a braggart! haha
  3. On the left side, near the back of the trunk is a small square cover that has 2 turnbuckles on it. Behind this area you will fine the 'normal' car battery. I would think it would be difficult to get this battery wet no matter what you did with gear being put in the trunk.

I had a short trip like that once too, and was amazed. It was actually a couple of miles at over 150MPG

You mean you haven't taken it out of the garage for a car wash say, and back in for 999.99 mpg?
  6. Have to say no surprise on the mileage data. I liked my test drive in the HAH. That dash tho is a hot mess!
  7. Thanks so much for the link. Now I just have to get it done!
  8. Got mine last week, and also the WeatherTech window guards. This company is the best!
  9. What splash guards did you use? I don't want mine to look too 1980s! haha Seriously tho, where did you get yours? thanks
  10. I couldn't care less about DRLs, but I would like to change out my puddle lights for LEDs. That's something I have to look up again on the forum. I love the puddle lights and just want them brighter.
  11. The news reports consistently say that gas prices will stay low for quite a while, meaning what? Months, weeks, days? All I know is that Saudi Arabia is being beat at their own game finally! OPEC is desperately trying to control prices as they always have, and Russia is unfortunately suffering for it also. I have no love for Putin, but the citizens there deserve better. I surprised myself the other day, and admittedly did some hyper miling, which I rarely do, but got 57 MPG around town. Kept the heat off (sunny day) and a trip of about 10 miles probably. I don't care about the gas prices so much, since no matter what they are I am always saving compared to many other drivers. That's why I bought the car.
  12. Last thing I would want is to emulate the look of the Prius in any way! haha
  13. If the bulbs are like other incandescent bulbs, running them at lower voltage is similar to household bulbs being started on a dimmer at lower light levels. This will increase the life of the bulbs dramatically. I have personally had incandescent builbs last for over 20 years. I would assume that the same principle may be applied to car bulbs, but I have no 'science' to back it up.
  14. As my home state for almost 9 years now, I must say that SC has some interesting approaches to many things, politics included of course. This issue tho, they have been trying to prevent energy saving in many forms, and lead the nation in NOT adopting solar for example. North Carolina, colder, less sunshine, much more commitment to using solar. The latest nonsense, explained in the paper today, is about how the gas prices here (3rd lowest taxes in the nation) are not below two dollars. In fact prices around me range from 1.12 to 1.20 right now. The explanation? cost of using the pipelines to move fuel, and that is due to limited capacity. What nonsense.
  15. I would love a 5 door version. Looks completely like the 4 door, but makes loading the car so much easier. How come we can't get the diesel here? 210HP, with probably a lot more torque.
  16. EDIT- should have read the thread first- duh! I now see that there has been much discussion about calling them and asking for a better deal/
  17. New to this thread- I called Sirius and told them I needed a better price, and they gave me the same great deal I had during the 1st year. If you really miss them call and tell them you need a much better price. They expect people to do this apparently, so give it a try. You can always still say no thanks. Wish it worked with satellite TV! Directv is killing me.
  18. Aw man, that's the worst when your baby gets hit! Sorry to hear it. Still riding with the initial early door ding, and no other damage. Got that one the first month.
  19. And, just guessing here, but some of the idiots have gun racks in their trucks! In my area they just carry pistols in their vehicles.
  20. If you don't mind the cost of tires, plus mounting and/or new rims, winter tires are superior to all season. They are built without compromises while all season have to perform reasonably well in a wide range of conditions. Probably expect more noise. A neighbor always swapped his tires (rear drive car) for winter ones and it drove well in Minnesnowta. Where I live now I have ultra high performance on my Mustang GT, and have to be a bit more cautious in cold rainy conditions. I don't drive it if the roads are freezing, which is extremely rare here.
  21. Years ago when working I thought I had lost a bracelet, and suspected the house cleaner. A few months went by, and after moving a chair I found it on the carpet. My bad! Glad I didn't say anything to the person i suspected.

I have stopped moving forward just because everyone else is. More relaxing way to drive, and safer too.
