MFT 3.6 Listen to TEXT broken
Former Expedition owner replied to gkinla's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
The text to speech with my iPhone 4S was working before the Sync v3.6 update. Speech to text did not. After the Sync update, the text to speech did not work after re-pairing the same iPhone 4S. I went into bluetooth settings on the iPhone 4S and clicked the blue option arrow on the right side of the "Sync" item. I flipped "Show Notifications" to ON. The text to speech now works again. -
While travelling recently and using the Navigation with MFT on my HyTi, the location of my vehicle moved a few hundred feet from the actual road I was driving on. Here's a photo of the Navigation on MFT showing what I am describing: In the example above, I had been travelling along on the designated route when my vehicle inexplicably "jumped" over to the left on the MFT screen. I can confirm that I was still driving along the designated route. My HyTi didn't just jump into someone's backyard. While driving and attempting to find a location with the navigation, this was a huge distraction. Has this happened to anyone else? Any explanation why this happens? It is the second time it has happened to me. The first time was driving in unfamiliar territory into NYC, trying to find the hotel for a wedding.

Sync summer update Gen2 v3.6 coming
Former Expedition owner replied to 47Minutes's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
I seem to be getting the "No Key Found" error more often after the update. My time was also off by an hour. I just adjusted it manually. -
Sync summer update Gen2 v3.6 coming
Former Expedition owner replied to 47Minutes's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
I am was in a similar situation. After I successfully installed the update, I took my USB stick back into the house, erased its contents, and then saved my wallpaper images on the USB stick. I went back out to the HyTi and installed all my wallpaper images. Later in the evening, I noticed the SyncMyRide site was still open on my computer. Obviously, I could not "verify my installation", as I deleted all the Sync files from the USB. This morning, I went back to SyncMyRide and found a link to Sync Version Checker: It took about 3 seconds to download the version checker to the USB stick. I took it to my HyTi, plugged it in the USB port, but nothing happened. The LCD screen stayed on my home screen. So, I took the USB back to my PC, deleted the files from the USB, and re-installed the update checker. Back out to the HyTi, plugged it in, still nothing. This time, I went to the Info screen, Apps page, install updates/apps, and ran the update checker. The LCD screen showed it successfully installed one program. I took the USB back to my PC, plugged it in the USB port, and it successfully updated the SyncMyRide page. -
I installed the Sync 3.6 update yesterday, hoping it would add to the supported USB devices. After the update was complete, I plugged my 4G USB551L modem into the USB port and received the same, "Device Not Supported" message. :rant2:

I am a Howerd Stern fan and when listening to a segment last week, I had to step outside the car to take some photos for work. I left the car running because I was immediately next to the car. When I got back in the car, the segment had ended and I missed the last 10 minutes (or so I thought). I noticed the "replay" button in the upper right of the screen and pressed it. It changed the screen to display a scroll bar and I could see it had the last 30 minutes of audio to the left of the current position. The screen also has buttons with the double left and double right arrows on them. I pressed the double left button and it skipped back about 5 minutes of audio. If I held in the double left arrow button, it scrolled back through the audio, playing bits and pieces along the way. I was able to go back in the segment to where I got out of the HyTi and listen to the portion I missed. I have a Stilletto2 Sirius portable radio that does this, but I never thought my in-dash radio would do it, too. I searched to see if there were any other posts for "replay" but there were none. Hopefully, someone else will find this useful, too.

My HyTi was built March 23, 2013. I have 1900 miles. I do not experience the "popping" noise. Should I just consider myself lucky or take it into the dealer for the "fix"?

Same here. I went from paying $100 a week to fill up my '03 Expedition (27 gallon tank) to paying about $40 every two weeks with the HyTi. 13 MPG vs. 40 MPG. :happy feet:

Shark Fin antenna: unboxed and installed
Former Expedition owner replied to Former Expedition owner's topic in Body Exterior
Originally, I planned on opening the sunroof and standing with one foot on each seat, and my body propped out through the opening. However, when I started the install, I just opened a rear door and stood on the sill plate area. -
I had the 3G Novatel USB727 stick that didn't work. I upgraded to the 4G 551L stick yesterday. Plugged it into my HyTi's USB port and received this message:

I bought a Shark Fin antenna from Visual Garage after reading about it on these forums. I felt the Shark Fin better matches the styling/design of the Fusion rather than the whip antenna that comes standard. I sent an email to Visual Garage, stating I had a Ford Fusion Hybrid Titanium with Tuxedo Black Metallic paint and a few hours later they sent me a PayPal invoice for $69 + $12 S/H = $81 total. I ordered on May 8th, it shipped on May 17th, and I received the Shark Fin on May 20th. It was shipped via USPS first class mail from Point Roberts, WA. Shown below are photos of the unboxing and what the final installation looks like on my HyTi. I followed the provided installation instructions and had the Shark Fin installed in about 30 minutes. I used blue painters tape to align it where I wanted it on the roof before I peeled off the adhesive backing on the antenna. I haven't driven around to determine if the reception is any better/worse, but others on this forum have stated little to no reception loss.

I have a HyTi with push button start. Let's say I am attending a sporting event that is a three hour drive from my house. I drive to the venue, park in the lot, press the lock button on my remote as I walk into the stadium to watch the game. Hypothetically, let's say that when I pressed the lock button on my remote, it used the last bit of stored energy in the key battery. When I exit the sporting venue after the game at midnight on a Sunday, I press the unlock button on the remote and nothing happens. The key battery is totally dead. I know I can pry off the handle and use the actual key inside my fob to open the door. However, how do I start my car in order to drive home? I'm thinking I should buy a spare key battery and keep it in my glovebox for just such an emergency. I don't suppose there is a way to start the vehicle with the dead battery in the key, is there?

There was a post in another thread indicating to do this in order to get to a "vent" setting: Press A/C button (if not already lit up) Press MAX A/C button Press A/C buttonAfter pressing these in succession, none of the A/C lights should be lit and you can use the fan buttons to increase/decrease the amount of air coming in from outside. Not optimal, but works for me.

As I've posted previously, I have a Novatel USB727 internet stick that uses Verizon Wireless to provide internet service. I simply plug the USB stick in my laptop and I've got internet service wherever Verizon Wireless has service available. I'd like to be able to plug this USB stick into my HyTi and use the USB Mobile Broadband option to create a WiFi hotspot inside the vehicle. Not so easy, it turns out. The HyTi would not recognize the Novatel USB727 internet stick. So, I asked Rebecca at Ford on Facebook if there instructions on how to pair the USB stick with MFT. She told me to follow the instructions posted here, but these instructions were for connecting a phone to tether, not a USB stick. I waited a month and asked if they had any success with USB sticks. Her is her reply: Has anyone been able to get a USB stick to create a WIFi hotspot? If yes, what is teh make, model, and wireless carrier of the USB Stick?

I spent a total of 33 minutes on the phone with Sirius and they couldn't get the Travel Link to work. The first 5 minutes were with Sirius Customer Care, who had me turn the radio off, back on, tune to channel 184, and then he sent a signal to my radio....no result. Sirius Customer Care then transferred me to another gentleman. Let's just say English was not his first language. I spent 28 minutes on the phone with him, repeating the process the first guy had me do, still no results this time. He then had me do a "soft" reboot by turning the car off, open & close the door, turn the car back on. Still no Travel Link services. He finally told me I had two options: Wait for a while and monitor the Travel Link screen to see if the information would eventually load into the system Bring my car to a Ford dealer and have them check the satellite radio module, possibly perform a "hard" reboot. So, that was a half-hour of my life wasted. :rant2: But, the "hard reboot" comment triggered something in my head...I've heard that term used in this forum before. Sure enough, neod192 had posted a link to a way to perform a hard reboot without losing all your presets, like phone info, waypoints, and radio stations. I found his How To Reset MyFord Touch w/out losing your presets thread and followed the directions to download a file to your computer and extract it directly to a USB drive. Once I performed the reboot in my HyTi, it took about 15 minutes for all the data to load into the Travel Link page. :happy feet: No more spinning circles.

Sirius Travel Link issues
Former Expedition owner posted a topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
When I attempt to use Sirius Travel Link, I see these spinning circles on the screen. I've even tried leaving this screen up for about 30 minutes, but it never changes. I am driving outside and can receive Sirius radio while this screen is on. If I push the FUEL PRICES icon, I see this: I know I have an active subscription, as you can see here: Anyone else with a similar issue? Should I call Sirius or Ford? -
FM radio sound
Former Expedition owner replied to Klstaack's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
The speed compensated volume setting is grayed out on my HyTi. Why is that? The other audio settings are not gray. -
I'd like to be able to have outside air come through the upper (face) vents on my HyTi. I believe this is somewhat related to this topic. On a sunny spring day, after my HyTi sits in the parking lot all day at work, the interior becomes warm. However, the outside temperature my be only 55-60 degrees. I'd like to be able to open the "vents" without turning the compressor on (and using any energy or forcing he ICE to come on), to let the cool outside air into the warm cabin. Sounds simple, right? I can't figure out how to open the vents without forcing the compressor to come on. Any ideas?

I disagree. It's worth it.
