  1. Are you certain it filled up? How many extra clicks at the pump?
  2. Thanks. That's encouraging and more inline with my expectations. Can't wait to get my own.
  3. Cars.com is also a good place to look. I am getting a fully loaded titanium hybrid for about 35,000 plus TT&L. Minus any rebates that may exist at the time. Mine is thru X-plan, so your case may be a little different. You can build the car you want and save the configuration on cars.com
  4. Have fun :) http://owner.ford.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=Owner/Page/OwnerGuidePage&year=2013&make=Ford&model=Fusion

Thanks. I have seen a couple of comments of unhappy people , but most comments are very positive

    MPG Happy Talk

Can you give me a link to the Ford Fusion Hybrid Facebook page?
  7. Thanks for the respone Jeff. I sure hope 31 MPG at 70 was a fluke. That is nothing write home about. i average 33 to 34 in my 2007 Camry going 75 to 80 MPH (whenever possible) on 1,100 mile trips between Houston and Florida. can't do that trip at 62 MPH or it would take me 24 hours instead of the usual 18 to 19 hours (with stops). For my daily commute, I can manage the 62 MPH limit, but it is very dissapointing if that is the line you have to draw to get good mileage. I'm still waiting for someone to tell me it isn't so.
  8. So your drive is 90% highway and you are averaging 44 MPGs. That's pretty awesome. What speeds do you travel? Do you try to engage EV mode on highway (ie travel below 62 MPH)? In my 2007 Camry (which can only go up 40 MPH in EV mode) I can still get great highway mileage by reaching my cruising speed and then just slightly letting off the accelerator. I then get instant MPG readings betwen 40 and 60 MPG. I can do this travelling at 65 , even 70. Does the Fusion Hybrid work the same way or is it EV or nothing?
  9. Elle, the Bordeaux color is starting to grow on me. I ordered the sterling gray, but lately I've been thinking of switching to the Bordeaux. My Camry is red (very similar to the color offered in the Fusion), so I don't want to do red again. Decisions, decisions....
  10. I am buying the Fusion because it seems like an awesome combination of features, it's great looking, and should get some great gas mileage. It seems like the right car for me at this time in my life. it was the gas mileage that first caught my attention. That's probably true of most people. I really do not take it personally if some one critiques the car. I agree acdii went overboard in his angst, and that probably turned off a few people, myself included. But Even though I am buying A Fusion, I refuse to give Ford a free pass on the 47/47/47. I have noticed that Idon't seem to see any commercials touting the 47/47/47 anymore.
  11. Here is a review from late January that I had not seen. It has some positives, but also some negatives. http://www.autoguide.com/manufacturer/ford/2013-ford-fusion-hybrid-review-2397.html
  12. I actually enjoy a good discussion and welcome divergent poits of view. Anytime you get personal in a discussion, you are losing the argument. My understanding of the EPA tests is that there is a level of latitude where conditions are concerned. In other words, Some things are not well defined. I saw this on another forum, maybe I'll search for it. That leaves some room for abuse and manipulation. I cannot believe that people are arguing that Ford was obligated to go the 47/47/47 route and had no choice. i simply find that hard to swallow. Regardless, I think I know what I'm getting into, and will be happy if I get 40 or over on my daily commute. serious highway driving, I know I will be nowhere near 47, probably not even 40.
  13. I do not yet own my car, so everything I say is based on what I have read, both on these forums and other reviews. From your statements, it sounds like you are giving Ford a pass, even if they knew they were gaming the system and their customers were not going to get anywhere near the car's rating. I can achieve and beat my Camry's ratings just about any day I want to. I don't always do it, because sometimes the hybrid games get old, but it's there to achieve (fairly easily). If the same is not true for the new Ford Fusion, then people have a legitimate gripe, and shame on Ford. I also disagree with the statement that we all knew this from the start. While there are many repeat hybrid buyers on these forums, the average joe does not participate on online forums and only has the EPA ratings to go by. I see MPGs all over the place, so I will have to wait until mine comes in to have a more solid opinion. But the jury is still out on the new Fusion. I do not believe the EPA has reached a conclusion yet.
  14. I cannot think of a reason why I wouldn't want a 600 mile range. When you are traveling for long stretches, the fewer gas stops the better. When you have a packed car, including dogs, you do not want to make extra unnecessary stops. And when your trip is 1,100 miles non-stop, as I do twice a year, it is very nice to only have to stop for gas twice. And I arrive with a pretty full tank at that.
  15. I am not very hopeful for retail orders this week. I have yet to see more than one energi retail order with a VIN (pluggedin). Are there others? I know they are building the Energi's, but it seems like they are filling stock first. We'll find out soon enough...
  16. That sounds pretty messed up. I sometimes don't turn on the heater on my TCH for the first few minutes to let it warm up too. But afterwards, heater or not, my mileage is barely affected. I'm sure your cold weather is much colder than Houston. We've had a very mild Winter this year, but I don't ever remember any drastic differences between running the heater and not.
  17. I have read comments in the C-Max forum from some people saying the regular crusise control does better than eco-cruise. Not sure if that is a general sentiment, but I have seen it expressed. Would be interesting to hear from FFH owners regarding this.
  18. I found that to be the case everywhere I went, whether it be Toyota (looking at the Avalon) or Ford. Any question I asked, they had no clue. it really is sad. If you make your living selling something, you would think becoming informed about the product you are selling would be a no brainer.
  19. Congrats! Another Houston hybrid owner. We have quite a few from houston on here. Glad to see you are getting great mileage. I expect good things on my daily commute once my car comes in
  20. I've heard that there has to be a curb or it won't work at all. Also you have to pull forward quite a bit. That said, I think it works pretty well, from what I have heard. You also get front sensors with the park assist, which can also come in handy.
  21. Thanks for the info. I assumed it was the capless system since I had never heard of it.
  22. It's discussed in many forums. It shouldn't be so difficult to fill your tank. My gas cap is attached, so it's hard to forget. I never have to question whether my tank is full. When you are on a long trip that can make a big difference. Looks to me like they released this feature before it was ready. http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums/index.php?/topic/51987-fusion-funky-fuel-tankanyone-attempted-a-full-fuel/
  23. And one to Escondido CA, build date 2/5 Another to Genoa, OH build date 1/22 Just came back from my dealer and we saw all three in the system.
  24. I don't see any positives with Fords new capless gas tanks. All I have heard is problems.
  25. Why are you in such a hurry? Do you have to have a car by a certain date? I know it's frustrating to wait, but if you really have your heart set on something, are you going to be satisfied buying your 2nd choice.
