hybridbear Report post Posted October 7, 2014 Hey hybridbear, Were you able to stay connected after performing the clean pairings? KimKim - I was just logging in to give an update when you posted. The Focus Electric was still not working so I deleted all devices again and paired mine again. It worked for one test call. The Fusion worked correctly for me on Sunday night but did not work for my wife yesterday or today. We'll try deleting all the devices and pairing them again. If I go into the Settings menu and click "Master reset", what all does that delete? Does it delete our Navigation favorites? What about radio presets? What about settings such as setting the prompt level to "advanced" and other settings we've changed?

Before performing the master reset, hold the POWER and HOME buttons on the iPhones before you re-pair them to each vehicle to see if you notice any differences. This support page from Apple is also worth taking a look at: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht6473 The master reset will erase everything except the software version. All settings, navigation favorites, radio presets, etc. will be set back to the factory default settings. Kim

kbailey990 Report post Posted October 8, 2014 I can answer that one! The power/home combination forces your iPhone to reboot instead of just waking up when you shut it down normally. 2 GrySql and corncobs reacted to this
FordIVTteam Report post Posted October 9, 2014 What's the difference between holding the two buttons versus just turning the phone off and on normally? Thanks, kbailey990! Basically, it's just the best way to make sure the phone completely shuts down and powers back up :). Kim

acdii Report post Posted October 13, 2014 Its through USB, and it happens on both cars now. The 8.02 update broke it. 8.0 had worked fine, even fixed Pandora when an ad played, used to stop playing over USB, and had to resync it, 8.0 had resolved that, and now 8.02 has it doing it again. Its an Apple issue, not MFT at this point.
hybridbear Report post Posted October 13, 2014 Kim - thanks for the troubleshooting tips. Restarting the iPhone the normal way doesn't fix the periodic call issue. Restarting it via the home & power buttons fixes the issue without needing to delete the phone from MFT and add it again. Also, thanks for the tip for dealing with the MFM app for the Energi & Electric. Using the double click of the home button and then swiping up fixes it anytime that it forgets me and asks me to login again. I swipe up and reopen the app and it works with just my passcode. Would that same trick work for the SYNCdestinations app which also periodically signs me out?

Make sure you keep these troubleshooting tips in mind: http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/troubleshooting-sync-myford-touch Kim - thanks for the troubleshooting tips. I am unable to verify this because I can't replicate the issue on my own phone. Test it out and let me know if you notice a difference :). Kim
acdii Report post Posted October 27, 2014 Apple has a new update, 8.2, MFT interaction is still broken, along with a few other items on the phone. Too bad I could not stick with the first 8.0 release, but some apps required 8.1, so it was either forego those apps or upgrade. Should have foregone the apps and just dealt with the update icons every day. On the broken USB part, I think its the metadata portion that is broken, When a commercial on Pandora plays, it sends no data to MFT, and halfway through it stops playing on USB, but still continues on the phone, then I have to press pause on the car, and the phone then play on the phone to continue, After the commercials are done. It used to do it occasionally at random, then 8.0 fixed it, then 8.1 broke it so now it does it every time. If I press mute, forget about it, I have to disconnect the USB from the phone and reattach it to get it to work again, not even closing and reopening the app will get it to work. Gets better, now the music and playlists on the phone itself are having issues being played.
