hybridbear Report post Posted September 22, 2014 Has anyone updated to iOS8 yet? How does Sync/MFT work with iOS8? Any loss of functionality? Will the car still read you any text messages that you receive? Please be sure to include your iPhone model, Fusion year & if you have MFT or just Sync without MFT. Thanks! GrySql Report post Posted September 22, 2014 (edited) I am a llitte apprehensive to install it on my i-devices until I see what the Apple Forums has to say about it. It is a major change in the IOS, getting ready for the implementation of the Yosemite OS which currently is having some Beta problems with Apple Mail. corncobs Report post Posted September 22, 2014 Well no issues so far except that my iPhone was disconnected from BT half way thru my drive this morning. I might have accidentally disabled it with the power button now on the side. I haven't had a chance to test messages yet but besides having to re-enable "text to speech" again after pairing my new iPhone I do expect it to work just fine. iPhone 6 on MFT FFH 2013

I'm curious to see if you have the same issue. How do you like the iPhone 6?
acdii Report post Posted September 22, 2014 No problems yet on my 5S running 8, though it is annoying the hell out of me with notices. This app is doing this, etc. I only use USB, and no issues with playing music, though I haven't tried Pandora yet. That one would stop playing through USB when a commercial came on, more to do with the APP than either the phone or MFT. I would have to re-sync the play/pause to hear it again. I know its the phone because it does the same exact thing on my sound station at home.

corncobs Report post Posted September 22, 2014 A BOF user has reported that his iPhone 6 will not stay connected to the car. I'm curious to see if you have the same issue. How do you like the iPhone 6?Thanks for the info I'll keep my eyes open for the disconnect. The 6 is quite the update from my previous iPhone 4S. The size isn't overwhelming which is good and the quality and the feeling is just outstanding. Battery life seems to be a lot better I'm still at 80% when the 4S would be at around 50% by this time. 1 hybridbear reacted to this
corncobs Report post Posted September 22, 2014 Has anyone confirmed if text messages still work with iOS8?Well I can say that iPhone 6 with iOS 8 doesn't seem to work anymore. I believe I enable all settings but no text was read to me. Maybe Ford is waiting for the next MFT release in order to fix whatever it's broken. GrySql Report post Posted September 22, 2014 Boy, there are some worked up folks on the iPhone Support Community, it seems Camera Roll is now gone, replaced with another scheme. Some Auto/iPhone Bluetooth issues, they are saying to: Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Keyboard problems, launches on websites when not needed. Music Sync in iTunes has some issues, somebody made a fix for that. Etc, etc.-I'll think I'll wait for a while, my wife has just started to understand what is on her iPhone, this will create a problem I don't presently need. 1 hybridbear reacted to this
corncobs Report post Posted September 22, 2014 On the photos they combined camera roll and photo stream They are now one album called recently added. This might be coming from the iCloud update. BT audio played fine maybe I forgot something on the messages.

I had one of our email addresses enabled and sync can't deal with (i)Messages arriving via "email". Regular messages will likely work but iMessages seem special if there is a email assigned in the message settings. 1 GrySql reacted to this
acdii Report post Posted September 22, 2014 Small fix for Pandora, (yeah), when it stops playing over USB, press the mute button then press it again, and it starts playing again. Happens when I get or make a call, or a commercial plays.
JimArch Report post Posted September 23, 2014 (edited) Iphone 5s, just upgraded to IOS 8, when I make a call using SYNC, the call connects for 7 seconds, then SYNC says "call ended" but phone is still connected to the person i'm calling, but they cannot hear me, so they hang up. So I deleted the entry for the old pairing, repaired, and the problem still occurs. Turned phone and car off, deleted pairing, repaired, problem appears to be corrected, made and received calls, communications restored. Call me! My mom updated her iPhone 5 to iOS8 already. We'll see if she has similar issues in the C-Max Energi. I think my wife & I will wait on our updates until these issues are resolved. My work also wants us to wait before updating to iOS8 until they can validate that things will work correctly with our network/exchange servers/etc. 1 GrySql reacted to this

I think it could help if you delete the "old" phone and add it as new phone connection. My car didn't reconnect to the old iPhone even having the same name so I had to create a new BT connection. FordIVTteam Report post Posted September 23, 2014 Hey everyone, So far I've seen a lot of good feedback about iOS 8 connecting to SYNC and MyFord Touch. There have been some minor connection issues reported on other forums, but they seem to be resolved with basic troubleshooting. Check out this link for a few basic tips if you're connecting to MyFord Touch: http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/troubleshooting-sync-myford-touch and this one if you're using basic SYNC: http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/troubleshooting-sync In order to get the text messaging feature working, make sure you're following these steps: http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/how-to-allow-ios-text-messaging-sync-myford-touch Please let me know if you notice anything out of the ordinary or if connection issues persist. acdii Report post Posted September 24, 2014 I am happy to report that Pandora is now working correctly with version 8. I can make and receive calls without it killing Pandora, and no more broken streams when going to commercials. Looks like pairing is a lot faster too, for a while there the phone would not connect to either car unless I manually stopped the connection, plugged in the phone, unplugged the phone, plugged it back in and reconnected. All is working again like my 4 did. 1 corncobs reacted to this

acdii Report post Posted October 3, 2014 And now there is an updated version, 8.02, and it might have just been the fact that SYNC had to re-index, but it started doing the play pause thing again. I should know if it was just the indexing tonight.
hybridbear Report post Posted October 6, 2014 Yesterday both my phone & my wife's would not work in the Focus Electric to make phone calls. They disconnected after 8 seconds as described by the BOF user. The Fusion worked correctly. This was the first time making a phone call in the Focus since updating to iOS 8. I hope that the issues will not continue. In both cars I deleted all BT devices and added the phones back after the update. We also deleted all BT devices from each phone to have a clean slate. I have a 5s and my wife has the iPhone 5.
