murphy Report post Posted September 16, 2014 Nothing new has been released since August 2013 except for a very short window recently when something apparently appeared by accident.
Easy Rider Report post Posted September 16, 2014 You need to check the version you downloaded against what is already installed. It likely is the same thing. You SHOULD do that before downloading; keeps you from wasting time.
Bryan Burch Report post Posted September 29, 2014 3.7 appeared for me today. Installed. Noticed clock still an hour off, ambient lighting still will switch on it's own to the default blue. Would like to see a comprehensive change log.
corncobs Report post Posted September 29, 2014 Not for my FFH.
murphy Report post Posted September 29, 2014 Not for my FFE either. The website proudly proclaims that I am up to date with the 3.6.2 version that came out in August 2013. The website also states that I should check for updates on a regular basis to keep my car current. This is starting to feel like my 2010 hybrid where I got an update 3 months after I bought the car and never got another one in the next 4 years. Here's a TSB about Lincolns defaulting to white ambient lighting and Fords defaulting to blue -- sounds like it may apply to your car? tsb14-0175.pdf
darrelld Report post Posted September 29, 2014 (edited) Not certain why they chose to call this 3.7 unless they intend to change how the deltas are measured in their versioning sequences. When you upload the xml file back to Ford these release notes appear; ABOUT THE LATEST UPDATEThe new software update for SYNC® with MyFord Touch systems includes all the improvements from previous updates, plus additional benefits such as:Navigation:Map content for Europe and Australia/New Zealand regionsMute button for SYNC Navigation prompts added to Navigation map screenEstimated "Time of Arrival," instead of "Time to Destination" now shown on map screenThe installation of this update will take up to 30 minutes to complete.Be sure to keep your engine running (not in accessory mode) throughout the entire installation process. Turning off your vehicle during the update installation will disrupt the process. Although your vehicle must be in park when you begin the installation process, you may drive your vehicle while the update is downloading to your SYNC system. If your vehicle is equipped with the Intelligent Access with Push Button Start feature, you will need to temporarily disable the Automatic Engine Idle Shutdown (AEIS) component before beginning the installation in order to prevent your vehicle from timing out and shutting off the engine before the software update is complete. To disable this feature, use your steering wheel controls to navigate to the Settings menu on your left-hand Instrument Cluster LCD display. From there, select Vehicle >Auto Engine Off >Off. (If you do not see this setting, there is no need to make any changes before starting the update.)Alternatively, after initiating the installation, you may drive the vehicle during the update process to avoid shutting off the engine. The next time you start your vehicle, the AEIS will automatically reset to "On."Please note: During the update installation, SYNC will temporarily appear to not recognize your mobile phone or media device. This is normal. Once your system has been successfully updated, SYNC will display a notification stating "Installation complete." corncobs Report post Posted September 29, 2014 Maybe this one is only for cars with navigation since it seems more a navigation related update based on darrelld's post above. Supporting navigation in Europe would be important now that they sell the Fusion as Mondeo over there as well.
Waldo Report post Posted September 29, 2014 Just downloaded the update today. FYI, MFT has been available in Europe for a couple years now.
corncobs Report post Posted September 29, 2014 (edited) Just downloaded the update today. FYI, MFT has been available in Europe for a couple years now.Yes you are correct but I believe to remember a special focus in articles about Sync2. Anyway there must be a reason why some of us see an update while others don't. Well it doesn't seem to be a breakthrough update anyway. GrySql Report post Posted September 29, 2014 I have the Nav system but once again my Sync does not show an update. It would not update from the website last time either, had to have the Dealer do it. Mine is 'special'.....
FordIVTteam Report post Posted September 29, 2014 Hi everybody, Our website was updated over the weekend, so some of you may have noticed new information available on your accounts. The best way to check if an update is available for a specific vehicle is by logging in at: www.Support.Ford.com and clicking UPDATE SYNC SOFTWARE on the right side of the page. Feel free to PM the VIN if you'd like me to check on my end :). To see what is included in an update, click WHAT'S IN THIS UPDATE located under the DOWNLOAD SYNC UPDATE link. Please note, that you will only be able to view information about an update if it is available for your VIN. If anyone runs into any issues checking for, downloading, or installing updates, let me know exactly what's happening and I'll do my best to help. Easy Rider Report post Posted September 29, 2014 If and when I am able to get this "update", will applying it wipe out all of my saved personal information......like phone book and GPS destinations, etc. ??? And I don't suppose that Ford/Microsoft has a "soft reboot" available yet either ??I used my bootleg one for the second time last week when the GPS went bonkers. darrelld Report post Posted September 29, 2014 (edited) I would not recommend this update. Since updating to 3.7 my iPhone 6 will not stay connected to Sync. As soon as a call completes the voice settings revert back to the iPhone. Even manually reelecting sync as your speaker option does not restore the call back to Sync. Doesnt matter if the calls are outbound or inbound, as soon as the call completes Sync will immediately drop as if you disconnected but the call on the phone is still active. I did not have this problem with 3.62 and need to find a way to roll back. Wonder what other "features" Microsoft added? Performed a Master Reset, repaired the phone and the problem remains. Problem Resolved: I tested my wife's iPhone 6 Plus v8.02 with my Fusions Sync v3.7 and her phone did not have this problem. Next I went to my iPhone > General > Settings > Reset. Repaired my iPhone 6 Plus v8.02 to Sync 3.7 and now everything is working as it did before. David Niemeyer Report post Posted September 29, 2014 Did the upgrade to 3.7 over the weekend. Had to redo the phone setup including the phonebook and quick dials. Nav kept previous destinations and favorites, but not other settings like North up and tone only. Also sync went back to the novice mode for promting. Overall not too painful. FordIVTteam Report post Posted September 30, 2014 Funny.....I checked and the SYNC site says both of my cars are up to date....they both have 3.2.6. Hi hermans, I think you may have misread the software version. I believe it might say V3.6.2 instead. Send me a PM with the VIN if you'd like me to check for you :). Tried to download the update on two seperate computers. Shows up as in invalid .zip container so I am unable to retreive the files to put on my flash drive. Hey Toz, This issue has been reported by other owners as well. It sounds like the file can't be opened using the standard zip utility built into Windows (Windows Explorer). Our team is currently researching this concern. Other owners have reported that they are able to open the file after installing a 3rd party zip utility such as 7-Zip. If you feel comfortable downloading this, I think it may resolve your concern. If and when I am able to get this "update", will applying it wipe out all of my saved personal information......like phone book and GPS destinations, etc. ??? And I don't suppose that Ford/Microsoft has a "soft reboot" available yet either ??I used my bootleg one for the second time last week when the GPS went bonkers. Hello Easy Rider, Currently, there is no option to soft reboot your system. Once an update is installed, there is a chance that a master reset will need to be performed. This will erase all information stored in your system including phonebook information, call history, text message information, previously paired phones, saved address points, radio presets, and navigation history. Because of this, I recommend making a note of your settings prior to installing any updates. I would not recommend this update. Hi darrelld, You have already walked through the troubleshooting that I would have recommended. I suggest checking out this support page from Apple: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht6473 Other iPhone users have reported that this troubleshooting has resolved their concerns. Did the upgrade to 3.7 over the weekend. Had to redo the phone setup including the phonebook and quick dials. Nav kept previous destinations and favorites, but not other settings like North up and tone only. Also sync went back to the novice mode for promting. Overall not too painful. Hey David Niemeyer, It sounds like the installation went smoothly. I'm glad to hear it! :) Kim
ssnacks Report post Posted September 30, 2014 I just finished updating Sync. When I went to upload the log file from my USB stick, I received this message: Upload unsuccessful. Please try again later. If you continue to experience problems, contact us. I tried Chrome and Firefox. Sync_XT32B2VV_<VIN REDACTED>.xml Has anyone else had problems with this? Send me a PM with the VIN if you'd like me to check for you :). KimYou are right I mis-typed...it's 3.6.2. Though it's really strange that others with 3.6.2 were able to download 3.7. My SYNC pages show the correct VINs for both cars. This is typical of the SYNC site. Edited September 30, 2014 by hermans
mrobinso8 Report post Posted September 30, 2014 (edited) I have the same problem. Sync web page shows my 2013 Hybrid has version 3.6.2 and that Sync is Up to date. I would like to get 3.7 to see if it fixes the problem created with the 3.6.2 update. That being that texting is not supported with a Motorola Droid X2 since update to 3.6.2. GrySql Report post Posted September 30, 2014 For those of us with 2011 - 2013 MY FFH's there is no update, v3.7 is not for us.Kim told me yesterday:"I can confirm that V3.7 is not available for any 2011-2013 MyFord Touch equipped vehicles, which is why you're not seeing the option to update on your account. V3.7 is primarily designed to support new features (which are not available on the model years prior to 2014) as well as features in markets outside North America." dmt1971 Report post Posted September 30, 2014 Kim, so does this mean we are never getting more updates for our "outdated" 2013 cars? What "features" are available in 2014 but not 2013? This seems ridiculous since 2011 and 2012 are the old model and 2013 is the new model (same as 2014). I do not think they changed the MFT hardware for 2014. Please relay the concerns of the 2013 owners who feel like we may be being left in the dark. Key updates (that should not require any updated hardware) include ETA instead of the somewhat useless time to destination, as well as a mute option. We bought these cars under the impression that the software would be updated and improved. It has been over a year since the last update. 2 hybridbear and lesjoh reacted to this
