Press the 2 gears > HELP > SYSTEM INFORMATION. Scroll down and the last 5 digits of the CCPU number should say: 13171. If you see a different number, it means your software is not up-to-date. FordIVTteam Report post Posted March 12, 2014 Gee were you in our Colo? We had an A side power failure that knocked a bunch of stuff down and caused general havoc for hours. :) Sorry, acdii! I didn't mean to ignore you. I must have missed this the first time. Does "our Colo" mean Colorado? If so, we're actually located in Michigan. Yesterday it was beautiful and sunny; today we had no power and a good amount of snow. I never know what to expect! We haven't had any issues with the power since my original post, but I do want to let everyone know that the In-Vehicle Technology phone lines (normally open until 9:00 p.m. EST) are scheduled to close at 8:30 p.m. EST tonight. If you call after that, you may receive an automated message. Just a heads up! :) Kim
Sleddog Report post Posted March 12, 2014 (edited) Situation Normal, All Screwed Up! I've been having issues with the Sync site since before the first of the year. It showed, back around Xmas, I needed an update. Turns out it was the update I already had. So I uploaded an update complete file. It did not show up. So I uploaded it again. No joy. I checked the site on New Year's day and it show I did the update 20 plus times! I wrote support an email about the 20 plus entries that said I completed an update and here's what I got from them... Thank you for your email to the In-Vehicle Technology Team. According to our records your vehicle is equipped with the latest version of SYNC 3.6.2. There are no updates needed at this time. If you report the update correctly it should show right away that you are up to date. If you would like to speak with a SYNC specialist please contact the support center. Please call 800.392.3673 (Select Language preference and then option 3). We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause. Our specialists are available Mon - Sat 8:30 a.m. - 9 p.m. ET and Sundays 10:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. ET. Regards,LindaIn-Vehicle Technology TeamFord Motor Company Well no kidding Linda. I know I have the current update. She missed, and or totally blew off, the reason for the email. The 20 plus update complete entries. But it's all good now. The Sync site now tells me I need to activate my Sync, PLUS, AS A BONUS, I have an update available! OOOHHHHHHHH, I wonder if it's the same one I already have??????????? Hey Kim... Has Ford's IT department ever heard of backing up their databases?? Ford needs to dump Sync and give us the Blackberry system. If it's good enough for Ferrari it will be good enough for us. Where do you guys hire your DB administrators? The way the sight has run since before the first of the year, I'm guessing they're Best Buy Geek Squad rejects. Or Ford hired the last 3 guys in the world coding in Basic 52. You know what they say. Those that can't do it, teach it. Those that can't do either, work at the Ford Sync website. This total lack of professionalism makes me wonder what will happen the next time Ford releases a hybrid update. Maybe, if nothing else, it will reset my mileage to 0. And before anyone askes, this is the way I really feel. :drop: Edited March 12, 2014 by Sleddog
FordIVTteam Report post Posted March 13, 2014 Hey Sleddog, I'm exhausting all of my resources to make sure this gets resolved. Since I have your information already, I'll submit your last post as negative product feedback. I'll send a private message with your case number in case you would like me to add anything to the notes. Kim
JimArch Report post Posted March 13, 2014 (edited) Just an idea, maybe someone who is responsible for sync could provide Kim with a statement of why this situation keeps happening, why it takes days to resolve and what they are doing to prevent this from happening again. When all the technical items and sites are often inaccurate, the problem not originally identified by ford, and no target date for when it will be resolved, people lose confidence and customer satisfaction dwindles. Kim is doing what she can to report and get attention to these issues for us. If I were in her position, I'd press mgmt to put out a status statement and indicate to us if they feel fixing this glitch is a priority to them. Right now it feels like silence is not improving sync's credibility and makes the system feel, and behave, like a poor quality product. The impression that I get is that Ford is not investing in Sync right now, so if it isn't the crisp system with stellar support (no offense to Kim and her team), it is what it is. The concepts and ideas are there, but the infrastructure is not all in place, not all working flawlessly. Thanks. IraF Report post Posted March 13, 2014 (edited) This was probably obvious to most people, but not me so I tried an experiment. After the 1st foul up I added another vehicle with another vin# that already had v3.6.2 on it and then I deleted my first vehicle(the one with the problem). closed completely out of the system and then went back in and not surprising my vehicle (2nd) was up to date v3.6.2.I then added my first vehicle back(my first vehicle was built in 1/2013 so it had only v3.5.1) and deleted the second vehicle and as mentioned above I did the same. Even though I have v3.6.2 in the car the data base was telling me that I needed an update.I also kept the file where you u/l the small file to acknowledge that you have 3.6.2 after doing the update, but that was useless since it must be corrected on the other end. SEE BELOW Kim,Ford keeps saying run a "VHR Report" Can someone explain to these representatives that does not work, . Not only is the MFT sync the wrong version, it also reverted to the old phone number, which was a PITA to get changed last time. I dont receive texts, and they send a text to deregister the phone. The issues have become so severe, everyone is now affected. Perhaps Ford needs to outsource this website. I know a couple of 18 year olds that could probably fix it. These kids are interning with me. JimArch Report post Posted March 15, 2014 The sound of all the customer support silence on this one is deafening. Sorry, at this point it is just embarrassing. Maybe they are all busy reading up on Apple CarPlay. Maybe there is no "they".Maybe we all went back in time and the upgrade website is correct, and we are crazy for complaining about it.Maybe this is an episode of The Twilight Zone? Hey everyone, I just went to the www.ford.com website and now it brings me to a 1987 video of Rick Astley singing "never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down". Do you think we should report this??? Never gonna give... 2 corncobs and GrySql reacted to this
