Smartphone mount?

Recommended Posts

I hope I am asking this in the right spot...

2014 HyTi here, but I *think* the front dash layout should smiliar enough in most 2013-14 FFH models?

I'd like to figure out how to mount my smartphone. There really isn't a place to put it where I can see it or get to it without hassle. Right now it's either pushed under the MFT/climate touchpanel in front of the shifter, or laying on the passenger seat.

I want to try to figure out how to do so in a way that doesn't get in the passenger's way, and doesn't block my view or access to the MFT and climate controls--also really don't want to attach anything to the windshield.

Has anyone managed a smartphone mount in a way that they're happy with? Got a picture by any chance?

Why are you looking to mount your phone? I keep my phone in the slot in front of the shifter and use voice commands to make calls. If I am using Bluetooth for music, I start it before moving and make changes via the steering wheel controls.

Just curious why you want to mount the phone. I would think you could find a phone mount that fits in the vents.

This has been covered before, found one thread but can't find the one where JSKershaw posted some pics, but that was last Feb/March - so use the search on the top right and you might find another one with more pics.

I knew that there had to be something. Just wasn't using the right search terms. Thanks for the link!

In my '12 Focus, I attached a Command Brand picture hanging strip to my sun visor on the inside when it was up. To the back of my Samsung Galaxie III I attached another strip. When I get in the car, I push the phone onto the strip and it stays. Hasn't fallen off yet! When I need to answer the phone, the visor is down and all I do is swipe it to answer it and touch the speaker to access it to be loud enough to hear. Of course, if you need your phone conversations to be more private, then you'll have to put it to your ear, but don't do that when you are driving, especially when you are in So CA. When you do not need it, the visor is in the up position, with the phone hidden up against the headliner. Make sure you remove it from the strip and not leave it in the car when you leave.

You're welcome!

I have the Pro-Clip for my 2013 FFH. It mounts onto the right post that supports the MyFordTouch screen. I bought the swivel version.
