MFT Install Applications setting

Yesterday I was messing around with the settings screens on our MFT and came across an option for "Install Applications". When selecting it, it gives me two options, one for viewing versions and the other for installing applications.

 

Does anyone have any information on this? Is this for AppLink or something else?

Future options. Some day hopefully, Ford will have Applink for MFT and this will be where you would use the apps. On the touch screens that had Applink that was the menu you would use to work Pandora.

The two SYNC applications that are available for MyFord Touch systems are 911 Assist and Vehicle Health Report. Although most software updates are triggered once the USB is plugged in, this INSTALL APPLICATIONS button can be used to trigger the download process if it wasn't done automatically.
