What are the changes to the vehicle in Job 2 for the 2014 ford fusion. I know production does not start until 2014, and it will include Cooled Seats. Is there any other feature/option that will be available?

I was apparently out of it when I typed this, I meant production of the Job 2 will not start until November 4th. The cooled seating option costs about 528 dollars.

heated steering wheel and the wirless charging option will also be added on Job 2. Shame you have to get the cooled seats to be able to get the 10 way power passenger seat. The 10 way power passenger seat should be standard on the TI and optional on the SE.

I will be putting my order in the first week of Oct. I really wanted the heated steering wheel and my wife really wanted the heated/cooled seats. I hope there are no delays with the optional equipment!

When and where can we order the Job 2? If it is going to be produced starting november 4th, is that when they will be shipped? When will we be able to get them? Thanks for all your responses!

Job 2 is the second run for the model year. Just keep checking with the dealer as to when those options are available, then place the order when they are, and you will have a Job2 car. The Titanium Hybrid was Job 2, you couldn't order one until they became officially available which was sometime in November/December last year, then had to wait until around March when they were finally produced. As to when Job 2 officially starts......Only Ford knows.

over on the BOF forums, "Icecapades" who is a ford dealer, thinks that that the late availability options will start being built Nov. 4th as well. So if there are no delays, buyers could start getting their cars at the end of Nov or early Dec. However after waiting through last years Job2 builds, I would not be suprised if none shipped until late Feb. or early March.

Im still wondering about this wireless charging option.. I have one of these and if you breathe wrong it comes off of perfect center and wont charge. Moving down the street will never work properly as it will slide and bump around. I know that toyota has this issue.

Guess it will not matter, I believe that the wirless charging option has been axed.

Yea, even if they had a motorized centering one. My phone makes a horrably loud noise when it gets lined up right and you cant disable it. So it would be ear shattering lol

The Wireless Charging Accessory (77c) option was cancelled several months ago which is why it has been removed from the 2014 Fusion Order Guide.

Hopefully Ford will start scheduling the late avalibility options next week. Planning on putting in my order then. I imagin that with no delays, that I will get my car in mid Dec. but I would not be suprised for it slip into next year.

I agree with Bob Teddy, what are you waiting for?? The longer you wait to place the order the longer it will take to get your car built. Orders that have already been placed will be scheduled first and may fill up the first chunk of the production schedule for those options. If you wait your build might take even longer then because they'll run out of those commodities and place those orders on hold.

As I learned last year it does not really make a rats fart when you put your order in. I watched on this board as people that ordered months after I put my order in get their car built before I even could get a VIN. I live in a small market and I already know that that I will not get my car scheduled ahead of anyone in a larger market. I put my order in pretty early for the HyTi and just got to watch every one else on the board get their car before mine could even get scheduled. If I didn't want a Fusion so badly I just would gone to another brand, but I suspect it would not be much different with who ever I tried to order though. Small markets get screwed when it come to hot car production. So this time I just decided not to care too much about when I get my car. If I had put my order in back in March for a job 2 '14 HyTi with late availability options I doubt I would have gotten it a day earlier than I would ordering it now and I would have been stressing about it much more. Hopefully my dealership will have some more allotments this time. I spent way too much time earlier this year ranting about how screwed up the ordering system is. Cars should be built in the order that they were ordered, period! But I know now that it just dons't work that way. So go ahead and keep believing that when you put your order in makes too much difference. It might in your market, but not here. I know better. I really wish that my 35K$ was the same to Ford as some one in LA or Houston, but it isn't.

For my 2011 f250 the only truck/fleet dealer in this area had to wait for almost all the other dealerships to get them in. They ended up loosing almost 4 sales because of it and i know they had some form of legal recourse against ford due to it. They already locked the dealership down to truck/suv only than went against rules and wouldnt ship them special ordered trucks. They actually got stuck with all of them for a good 6-8 months.

I didn't remember that your delay was an allocation issue. I'd think this would mean that you'd want to order from your dealer as early as possible. If their allocation is small you'd want to get one of their first orders in to Ford then. As we learned when my parents were shopping for their C-Max Energi lots of the local dealers only received 2 or 3 in allocation so they were charging way above MSRP for the cars since they were so rare here. The dealer that sold my parents their Energi gave my parents their last allocation spot to special order the Energi for them. And they still sold the car at invoice price. Later on they must have received more allocation because they've received a few more Energis since.

Well it really doesn't seem to matter when you order. I got lucky this time and got my in VIN 3 days. Guess I just ordered it at the right time. It's like some kind if voodoo. Maybe this is my payback for waiting so long the first time I ordered? :puppy_kiss:

Interesting thing, on my window sticker two option that I was pretty sure would be on my car were not listed, but they are listed on ETIS. One was the sport peddles, not listed on the Hyti window sticker, but listed on the order guide(there have been pictures if the HyTi with the sport peddles so I was not really worried about those) . The other was the Job 2 10 way power passenger seats with the heated/cooled seat option. It did not show up on my window sticker (and made me very nervous because it was one of the options that I waited for a 14 for) The 10 way power passenger does show up in ETIS though, so I guess I can relax.

The Etis shows all options available for both the Fusion and the MKZ. Did you specifically order the 10 way cooled passenger seat?

yes, and the heated/cooled seats show up on the sticker, but it doesn't mention the 10 way power passenger seat. ETIS does have it listed. As far as MKZ options it has a "LESS" in front off all of those.

I all ways am little suspicious of the Fusion order guide. Just cuz it's listed doesn't mean it will make to the final production car. I.E. the 13 and 14 Duel exhaust and the 13 sport peddles for the HyTi. Also the leather shift knobs, but at least that one was fixed.

If thats the build sheet for your car, congrats, you got the good seat. The reason you dont see the 10 Way seat on the sticker is because the heated/cooled seat only comes as 10 Way.
