how to tell if the newest MFT is installed?

how can I confirm that the newest version of MFT is on my car?

Login to http://support.ford.com/ (used to be syncmyride,com). It will tell you what version you have and whether or not you need to upgrade.

they supposedly updated it today. I see no difference from the previous. when I go to sync website it says I need to upgrade. does it take a few days to show up after they do it?

If you're not sure, call Ford support and they can walk you through testing to see if you need an update. I had the same info as you - the website said I needed an update, but when I tried to do it, it said I had the most current. She walked me through testing it, and I did, indeed, have the most current.

If you have sirius, the artist/song title is now displayed in the entertainment section on the home screen in the latest version (it used to be just the channel name). There are a few other new things, that's the one that's the most obvious that I can remember.

If you have MFT go to HOME then SETTINGS then HELP then SYSTEM INFO and you will see CCPU S/W VERSION: this should read 4.30.13171_PRODUCT. As long as the last five digits in this read 13171 you are running SYNC Gen2 Version 3.6.2 according to Ford Motor Company if these last five digits read anything else you are not running under SYNC Gen2 Version 3.6.2

Those 5 digits represent the date the software was release - 13171 means it was released on the 171st day of 2013.

they say they installed the latest version, but they didn't. they said they did, so I guess I'm going to have to do it myself. although my computer is not working..:(

Yes on my home page it says A new Myford/MyLincoln touch update is here. When I follow the links to the upgrade page it tells what version I have and that I am up to date. I also have a 2005 escape hybrid registered and it's smart enough to not show that screen with the escape. Also my car is a Lincoln 2014 MKZ and I can check the version on the MLT 8" screen in the car. I think MLT and MFT are almost identical, but not exactly as my wife has a 2013 Edge and I can find a few little changes in the layout but I can still find the MFT version number. I upgraded the Edge myself then as requested reinserted the SD card in my computer and followed the directions so ford would know the install was done successfully.
