LED everything is an option I would have happily paid extra for.The European Fusion headlight looks really really cool I would like those as standard here as well. LED everything is an option I would have happily paid extra for.LEDs are cool and supposed to last "longer than the car" but the price of replacing them it extremely high. The LED tail light on my 10 Merc Milan HY is all on part, not designed to be repaired or have the bulbs replaced. It was replaced under warranty, but the service writer told me the part was over $400 from Ford. Now I know why I see so many cars with LEDs out. Also, the ability to control whether a 12 volt (lighter style) power receptacle remains on or off when the ignition is off (and at least two of these independent of each other--so they can be set differently). So either my phone or my wife's can be used through the car. - Daytime running lights would be nice, but I don't need them. Now that I learn I can have them activated, I have second thoughts. How much drain will they place on the HVB?In the ScanGauge thread I commented about the power draw of the lights. Based on the fact that park lights and headlights draw the same current as park lights and headlights it's safe to assume that the headlights draw about the same current as the park lights. The increased draw of park lights, headlights and fog lights as compared to the draw of park lights and fog lights is about 0.15 amps. This translates to ~43 watts. That's a pretty minimal power draw. DRLs might be turned on at reduced power and not the full brightness of the headlights which would mean that their power draw is even less. It can also be on the right, but I've never put it there. I always keep the coolant temp on the right. Too bad I can't replace the leaves with a customized MyView and leave the left side on something else. I'll have to play with the MyView to figure out how I want to customize it. If this were true, we couldn't install aftermarket remote car starts. They might not warrentee problems caused by the modifications so you have to be selective how and where you install them. For instance, I'm not keen on splicing into the windshield wiper wiring as suggested above. I'd much prefer to hook directly into a spare fuse slot in the fuse box so that I don't compromise other systems. I'm also not opening up the lights themselves. Of course, now that I think about it, I have had nothing but problems with their service department, and I am now taking my car elsewhere for service, so maybe his statement was based on lack of knowledge on the part of the service tech. When I asked if he could recommend someone to do it outside of their shop, he told me that this would void the warranty against any electrical issues that might come up later on.I am going to check with the new dealer that I am using for service now. MaineFusion Report post Posted September 20, 2013 Ideally, we should probably tie such things into a spare fuse slot, assuming the fuse slot gets turned off when the ignition is off.
