i logged into fordowners.com and under notices it says new recall notice

 

 

 

and here is what they need to do

I just talked to my dealer on this. He said if you start to notice a fuel smell let them know and they will replace the part, but the replacement will eventually start to crack as well. An updated part isn't available yet for them to order but one is "in the works"

Yep, I have the same one. My car is going in next Wednesday for the clicking sound fix and some scratched windows (which were like that when I took delivery). They are replacing the back driver and small triangle rear window under warranty. I will also have them look into this new recall #13S04. Might as well get everything done at once!

Same thing I'm going to do -- my wife's got an upcoming school trip so I'll have both cars while she's away, will drop mine off for the day with the recall/TSB numbers as the work needed, at least get a work order opened and the parts ordered based on it.

This recall doesn't seem to effect all Fusions maybe only Job 1.

I don't see the recall notice in ford.owner.com or in ETIS for my VIN.

Good call corncobs on the Job 1 v Job 2.

 

I have a list that I've made along the way as people mention their VIN, so that when someone refers to a VIN/build date type thing and I wonder about something, I can just bring up the list rather than hunt through past posts or search the cyberdman theads, so it's a convenience thing. Anyway.... here is what I see from checking a few VINs in Etis:

 

Checked 12 VINs from Job 1 - 12 of 12 have it

Checked 12 VINs from Job 2 - 0 of 12 have it

 

Note for acdii -- checked the VIN of the prior love of your life, yes it has that one - and more:

Now knowing that and that from what I read somewhere else that not even all of them are necessarily bad could that also be a reason for the bad FE that some people are getting especially from Job1? acdii's former FFH could be a very prominent example!

So what's the difference between a field service item and a TSB. I don't see the TSB for cracking sound listed on anyone's to do list. Why is that?

Hey thanks for looking that old wonderbug up.

 

I stopped by the dealer today, walked in and my salesguy walked up and I said, Well, where is it, WHERE IS IT!!! Of course big grin on my face while doing it, with my wife tagging along smirking. Few more days, so hoping by Wednesday I will have it.

 

Keeping everything crossed that this one is as great as my Flex has been.

 

Then again, had I not had that blue beast, I would not have the perfect Flex either! :) There is a reason for everything.

Very interesting. If you can smell fuel then that means that gas is escaping which would lead to lower fuel economy. My first car was a 1998 Chevy Lumina with the 3100 engine. Best fuel economy I ever got was around 25 MPG when cruising on the highway. That car leaked fuel somewhere as it always smelled of gas after driving it. In the city I'd only get around 15 MPG. It was my first car and it had over 180,000 miles when I got it. I only drove it a few months and then got a slightly better car. Anyhow, the point was that if you smell fuel you will see lower gas mileage because fuel is going in the tank but never making it to the engine

Before I parked the Bronco II, driving it you could smell more fuel than at a refinery in Texas City.

Checked the owner site and I have the recall notice indicated too (late November build). I have had good to excellent fuel economy so i can't really complain, but if it will somehow get better with this module being replaced, great!

Ford is issueing Three Seperate Recalls.

The latest Ford recalls will have registered owners, as well as police departments, taking their vehicles back to the dealerships for the appropriate repair(s), all done at no cost. If you would like more information, or would like to schedule a service appointment, you may contact your local Ford/Lincoln dealer (most Lincoln dealerships were absorbed into the Ford stores after the shuttering of the Mercury brand a few years ago).

Got it, that's 13 of 13... though I did see someone post that they had a January build date and theirs shows up, don't know if Job 1 ended at the end of December or sometime early January... doesn't really matter, just curious.

Found it for mine. I'll set up tomorrow. No fuel smell, but lifetime at 37.x. I hope this helps.

dropped it off this morning and the manager tells me that they dont have a replacement till 3rd Quarter of this year, so they will check to see if mine is leaking and replace that one with one that might break again
