1000 mile MPG challenge

Not bad not bad at all for the temps we have had during this time period.

 

When I calculate my last 1000 mile avg. it results in a flat 41 MPG based on the cars computer.

Real data returns 38 MPG.

I decided to use Trip2 to track data between oil changes. The last reset I did last August but I don't remember the occasion.

 

Even knowing that real world is less this result tells me I made the right decision when I bought the FFH.

I won't ever be catching you except if I make another cross country trip. ;)

 

You are right about my MPG and I also think that my trip layout works in my favor. I could easily kill my mileage by 3-5 MPG by driving as irrational as some driver during the morning and afternoon commute.

I think this summer my MPG will be better than last year. I got 45 MPG last night on the way home, which is unusual since I rarely ever got that during the summer. Seems like its all up hill going home. We washed it last night, maybe thats the trick, of course, Snow tonight and tomorrow, grrrrr.

Latest 1000 mile challenge. From 2/7/14 till 4/17/14. Very cold temps. Only a couple weeks of above freezing temps. Includes about 350 miles of 65 MPH interstate driving.

I almost missed posting this 1000 mile challenge. From 4/17/14 till 4/27/14. Temps were 30-70, almost all freeway driving at 65-70 MPH, including 30 miles in strong wind & rain at 30 MPG.

 

Here is the most recent one from 4/27/14 to 6/7/14. The first 180 miles of this 1000 were freeway driving in heavy rain & strong winds at only about 32 MPG. The rest of the 1000 miles was mostly city driving.

Latest 1000 mile challenge from 6/7/14 to 7/1/14. There was a lot of highway driving in these 1000 miles, hence the low EV miles number. Over 500 miles of the 1000 were at 65+ MPH on the interstate.

Most recent pic. From 7/1/14 to 7/24/14. Basically all freeway driving at 65-75 MPH, hence the low number of EV miles. Most about 500 miles were freeway trips around MN where we drove halfway against wind & halfway with wind for a net of about 46 MPG. The other 500 miles were driving south into a strong south wind at only about 38 MPG.

The 1000 mile pics should always line up with the odometer unless I forget one time to get a pic when I'm supposed to.

Most recent pic. Mostly freeway on the KC trip. About 300 miles were city driving mostly by my wife while the Focus Electric was at the body shop.

We were there in May visiting a son/family, 1,600 miles from home (on topic words),

 

In September you could go to the OZtoberfest in Wamego, KS.

We were there once, by accident, and saw the remaining actors that played the munchkins in the 1938 Wizard of Oz movie.

They were all coming out of the Oz Winery tasting room, on their way Toto's Tacoz for lunch.

First 1000 mile odometer increment in the Energi. Mostly highway driving. 460 of the miles were interstate driving. From 9/6/14 to 9/16/14.

It's an Energi. You are not including the energy that was drawn from the wall charger to charge the battery.

That's a good feeling, you'd never see that in a VW TDI.

 

Time flies, we're getting mighty close to the end of the BtB Warranty, I'm at 32k+.

Glad I bought the ESP Warranty.

Same here, 33 and change. Lot of miles in 16 months.
