Sirius trial Package

When the dealer replaced my hybrid 12v battery I had to reset my dash and radio settings. Before I had the battery replaced I had the basic 6 month trial package and immediately after the battery change I had the full blown version, literately a few hundred stations. Any idea how that happened? I don't see where it would be connected to the battery change. I have never purchased the Sirius package and I did not upgrade my trial package.

What do you get on the full blown version that you don't on the trial version?

The trial package is very limited. I don't know how many channels, but now I have a lot more stations. The trial package is the same that I've had in my other Fords when they were new. It's very limited. My relative has the full package in is new Ford truck and my trial package is now like his that he pays for.

Never heard of a trial package only a trial subscription period. My FFH has all the available Sirius channels not that find anything I want to listen too. Had Sirius in my GTi for a while and only listened to one channel BBC Radio 1, but when that got replaced I let my subscription lapse. Will not be renewing the subscription when it expires this time either.

There are some premium channels that cost extra that you dont get in the trial. You can upgrade to them for free during the trial, but then you have to pay for them once it expires.

As I stated in my first post, I didn't upgrade. I guess I'll just enjoy it until the 6 month trial is up.

I downloaded the SiriusXM app on my iPhone, but couldn't log in. I called Sirus, and they said the internet package was $3.50 per month extra. Is that part of the full blown version? Other than that, I don't think I'm missing any of the other stations.

I just passed the 6-month mark for my car and did subscribe to sirius radio and traffic (not travelink) for 3 years -- I did it 3 days before my trial was ending, but apparently that was after the threshold where they think you're not going to renew, and so last week (a week after I subscribed) I got a letter in the mail from Sirius as a s special for 'former listeners' that was for a free 6 months when you buy a year.

 

So for those who are on the fence or plan to only buy a year at a time, may be better to let it expire and see if you also get one of these letters right after the trial ends.

Thanks for sharing, that's good to know! I have another month to go on the free trial, and I can't decide if I should renew, but 6 months free would certainly sweeten the deal.

I have an old XM radio that has been out of service for at least 4 years.

About once a month I get an emailed offer to put it back in service for 6 months for $25.

Oh I got you ALL beat! I have had at least 6 radios before the current 2. You would be amazed at how many letters I get from Sirius/XM wanting me to come back.

In fact days after cancelling my subscription on the 2010, I get a call asking me to come back. Hello?!?!?! I just cancelled it because I no longer have the CAR! DOH!

I was not too impressed by there few stations that were available or the amount of money they want to subscribe. $17.00 a month come on! I like regular HD Radio way better which I have in my Toyota Tacoma Pickup. I use my ZUNE with 700 CD's on it and it's much better than what Sirius offers. I just have it on random play and have a big smile on my face while listening to my favorites not some one else's.

My wife has a 2007 VW Beetle with Sirius, expired long ago, but they never shut it off for some reason - FREE for Life!

And I get the same "please come back" offer letter for it every few months.

A fellow Zune user, I used my Zune when I first got the FFH but got fed up of transferring it back and forth to the dock in my office, so ended up buying a 32gig mini thumb drive and just leave that plugged into the car. It is not big enough to hold everything that the 120gig Zune holds but it is enough for even the longest road trip.

 

As for my Sirius subscription I got a call from them last week offering me a $5 per month for 6 month deal, the sales guy was a little surprised when I said no thanks because it brought absolutely no value to me and my life. I think even if it was free I would not listen to it.

I have yet turned it on in either of my cars. Only thing I find useful is the weather and fuel prices, but recently the fuel prices have been missing at a few station, actually the stations themselves dont even come up anymore.

Really? We miss it now that our 6 months has expired. We really enjoyed the no commercials and some options that we don't have on local radio like jazz stations. We keep getting letters to come back and have thought about buying another 6 months but haven't done it yet. It's interesting that on the letters trying to get you to come back the price per month for the 6 month offer is cheaper than the price per month for the year offer. I'd think we'd just buy another 6 months and then cancel and hope they offer us a deal again if we did want to keep it long term.

The only time I used Sirius was while driving to and from CA not since. A 32GB SD card does a good job in keeping me entertained. ;-) I don't like listing to the same song on the radio twice a day which usually happens in the morning and afternoon.

I personally prefer Sirius/XM. We don't get HD radio here and the local FM stations are pretty weak. I do have a 64 GB USB plugged in and ready to go, but I like the variety I can find on the satellite radio sometimes. I don't like to stream from my phone much, though I would if Ford would get Applink working.

Nice! I love my sat radio, since FM is basically junk around my neck of the woods, and the only 2 HD radio stations are religious.

The 6-month trial ended on my FFH and I called them because I wanted to keep the traffic and weather maps. We went round and round for a while and they offered me what I wanted along with their Premier package for $40. for 6 months. In 6 months the music will be 86'd

When I tuned to Sirius today, I got a Renewal Reminder - each time I change the station, before the music plays, there is a reminder that my trial period is about to come to an end. Is this going to continue until August 23rd when the trial comes to an end?

Mine did that a few times (I've since bought it), but I don't remember that I got it every single time I changed a station. Maybe there's a process where it plays to you at 30-days prior, then 20-days, 10-days, when you change the station (guessing maybe it's based on an interval).... then on the last day it interrupts the programming every 5 minutes to remind you (OK that part I made up, it's not true... I hope!)

Yep every time! However I can tell you it wont happen on either of my cars, I have yet to turn on Sirius.
