corncobs Report post Posted April 30, 2013 Talking about happy mpg talk... Driving back "home" this afternoon on the 5, 134 & 101. https://www.dropbox.com/s/oiifleowfy6abxn/Photo%20Apr%2029%2C%206%2022%2018%20PM.jpg 43 mpg without even trying; I don't wanna upset the LA drivers too much ?since traffic is already nuts but very hybrid friendly. 1 hybridbear reacted to this
gadgetguy Report post Posted April 30, 2013 (edited) Ok here are a couple of good MPG readings from this afternoon. Here is the first leg at speeds of 60 to 75 on the interstate..https://www.dropbox.com/s/kgsjlr4446p8fk1/20130429_134654.jpg Here is the second leg which was at speeds of 35 to 60 on a 2 lane highway.https://www.dropbox.com/s/7501ysw519clpkg/20130429_161940.jpg Temps were in the mid 70's. Here is my fill up today and the physical numbers I calculated were almost identical. I do not like running it down to almost nothing lol so I usually will fill up right around 1/4 tank. I could have easily gotten over 400 miles.https://www.dropbox.com/s/f1f2wg09veb6q5h/20130429_165920.jpg Edited April 30, 2013 by gadgetguy 2 hybridbear and corncobs reacted to this
HenryVIII Report post Posted April 30, 2013 (edited) Not Hybrid related but I did manage to get EPA easily doing a long test drive of a Fusion Titanium 2.0 EB AWD. I think I can even exceed it with my driving. However, any city driving kills fuel economy lol. It's all about using the coaching bars/gauges to get great Fuel Economy in this car. Once you mastered how to drive it, then you get rewarded with a terrific ride in style, best in class imo. IIRC you were one of those that were getting less than desired mileage. no i really didnt have bad but i was getting 35 - 39 mpg, when i first got the car in feb and even then i was still getting 200 miles more a tank than i would on my 07 corolla that it replaces, also this is my first hybrid so i had alot to learn since my corolla had some modifications to the engine

tombarker13ffh Report post Posted April 30, 2013 (edited) OK, this isn't fair. We need a video of this - and you need to start teaching hybrid driving to us ....I took a couple extra country roads, probably only went like 45mph the whole way, except in town. tank mpg was over 60 though. Only got 50mpg taking the highway home and tank mpg dropped to 56. Still, I'm not gonna be buying much gas this summer of the warm weather has this kind of effect. Also, if I had a couple of those fancy GoPro HD cameras, I'd stick one in the dash and one on the info display and make driving videos, but I don't... Also also, Da0ne and my cars are twins and have the same name! Edited April 30, 2013 by tombarker13ffh 2 gadgetguy and Da0ne reacted to this
jeff_h Report post Posted April 30, 2013 (edited) I took a couple extra country roads, probably only went like 45mph the whole way, except in town. tank mpg was over 60 though. I've also got a podunk road that is the back way home, will take it tomorrow afternoon as I won't have my carpooler with me.... on the afternoon commutes when I get 58 or 59 MPG it's because I took that road that is perfect for MPG as it has lots of short rolling hills where you can play the little hills just right -- though today's afternoon commute on the regular route was 52.7, certainly nothing to sneeze at! So with that 52.7, enabled the lifetime MPG on the display to inch up to 47.8 (still about 1.5 optimistic vs fuelly actual). Added: Was able to take the podunk road on the afternoon commute, didn't get the 58 or 59 as I have in the past, but 57.0 is pretty darn good too...
