GrySql Report post Posted April 27, 2013 I have not received any letter... for the dealers that ask why Ford doesn't notify them, we've seen discussion about commodities/constraints regarding the sales guys, aren't there similar bulletins that go out to the service guys? Obviously there are for recalls, I assume there is also info on TSBs, but not so for these types of issues? Maybe there's a dealer rep around here from the service side that can fill in the blanks on how that process works...The Service Dept gets bulletins but they are only concerned when you show up for Service. They pull your VIN then and know what to do.My Service Rep is aware of my cars issues now and is keeping an eye out for me, when he remembers. I help him remember. My Sales guy (Fleet Mgr) doesn't know anything about these issues with my specific car, unless I call and inform him, he's too busy. However, I did exactly that in the beginning when I couldn't get the Service Department to acknowledge the shifter issue. My Sales Rep went to the LA Zone Mgr, she went to Fusion Marketing, Fusion Marketing went to this Forum and back down the pipe - to me.For bringing this shifter issue to Marketing's attention I got a nice box full of Ford Fusion gifts as a 'thank you'. That was a thoughtful thing to do. 1 hybridbear reacted to this
erichFla Report post Posted April 27, 2013 (edited) Just got back from the Dealer with my Shiny NEW Leather Shifter Knob 13B03 Customer Satisfaction Number and the first thing I checked to see if the Up Hill Assist worked , It did. That's the little button on the side of your new or old shifter knob. Now the rest of the story as Paul Harvey use to say. I'll keep it short. 1. The clicking noise in the front of the car = Common noise made by the gas engine and the Electric motor. I LoL'ed.2. The global open & close of All Windows = Oh, we re-set all windows.3. Can you re-set the auto lock on All doors to lock in Drive and unlock in Park instead of Lock at 15 MPH. = We don't know how to do that.4. Battery won't fully charge = Oh, that Never will fully charge you'll be lucky to get 60% charge. After that I went to the Service Manager and had a talk with him. He had no clue about what his people are doing. And last but not least. Where is my paperwork for today.= We don't give you warranty paper work. I plan on Calling Ford Customer Service and Report this Dealership on Monday, this being Sat. To Keep on Topic..... the Shifter Knob is installed and I like it, makes the shifter area look better too.On the #-3..... The Service Manager brought the Master Mech. around to see me today and he said I don't see that's possible BUT we'll call the Ford Hot Line and find out, I don't see that change in my manual. You're right about #-3 Maybe , it was done on my Toyota Tundra with no problem at all, so I thought it's a software thing ALL cars could have it done but I'm finding out not.#-4"s answer will be on the Paperwork I'm picking up tomorrow, MAYBE.I've contacted Ford Corp. and now have a case # . They are going to look into why I'm not getting my paperwork. That is NOT a Ford policy. Their ( Corp. Main Office ) C.S. Rep. is going to call me back after Tue. to see if I have my receipt paperwork by then. I called them (Corp.) back and updated that I went to the Dealership and still don't have any paperwork as of today Mon. erichFla Report post Posted May 3, 2013 (edited) Grade Assist, I stand corrected.Anyway, I just pushed it on while setting in my driveway in Park and the little Yellow Car symbol going up a Grade came on in the display on the left hand Display near your Mileage indicator.I didn't go up a Grade anywhere. I just wanted to know they hooked up the Two Wires inside the shifter Knob correctly.Another Poster said they had to take theirs back as it didn't work when they left the dealership, the light didn't come on in the display. The Two wires had fallen off from an improper install, that's why I checked mine. http://fordfusionhybridforum.com/topic/5998-wrong-shifter/page-7 <<<<< See Post #'s 134 &135 in this Link. I don't know why they would send me a letter to upgrade to 3.5.1. Anybody notice there was a 4/30/2013 experiation date on the shift knob letter? Ford should still honor it. We've been at the dealer for so many other issues it seems like we never get to drive our car... I guess that's the benefit you get for your long wait to get the car since you ordered before we did but didn't get your car until a month later due to the quality inspection issues. Our car was breezed through from order to delivery in 6.5 weeks Edited May 5, 2013 by hybridbear

GrySql Report post Posted May 6, 2013 (edited) It really seems that certain cars charge their batteries, both LV & HV, differently.I've (Ruby) read your style of driving, followed your regional temps, looked at build dates and one thing seems to stand out, you (and the other high mileage FFH's) cars seem to have HVB's that can push the cars farther and recharge quickly.Make's one wonder if these HV Li-Ion batteries can be tested to see if they are performing to spec's and what those spec's might be.Some of these HVB'S packs could have been sitting in a boxcar in the Sonoran desert for a long time before being installed and excessive heat can alter their performance, just a thought. My HVB discharges pretty fast, and charges up hard and that makes my mileage about middle of the road of the FFH's here. Our weather is good, I wonder how a harsh, cold winter would affect my car's mpg's.I really wouldn't change this car now, it has too many other fine qualities but sometimes the strange HVB behavior makes me wonder.Maybe this will be a 'change every two years' car, being an early adopter has it's pitfalls. beckyinma Report post Posted May 6, 2013 I received a letter in the mail last week (May 2nd) from FMC: "Customer Satisfaction Program 13B03: Your vehicle may have been delivered to you without the specified leather gearshift knob due to a production error. To ensure that your vehicle has all the correct equipment, FMC has authorized your dealer to install a leather gearshift knob free of charge under the terms of this program." After checking here at the comparison pictures, I did indeed receive a urethane shift knob and will be taking it in to have it replaced. I'm glad they are taking responsibility to ensure that equipment packages are complete. Happy to report at 4500 miles, my '13 hybrid is up to 40.8 average mpg already. It's possible that some of the lower mileage cars have issues with some bad cells in the battery. Acdii has also theorized this about his lemon car. 1 MXGOLF reacted to this
