What changes would you like to see?

Yes, taking away the Intelligent Access and Push Button Start to reserve for the Titanium really ticked me off after all the bragging about their availability before invention of the Hybrid Titanium. And I would have gone for the Titanium if not for the mandatory Dark leather.

 

Agree, this was very annoying and we almost bought a C-Max because there we could get Push Button Start in the SEL. The TCH also offers this at a cheaper price point than the Titanium Hybrid.

 

Just one... a push button start should have come with my car...

 

 

Xenon or LED headlights would be a plus as well. Unless I'm wrong this comes with Halogen?

 

Our Saab 9-5 Aero we used to have had Xenons and we loved them, except when it was time to pay for replacement bulbs...

 

Agree with all the above. Would also like to be able to put MyView on the RH display. Think anyone from Ford follows these posts? Would be nicew to get some feedback fromn them once in a while.

 

Agreed, since we didn't want MFT we can only have efficiency leaves on the RH display and I could care less about the leaves, I like numbers and data.

 

If you could suggest to Ford what changes you would like to see for the 2014 or 2015 Fusion Hybrid, what would they be? I feel Ford has gotten all the major things right, with only minor tweaks being on my wish list:

1. Make the Intelligent Key and Push Button Start standard on the SE, or at least part of the Technology Package. With all the other high tech options, the key into the ignition is too old school. If they don’t do this, at least put an illuminated ring around the ignition. I feel awkward almost every time I try to find the slot to insert the key.

4. Make Ambient Lighting available for the SE.

 

And, ambient lighting...my wife cares more about this than I do...but she still brings it up after a few months of owning the car wishing we had it. Another reason we almost bought a C-Max, ambient lighting comes on the SEL trim level.

I find it strange that they do look at and respond on the Flex forum, but not here. I have Ambient in my 2010, which is pretty nice to have, but the 13 dash is so bright at night with the my touch and dash that the ambient would get muddled.

Top of my wish list is a feature I have on my 2008 Taurus. Illinois law says when you turn on your windshield wipers you have to turn on your headlights. I have that feature on my Taurus. The lights go on when the wipers are turned on. I wish they would continue that as a standard feature on all vehicles.

I think that was mentioned in another thread here somewhere, and if you have your lights set to 'auto' then when you turn on the wipers the lights will also come in on.

Per page 65 of the hybrid manual, if the auto headlights and auto wipers are selected, when the wipers are triggered to run continuously by rain, the low beam lights will be turned on.

This is only on the Fusions with the rain-sensing wipers, correct? Being that it's winter we don't get rain right now so I haven't been able to test this...but I always turn my lights on manually in rain or fog or snow...I'm more concerned about my wife because she forgets that the auto lights don't come on in those situations.

My wife has only one issue. She is left handed and when she pushes the button to open the key - it opens into her hand.

 

I'm left-handed too and have the same issue.

The lights come on any time the wipers are on as long as the light switch is in the auto mode, regardless if they are rain sensing or not.

Actually I've just learned to hold the key in my right hand. But this is just an example of how push button start would be superior

I feel the threshold needs to be changed so that the headlights come on at a higher level of daylight. I'm constantly forced to manually turn them on when I have them set on Auto. I don't like being one of the last ones to have their lights on in the evening.

Also, I think the interior and exterior lights stay on for too long a period after you close the door. I know locking the car will turn them off sooner, but I park in my garage and I don't want to lock it there.

I'm still hoping that Ford will make an Engine Block Heater a standard option, and combine it with a charging circuit that would bring the HVB up to 100% SOC in about two hours.

The courtesy lights are a battery drainer, especially with that wimpy 390 CCC starting battery.

The combo EBH and SOC charger is an outstanding idea and if Ford doesn't make it we can hope an aftermarket company will.

Wear a hat. When you take it off in the car, stick in on the middle of the dash against the window. Lights will come on then.

I agree with all of this (the lights staying on after getting out of the car isn't an issue for me, as I always lock the car, but I can see your point). Especially on the headlight issue. There have been a couple times where I'm very surprised that my lights aren't on. Add to that the absence of DRL, and it can really be pretty unsafe. the charging circuit would be a nice little addition too.

I agree on the lights too. I often turn my lights on manually because the car's sensor doesn't. In MN it is the law that your headlights need to be on if it's raining or snowing. The FFH will turn the lights on when set to auto if you turn the wipers on, but often it is dark enough outside because of heavy clouds that I turn my lights on for safety even when the car doesn't.

 

Another time that people forget to turn their lights on is when driving on 2-lane country roads. In MN you're supposed to have your headlights on when driving on country roads for improved visibility when passing

I got into the habit of driving with my headlights on years ago and still do, rain or shine.

 

That's a good habit to have. Turning your lights on is the cheapest insurance policy. I try to turn at least the park lights on all the time since the car doesn't have DRLs.

 

The headlights were one of my favorite features of the Saabs I've owned in the past. In a Saab the headlights are on all the time. The headlight switch is just to control the headlights in the Accesory or On position when the engine isn't running. Once the engine is running the headlights are always on. I believe some Volvos do the same thing. The Swedes might not have been very good at some aspects of building cars, but when it comes to safety no other car comes close...I miss my Saabs but I don't miss putting gas in them

I guess since Scandinavians have to drive with head lights on by law it makes sense to have that feature available by default.

 

I'm in the same boat with driving without any lights on even during the day that's why I added the LEDs as sort of cheap DRL replacement.

Put a hat on the dash in the middle against the windshield, lights will be on at all times then, thats where the sensor is located.
