gdn Report post Posted March 14, 2013 Hmmm...I ordered Titanium mid-December. About ten days ago I heard from my dealer that my order was listed as prioirity one and a VIN number was assigned. No info on delivery was available and there was no guessing when. Last Friday, my salesman called again and asked if I really wanted the moonroof. I said I could live without it. He said vehicles with moonroofs were not being made because of liner issues. Anyone else hearing this about the moonroofs?Just curious what's up and how this liner problem was associated with the shortage of moon roofs? I know I'm on the hybrid forum, but is there any real difference in the gas vs hybrid car as far as the moon roof is concerned? I had a gas Titanium with moon roof built last Friday 3/8. There is apparently a shortage of red paint and now moon roofs that are causing some cars to be pushed out - but thought it was strictly a parts shortage. I'd be really interested to know if there are more head liner issues as those all seemed to be worked out a few months back. I think the source has some bad information. I called Ford and asked about the hold up since I know orders after mine, both in my color (J4) and with Moonroofs are getting built. They are looking into it and will call me back in two business days... got a call back in about 3 hours letting me know they will look into my order and again stated a 2 business day wait. She did have the name of my sales maanger (not sales person) so I know she was actually looking into it. I really had hoped I'd gotten scheduled this week, but no dice, so on to week 10. This put me at a minimum 16 weeks order to delivery. Dealership offered an 8-20 wekk initial estimate. Which is mid May. Probably going to cost me more than I want since it will take a long time to be delivered, and I am hanging onto the current one until it comes in, but plan to only drive one day a week and keep it under 100 miles a week. cwb1183 Report post Posted March 16, 2013 (edited) If you got a Vin from your dealer they should also be able to provide you with a "scheduled to week", push them to get it , Wait until the Friday before your build week to ask Cyberdman for an update and get a "Scheduled to Day" FYI my Vin was available 7 days before my build day. The longer it takes to get it, the less my current one is worth. So add me to the waiting list. Order placed this morning for DIB, Adaptive Cruise, Moonroof, and Tech package HyTi. going to be at least 8 or more weeks before I probably even see a VIN, but in the mean time, not going to drive my current one unless I have to, and try to keep the miles under 10K until the new one arrives. Also going to stash some cash on the side to help reduce the payment. With all the good cars you all are getting now, this one should be fine, and that is all I care about at this point. Maybe, but Leif Johnson Ford in Austin is the largest in Austin. They also claimed to have moved the most CMax in the area too. Of the 3 'big' Fords, two have 4 Energi's inbound, last has 3. They're all built.
