Okay, here goes my lists...

LOVE

11. that it reads my instant messages to me

Am I just stupid? How do you get the car to read your instant messages to you? I'd love it to do that, but this is the first I have heard of it! :sos:

Phone - Messaging (if your phone supports it).

It does, but I'm one of the throngs of people who are not too fond of MFT. It absolutely NEVER works for me. Even something as simple as "CLIMATE - set temperature to 75 degrees", it asks, "did you say set temperature to 85 degrees?" HUH??? I say "Call Dad Cell", it responds "Calling Dr. BIshop." HUH??? I think text messages and/or Instant Messages are beyond MFT capability!

Sending text messages is a whole different story; reading them isn't too bad as long the received text isn't too cryptic.

Now commanding certain things I found less is more. Let the sync lady figure out that your dad might have multiple phone numbers it will ask you.

The temp setting I just tried the other day and it asked me as well but at least she understood the correct temperature.

There is a setting where you can set to not ask questions or at least not every time.

Is this messaging thing like when I roll down the window and say "You can go to hell too!" That's really all I know how to do.

I have my sync set to advanced. No 10 questions... Just a beep, and occasionally a confirmation question, although a much shorter version. :)

Okay, here goes my lists...

LOVE

1. that I love to drive again (had been increasingly growing adverse to traffic, congestion, driving habits of others)

2. the much calmer driving persona that I have developed since beginning to drive the FFH

3. counting the money that I'm not spending on gasoline each month (currently saving $167/mth)

4. not having to fill-up with gasoline 2X a week (now its 2X a month)

5. voice controls over most activities that I use (phone, climate control, radio)

6. feeling of safety when I drive (new driving habits, multiple air bags, driving aids, safety ratings)

7. comfortable leather seats (it fits and feels right for me)

8. the quiet drive

9. the FFH forum where I have gained a lot of knowledge

10. easy phone pairing for hands-free use

11. that it reads my instant messages to me

12. the little checkered victory flag waving once I reach my destination (still enjoying it!)

13. navigation system

14. colorful displays and multiple options for them

15. rear view camera and sensors

16. the switchblade remote control key (no poking in my pocket)

17. wipers and headlamps automatically turning on when I need them

18. handy sunglasses holder

19. no gas cap to forget

20. automatic high beam headlamps (surprised me the 1st time!)

21. blind spot monitor (BLIS is a great addition)

22. the back seat legroom (my passengers say it's great)

23. the front styling of this car (love the Aston grill)

HATE

1. recalls/TSBs with the 1st year model (but knew to expect it)

2. the drain of MPG when the A/C is used in hot weather

3. climate control randomly turning on (heated seats, heater, A/C, etc turned on by a "ghost")

4. the single efficiency leaf falling away if I put the ignition key in without turning it on right away

5. lack of trust in a fully charged 12V battery (replaced once so far)

6. voice recognition errors (I said "call Mom", not "tune to CNN")

7. the fingerprints on the touchscreen (way too easy to accumulate)

8. no convenient place to put small trash

9. trunk only goes halfway up with remote (would prefer an "all the way up" option)

10. relatively small gas tank (would love to get 700+ miles per tank regularly)

11. that the ambient lighting option was not reasonably available for me

12. the antenna sticking out as it does

I will add more as I think of them.

okay, it may seem premature but I'm going to go ahead and add Love #24:

24. that Ford seems like they are genuinely trying to make a good thing even better (PCM recalibration upgrade)

and that officially makes twice as much Love as there is hate

Here's mine:

Love:

1) Driving a hybrid and looking a heckuva lot nicer than a Prius doing it.

2) Spending 1.5x less in gas than my 2005 Ford Five Hundred Trade in

3) Traffic (never thought I'd say that!)

4) Ragging my office coworker with a Prius that I can go fast on EV and he can't! (updated PCM)

5) The optional Baby Seal Skin seats... so smooth!

Hate:

1) Being a Conservative and getting ragged by my friends for driving a hybrid

2) That my optional Baby Seal Skin seats were so expensive! ;)

3) The dirty looks I get for driving a hybrid (hey! It's the gas prices buddy! Not the politics!)

I tell people the hell with politics, it's all about beating the oil robber barons and keeping $$$$ in my wallet. That usually shuts them up.

I really don't understand that at all. Driving smarter and conserving precious resources shouldn't offend anyone. It just makes no sense.

I had a distant relative who would complain every time I posted something about the FFH on Facebook. I responded by telling him that it was no problem and I had a solution - I de-friended him.

Isn't it strange that you have to unfriend people who should mind their own business in the first place? Too many things have been politizied.

I haven't had any negative reaction, but when I mention mileage I get a lot of positive responses. I usually don't talk about mileage unless someone asks me.

I think a lot of folks don't think we should conserve. Try to find a builder in many states who only build energy efficient houses.

Oh, it's easy

You just can't fix Stupid.

If every one just just a bit more conservatively, and smarter, there would be fewer traffic jams, accidents, and people would actually save some gas.

Everyone loves my MKZ.. and they dont know its a hybrid because nobody knows thats what the "h" on the back stands for.

Once i get the thing good and warmed up during the day now I have no issue getting 38mpg. At night i get 44-51mpg.

I think at night im so tired my driving habbits get better, or maybe its just more "lincoln-y" Like a old grandpa lol

26. seeing the absolutely full SOC in highway driving (especially upon exiting the interstate) and STILL getting 47 MPG

27. going from Orlando to Houston and only stopping once for gas

28. no aching back after 1000 mile trip, despite minimal rest stops - very comfortable seats

29. Adaptive Cruise Control !!! Set and forget. Set it slightly under speed limit and didn't worry about speeding ticket either. Great stress reducer!

4 very true additional points and I totally relate especially on #28 after doing a trip to and from Atlanta. Now I wish I would have coughed up the money for driver assist package.
