Mud Flaps anyone?

Recommended Posts

I installed mud flaps on my vehicles in the past. Living with Wisconsin winters, salt and sand spread on the roads is a pain.

I bought them for my new Fusion Hybrid SE which came in damaged recently. Since I already had the mud flaps, I reordered it as a Titanium Hybrid :drop: After all, what could I do with just mud flaps?

I tried to enter flaps into the configurator and the front and rear were exclusive i.e. they cancelled the other. Impossible to configure both. I'm planning on aftermarket.

I bought them from Ford through their parts department at the Dealer - most will discount if you are a customer. I gave them to the Salesman and told him to have them on the car when I pick it up.

We had the OEM molded mud flaps installed today. They fit very well. Took the dealer about an hour to install them.

Any noticeable change in MPG due to air flow?

I installed mine yesterday on my hybrid titanium. We took a trip today to charlotte, about 2 hrs away. We averaged around 40 the whole time. We have 700 miles on the car now, so I cant tell you for sure if theres a difference. Seems about the same as before, but they fit nicely, and are easy to install. Ebay has a ford dealership on there selling them for 89.00 a set shipped. that's where I got mine.

So what's the cheapest price for the molded mud flaps? I found them for $39.99 + tax for each set (front & rear) at my dealer. The total would be $85. Who can beat that (don't forget about shipping)?

Hmm, they're $39.49 at a dealer 50 min away - $0.50 isn't worth the drive :)

Get em. The lowest price I have seen is usually partscheap.com and they are asking $40 each for them.

Got mine through that ebay store as well. Installed a couple weeks ago, and it's well worth the money. Can't even tell they're there and they keep a lot of stuff from flying up from my tires.

So my front guards came in and I just installed them. I like the look, but I wonder if I really need the rear ones too...

Thoughts?

Here you go:

They will definitely keep the road crap from flying up and sandblasting the paint.

Rear splash guards came in and they have been installed :) The installation was a bit tricky because the wheel doesn't turn ... The rear ones definitely complete the look :shift:

Thank you. Looks very nice. I think I will order these too for my HyTi. Is grey the only color? Is black an option?

That's black in person and it's the only color available. Since my car is so blue, the phone makes the pics look really blue :)

Nice pictures, thanks for posting them.

You got me thinking now - which is hard to do.

I really think it'll protect the paint on the lower end of the doors and under the car as well as the rear bumper from all that crap on the roads. I'll have to see how less dirty it gets next time I was it.

Are they hard to install? Do they require a dealer to do so?

Thanks!
