You could even tell it was pealing off not just a rock hitting it. Took to the dealer and they said it was just a rock and it would cost me about $500 to repaint the bumper. Well it has gotten bigger now its about twice the size it was. So how can that be a rock? Is Ford not wanting to admit they might have made a small mistake when painting the front bumper. 2010 Sport Blue SEL Report post Posted October 10, 2010 Get a second and third opinion. Take it to another Ford dealership and to an independent body shop to see what they say. If a rock struck it hard enough to chip the paint it should have left a small dent in the plastic bumper cover. Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Since it was purchesed brand new and only a couple of months old they are fixing it under warranty. He said for sure he does not think a rock did it. Thank god, because it was going be a $500 fix.. The imports have full facilities set up at the docks just for this purpose. They never tell the customer if they can get away with it. The dealers do not have to disclose unless it's 10%?? of the car value in damage. Just take a look at a car that ran into something where the bumper is dented pushed in or cracked, you more than likely will not see any paint flaking off.
