Recommended Posts

I am thinking about this and would love some feed back, before i make the investment on the shark fin.

I read that it had 'only' slightly worse reception than the regular one. Wouldn't call that an upgrade...

Here's an option for you. I got this stubby antenna that is 2 1/2 inches long. Looks so much better than the stock antenna. There is a bit of FM reception loss, but not much at all. Sirius is not affected at all.

Here is the link and pics.

Absolutely go with fusionff's suggestion - the cd3fusion stubby antenna. The sharkfin is huge (7"L x 3.5"W x 2.5"H) . To me it looks like the top of a taxicab.

So where do you buy stubby then??

Caraccessory.com

Follow the link in my previous post, that's the exact antenna that I ordered.

My stubby antenna came in the mail yesterday and I am taking it to the post office tomorrow to return it. I liked the size and look, but didn't like the fit. There is a 1/8" or so gap between the flared bottom end of the antenna and the base on the car roof. I tried screwing the stud into the base first and the antenna first with the same result. I was mostly concerned with water infiltration, freezing in winter and appearance. I now see the gap in fusioff's pics.

I bought my " stubby" from cd3 fusion and it fits perfectly with no gap between the antenna and the base. The product ID is FSA, CD 3 Fusion Short Antenna and it cost me $23 plus shipping.
