Are there any recommendations for a windshield shade for the 2010 Fusion? I have one that was purchased from Walmart, and I'm not crazy about about how it fits due to the rear view mirror.

I purchased through autoanything.com a Intro-Tech Windshield Sun Shade fitted for the Fusion. I covers really well, except the area above the mirror. I think you're going to find all shades have a gap or opening in that area so it can be easily manipulated to fit behind the mirror.

I'm also looking for a good sun shade as well. Once upon a time I had one for a different car that was made by Heatshield.

Here is the one I was thinking of getting for the Fusion: heatshield

You can see the cut out around the mirror. Not exactly cheap but the one had previously seemed to hold up well. Hopefully they are still well made.

Hi TX2010. :D I purchased the Covercraft brand UVS100 folding heat shield model here: LINK: Covercraft Heat Shields I also purchased the available storage cover.

I have had it for four nearly four years. It fits great and still looks like new. As you can see on the linked page, they also make a "Roll-Type" heat shield. As con-fusion mentioned, they are not cheap, but very high quality.

To save you some searching, the part number for the folding UVS100 Heat Shield (like mine) is UV11114. The part number for the Roll-Type SunShield is UR11114.

Hope this information helps.

Good luck. :beerchug:

I just ordered one of the heatshield ones for my Fusion and my wife's Tahoe. Got a slight discount for quantity that covered the cost of shipping. They also make one for the back window as well which I did not order - yet.

This one rolls up but it looks like the Covercraft one folds.

I should have it in a few days and I can post some pics.

Hi con_fusion. :D Yes, the one I purchased is the fold-up type, but Covercraft also manufactures a roll-type like you describe. In fact, it is a bit less expensive than the fold-up type.

As an FYI for those interested: While Covercraft manufactures their products in-house, (sun-shields, car covers etc.) they generally do not sell directly to the customer. Their products are purchased through other retial sellers (i.e California Car Cover, Car Cover Depot, etc.). If I remember correctly, I believe I purchased mine through Car Cover Depot (they were not charging shipping at the time).

Good luck. :beerchug:

Thanks all for the replies. I've been checking out the heatshields on the web that have been recommended thus far.

con_fusion, I look forward to seeing photos of your new heatshield after it arrives.

If anyone else has photos of heatshields in their vehicle that they would like to share, that would be great!

Here are some pictures of the Heatshield that I ordered for the Fusion. It looks pretty good. There is a gap above the rear view mirror as someone else said. Since I live in California and it was shipped from the Bay Area, it took a day to get to me. It seemed kind of wide but then I realized it was that way to tuck the sides between the pillar and the window. Enjoy, let me know if you need anything else.

con_fusion,

Thanks for posting the pics. Is the roll-up heatshield as you expected it to be? Is there any sag at the center of the heatshield?

It's pretty much as I expected it to be.

It is pretty stiff right now but there is a very slight sag in the center. Nothing that would cause it to slip out at this point. I can try and post a pic later at an angle that would show the slight sag.

I did notice some Prius owners complaining about their Heatshield shades sagging over time. Maybe the long window lends itself to that, not sure.

Maybe bbf can chime in with how the Covercraft one does over time too.

I have a friend who has a Covercraft foldable for a different make of car and he really likes it. I think the Covercraft foldabale was quite a bit more.

Hope this helps.

Sorry for the delay. Here is a pic of the heatshiled in the car during the day. You see a little sag in the center area:

I just got the Intra-tech shade. I t fits perfectly because it's custom made for your car. Only $24.95 (no tax or shipping costs) from customautoaccessories.com. It took only five days from my initial order to delivery at my door. Used it this morning at rhe golf course and I'm very pleased.
