Blizzard35 Report post Posted January 8, 2010 Hey everyone.....have a 2009 Fusion SEL AWD with sunroof. Lately, when the temperature is very cold or when I hit a bump or when playing a song with a lot of "bass" in it, I get this very annoying rattle/squeak which appears to be coming from the headliner....between the front dome lights and the passenger side sun visor. If I "push" up on the headliner with my hand, the noise goes away. I brought the car to my dealer...they said they they put some "material" in the headliner, but the noise is still there. Anyone else had this problem and if so, were you able to fix it? Any thoughts would be very much appreciated!
skluck Report post Posted January 9, 2010 I had this too! On my FFH 2010 with moonroof. It also only happened when it was very cold and it only happened 2 times. It hasn't happened in a couple months even though its been very cold since then. Sorry I don't have any answers, but its good to know other people have experienced this. When it pushed up on the moonroof it stopped. I was planning to take it to the dealer but the rattling has stopped. I thought it was related to the cold but it's even colder now and no problem. I've washed the car and no leaks through the moonroof so I'm puzzled.

akirby Report post Posted January 25, 2010 Same here, I think its the visor Every time my passenger visor is not latched, it makes a rattling sound that appears to eminate from the back seat area. It just happened this morning and I've learned to check the visor. Clipped it back in and the sound disappeared. Very strange.
Blizzard35 Report post Posted January 25, 2010 Hey folks...GOOD NEWS...update....the problem has been solved! Since I'm the original poster of this topic, I thought I'd better follow up. Turns out the sound was coming from the headliner, behind the passenger side visor..in fact, if you were to tap the headliner pretty much anywhere, you could hear the noise/vibration very noticeably. Anyway, I took the dealership technician/mechanic out for a ride in my car, made him sit in the passenger side, turned off the radio, hvac etc. and sure enough, he heard what I had been hearing. PLUS, he drives a Fusion himself, so he knows the car inside and out. I had the car in for the 32,000 KM service, they fixed the rattle and I'm good to go.
