WPWoodJr Report post Posted August 31, 2009 Last Saturday during the east coast rain storms I was driving home from Maine to Philadelphia and the windshield wipers stopped working. They would stop without warning and then sometime later start up again. I wasted a whole hour after one stop when I couldn't get them working. They seemed to keep working if I didn't use intermittent mode. Has anyone heard of this being a more general problem with the FFH or is it just mine? Hi WPWoodJr. :D Have not heard of any TSB's for this problem on the 2010's. Not a general problem with Fusions (or the Hybrid). Just bad luck. At least they work in the low and high settings (non-intermittent). Have them take care of it on your next Service visit (or sooner if it is a major irritation). Let us know what they find out. Good luck. :beerchug:

black70bird Report post Posted September 2, 2009 Thanks! I thought I saw a thread where someone else had this problem, but I can't find it. There is a thread on wiper bounce or stuttering caused by the use of RainX on the windshield. :banghead:

FtLewis2002 Report post Posted September 2, 2009 There is a thread on wiper bounce or stuttering caused by the use of RainX on the windshield. :banghead: I use Rain-X and mine don't bounce. They do that when there's not enough water on the windshield for the speed they are set on is what I've found. slow them down when it's misting, and they don't hop and bounce. To the OP, I think yours is just a shit happens type problem. I've never heard of a systemic problem with wipers not working on ANY manufacturer. If it's working all the time on low and high but not on delay, it's going to be the switch. If it is sporadic in all settings, I'd lean towards a loose ground. Either way, I'd be upset since it's a new car.
moshawley Report post Posted August 15, 2011 I have a 2010 FFH. I have this exact same problem. It has happened to me twice. Both times, if turned off the car for 20 mins and re-started it, the wipers worked again without an issue. To me it seems that when the wipers on on the intermittent mode for awhile, something happens and they just stop. It is not possible to re-start them, the switch completely does nothing. This happened to me yesterday 8/14/2011.
