lrymal Report post Posted July 27, 2009 It could be the way my tri-focal glasses are, the way I sit, or the way my mirror is adjusted, but sometimes, when I'm backing up, I just can't see the camera image well because of the glossy glass of the rear view mirror. This is especially true when you are in sunlight. Too much gloss and glare. Solution. $3.00 at Wal-mart. Go to the Apple i-Pod section and look for gloss shields for the i-Pods. Find the largest one. Measure your camera image and cut-to-trim the i-Pod gloss shield. Stick it on. Clean off the smudges with micro fiber cloth. Put the car in reverse---wow, hardly any glare or gloss. Admittedly, you have a bit over a one-inch square part of your mirror that has dulled glass on the left side, but it still functions as a mirror.
