bweeden Report post Posted July 4, 2009 Hi all,Just bought a 07 fusion with the 3.0, anyhow the dealer just dropped it off today, I noticed the bottom of the engine was wet with oil, I called to see if maybe they changed the oil, they said the didn't, I crawled under for a closer inspection, I noticed the torque arm for the engine was wet with motor oil, along with some pan bolts and the inspection rubber cover for the bell housing was torn (seems like someone has been there before) Dealer says the car was turned in by an elderly man (80's) who lost his license, and Carfax says all service data was done by the dealer who I purchased the car from. So far the dealer has been great offering to look at it, just didnt know if anyone else has had a problem in this area
jeff_h Report post Posted July 4, 2009 carfax says the car was turned in by an elderly man (80's) who lost his license, and all service data was done by the dealer who I purchased the car from. Is this some type of enhanced report? I subscribed to Carfax for 30 days in the past when I was helping a friend investigate possible used cars from Autotrader, and I saw dozens of Carfax reports and all they indicated were registrations in one state of another, accident repairs (if reported and repaired through insurance), salvage actions, or maybe one or two other things that I can't remember off the top of my head. Did you actually see these details about the little old man on the Carfax report, or I wonder if this is a "little old lady from Pasadena" story that was cooked up by a salesman?? I don't know whether this stuff is really on there, it's just that I've never seen those details on the reports I viewed.
